I thought I'd start another trivia thread, just for the fun of it. It's pretty basic: just a "guess the player" type thing. The thread is open for everyone, so go ahead and post any trivia questions you have. Ok, so let's get started: I was drafted by the Montreal Canadians during the 1970's, but I actually started my career in the WHA before playing in the NHL. I won two Stanley Cup's in my career. I played for 4 teams in my NHL career, playing over 1000 games between the NHL and WHA. I retired from professional hockey after spending a short time in Europe, and later coached minor hockey at the OHL level. Who am I?

Oh, excuse me. God forbid I dare say anything bad to the Predators fans, who are such nice people. Unlike the Wings, however, the Predators do suck, so at least when we say it, it's the truth.

The East isn't that bad. Pittsburgh and Montreal are both legitimate teams, and one will probably end up out of their conference into the SCF. And you never know what Washington could pull off if they make it. The majority of the teams, yes, do suck, but there is still some talent over there.

Yeah, because we should be nice after you immediately come out and say the Wings suck. I can already see dealing with you people is going to be like pulling teeth.

I already said that to begin with though... Nashville blows.

McGuire is reading the exact same cue cards this year as he was last year... and the year before, and the year before, and the year before the lockout, and the year before that... The guy is a joke. I don't know why you guys even take anything he says seriously, because he just pulls the s*** that comes out of his ass from the toilet, and reads it on the air as his "analysis". I swear, listening to him during a hockey game makes me want to punch a baby. He is such an unbelieveably stupid dumbf***, and this latest crap is just proof of it. Dominating the division? We were actually sub .500 against the division at various points this season, and are just barely above .500 now. What the heck is he talking about? I swear, some of the so called "expert analysts" in the NHL are so pathetic and stupid. Pierre is especially the case here. He's nothing more than a bald Barry Melrose. His constant anti-Wings banter season after season after season has almost come to the point of dementia. Dominating the division is the only source of their points? What kind of crap is that?

Haha, me too. I'd like to see the Flyers and Penguins go at it in a playoff series. Yeah, it is a very overused matchup in the regular season, but in the playoffs, it could be a whole different story. Those two teams hate each other, a lot for that matter, so that means it could be a fight filled series!

Tootoo is a penis. He won't fight those guys, and I honestly can't understand why everyone still thinks he will. While there is some truth to Trotz troll not allowing him to fight, he's still a wuss. Just remember: if Downey drops the gloves, and begins raining blows upon him, two things would happen, one good and one bad. One, the good, is that I'd run out to Hockeytown Authentics in Troy and buy a Downey jersey immediately after it happens, and Downey would be a national hero in the city of Detroit. Two, though, is that he'd get slapped with the ridiculous instigator penalty's that the NHL stupidly refuses to get rid of, and it'd probably end up helping Nashville in the long run. Tootoo is playing in an NHL that, for some reason, likes to cator to the agitator: the ******* of the league that run around, cheapshotting guys, yet their gloves seem to be mysteriously glued to their hands whenever someone comes in looking to fight them. If the NHL got rid of the stupid instigator rule, guys like Tootoo, Downie (Steve, not Aaron), Burrows, Cooke, and a couple others would be extinct in this league, and probably go play in Switzerland or something. But it hasn't happend, and at this rate, it probably never will. Hopefully an anvil falls on Tootoo as he's walking out of his house (or should I say igloo?), and he's out for the playoffs, but I doubt that happens. We'll probably have to find a way to deal with his antics some way or another, and hopefully guys like Downey and such are up to the task.

I may be in the minority, but I never liked Latendresse all that much. I think he's overrated. He is somewhat proven at the NHL level, but I still don't think he's that great. I've always liked Abdelkader better. If there was anyone I'd have taken instead, it'd be Paul Stastny (his play in the NHL thus far speaks for itself), but other than that, Abdelkader was definitly the better choice in that round. He's got good size, speed, can score, and most importantly, is physical.

That's the understatement of the century. You're right, Lou. When I look at what the Wings currently have in the minors, whether it be in Grand Rapids or their prospects in juniors, nothing comes close. They have some potential for toughness, like Abdelkader, Kyle Quincey, Randall Gelech, and maybe a couple others, but there is not much else after that. It's a shame that every other team can manage to find guys like that except for the Wings, who can't. Oh well. This is certainly nothing new, to say the least.

Big market team = bigger draw, and better ratings. Philadelphia is definitly a big market. I could go either way on who I'd rather see in between Carolina or Ottawa. Both teams are really nothing to write home about, and while there are guys I like on both teams (Staal, Wesley, and Brookbank for Carolina, Heatley and McGrattan for Ottawa), I'm indifferent when it comes down to it. Really, as long as Washington and Philly make it, I'm happy.

I'd prefer that you not cheat/look up stats and stuff, but I think in the last trivia thread, most people did. Oh well, I don't really remember all that well. I just thought it'd be fun to revive the idea again. As for my avatar... I had to put McCarin on there, because he's who I'll be voting for. Knowing me, though, I'll probably change it soon, since I change it just about every week. Who knows: my next avatar might be a Lilja one... Nope, it's not Nilan. He wasn't a fighter (the answer to the question), so I guess I kinda threw a curveball with that one.

Lang wasn't lazy when he played in Pittsburgh or Washington. He actually used his talents back then.

20 actually. Or maybe it was even more. Regardless, Hudler only has 1 goal in 34 games, dating back to the middle of January... but if you ask fellow members of this forum, they'd still say he's productive. I hope so badly Hudler is gone after this season. At this point, I'd take a Zellers catalog, and a half eaten tuna sandwhich just to get him off this team, and as far away as possible. Seriously.

I hope Ottawa loses. I'd rather see Washington and Philly make the playoffs.

I can sum up Hudler's play with one quote from Ken Daniels during last nights game: "...and here's Jiri Hudler with the puck, who's looking for his 1st goal in 12 games..." He needs to be benched. Absolutley pathetic.

31st place eh? Not exactly what I had hoped for, but middle of the pack isn't too bad. I just have to wonder what North Guy's secret is: he does good in this game every year.
