    When Lang leaves this summer...

How are you so sure Maltby will leave?

Schneider in new hit hockey movie

Personally I enjoy Roenicks occasionally obscure comments, as some of them are pretty funny. Check my sig for a good one he said recently.

    4/3 GDT: at Red Wings 3, Columbus 0 (F)

Great job by the Wings tonight in the 3rd. Little slow to start with, but they did good to pick it up in the 3rd. Great goal there by Calder, and also good goals by Bert and Draper. Hasek was excellent, as he literally kept the Wings in it in the 2nd period. Great overall game by the Wings tonight.
  4. Yeah, that was mostly Legace talking in Andy Stricklands ear. Strickland, by the way, is a writer for the Blues on HockeyBuzz and is also a radio analyst. That's quite generous of you.

Ultimate Playoff Matchup Thread - Who Ya Want?

That still plays a big role in these s***ty #8 seed teams going so far. Calgary, Anaheim, and Edmonton all had hot goaltending when they beat us. Now I give Edmonton a little more credit because they did play the trap and Roloson didn't face a lot, but Anaheim and Calgary were the two most noteworthy. If Calgary had, say, an average goaltender, they wouldn't have gone anywhere. Except Iginla, their roster was basically a bunch of dinosaur goons that did nothing but drag people down. Kiprusoff saved them. Anaheim basically had Paul Kariya beyond Giguere. If Giguere wouldn't have shut everybody they faced down, they would have fallen out of it too. So really, hot goaltending is mostly the reason why a #8 seed will go far. Calgary had no talent, and Anaheim and Edmonton had very little talent. You put average goalies on those teams that went to the finals those years, and it never would have happened.

    Could it be his wrist?

That brings up a good point. It's hard to tell really. Maybe it is like you said, that they are disguising the injury in fear that teams like said Calgary who will be after his back the whole series. Who only knows.

    Schneider Out tonight 4/3

I would prefer it Hank come back by Thursday. I mean, I don't want to rush him or anything, but at the same time I don't want him to be totally out of shape come playoff time. Remember last year Datsyuk didn't play for about a few weeks until Game 2, and it was noticed in his play. In another sense, I guess it's fine though. He could always use the extra rest.
  8. Hey Gordie, try posting this at MLive. I'll bet you won't find even a sniff of a positive reaction there. They are such trolls!

Good GTD motorcitykid! Eh, I have a habit of not predicting scores. It's just the way I am. Anywho, let's see how it plays out tonight, and hope the Wings can bring in a win.
  10. Yay Holland. Like Gordie said though, let's hope it carries into the playoffs.

What is wrong with Robert Lang?

I hope he turns it on in the playoffs. Even then, I'm still skeptical whether I want him back or not. Way to inconsistant.

Playoff hockey to not be televised to some in USA

Luckily I have both Comcast and Center Ice. Add to that NBC.

    New Jersey Devils Fire Coach

Exactly. The Devils have gone through coaches like toilet paper, but every year they play the same exact style, that being the trap. I would be suprised if the Devils even hire another coach next season. Might as well just have Lou coach the team permanitly if he's going to be making firings with only a week of the season left to go.

    When Lang leaves this summer...

*Jason Williams* The Wings have traded guys they have signed, but it will be later in the year. They won't sign somebody, and trade him off like some times might do. The Wings just aren't that way.

Rankings: how teams have retired numbers.

Bad idea. Pretty much the whole city, minus a rare few, hate his guts. Not just because he left, but because he was kind of a whiner when he was here. I don't hate Fedorov at all, as I still remember what a good player he was when he was here. But not everyone feels this way, and he would be booed straight out of the arena.

    Intresting Article on Crosby

Source? Just because you hate Crosby, don't spread crap that you have no source to know if it is true or not. Please, save it for somebody who cares.

Wings say they are gritty enough for playoff grind

According to Ken Holland and co., yes.

    When Lang leaves this summer...

Agreed, except Lang is not playing on the third or fourth line like Whitney did. Whitney was never given a chance and was fighting injuries. Lang has been given a chance, and has not battled injuries, and is still not performing. If he wants to be that way, then I say give the ice time to Hudler and Filppula, two much more deserving candidates.

    2007 Baseball Season

Eh, the Tigers lost. I thought for the most part they played pretty decent, until the tail end. Rodney struggled to get decent pitches off, and he had, what, 3 or 4 walks off the same out. His pitches go all over the place. He did this same thing a lot last season too. Oh well.

Rankings: how teams have retired numbers.

Toronto probably has the utterly worst philosphy. Honoring numbers, how stupid. Just be like everybody else and retire the numbers of players that deserve it. This is just my opinion, but nobody who ever plays in a Leafs jersey should wear Dave Keons or Darryl Sittlers numbers ever again.

    New Jersey Devils Fire Coach

All he has to do now is sign Ari Ahonen (the Devils projected future goalie once Brodeur retires) to a 15 year contract and then they'll be all set.
