Which Red Wing drives you nuts?

I do have more respect for Lilja since the fight. Still not one of my favorite players, but I think he is decent enough for what he does (being a 7th defensmen). Probably the Wing that I really don't like very much is Kronwall. Huge disappointment this season. But again, I don't hate the guy. He's a Red Wings, and I don't hate anyone on the Wings. I do expect more from him though.
  2. Man, I forgot about most of those teams. Of course, I was about 7 years old at that time also.

Osgood vs. Nashville, Hasek vs. Dallas

Did he not win in Nashville the last game? Or am I just imagining things?

Ozzie has been very good against the Preds the past few games. I don't really remember how Dom has been against the Stars. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Who do you think needs to go?

You are seriously a jackass. Can't you be the least bit civil in your post? If you want to be a troll, then f*** you. Go find somewhere else to do it.

Who do you think needs to go?

I am going to once again bring up the question: Why are we talking about next year when where in the playoffs? Seriously, the only reason we should be talking about next year is if we were totally out of it. But were going into the playoffs right now. We don't need all the Hasek negativity going on right now. He's our guy right now, like it or not.

Giguere is highly overpriced. We'd be strapped to make any other moves if we signed him. I think that if Dom doesn't come back, and we need a stop-gap goalie so Howard has some more development time, guys like Thibault or Lalime would be interesting options. Obviously this would not be the long term plan, but these guys are certainly good enough goalies to be short term options until Howard is ready. Mind you I only say this if Dom retires. My first choice is to keep him, as he is still a good goalie.

Man alive. It's almost playoff time. Do we really need this crap right now?

Here's a look at goalies who have been good or decent starters at least once in their career: J.S. Giguere Jamie McLennan Patrick Lalime Jussi Markkanen Sean Burke Niklas Backstrom David Aebischer Mike Dunham Stephane Valiquette Kevin Weekes Robert Esche Curtis Joseph Jocelyn Thibault Curtis Sanford Johan Holmqvist Jean-Sebastien Aubin Wade Flaherty Mika Noronen Ed Belfour Here are the choices. Go ahead and pick one.

You already created one Dom rant topic, why create another? Strange logic you people have. Edit: Sorry, but when I seen you wanted to bring Jose "Open Door" Theodore in instead of having Hasek, that just set me off. Do you really think he is any better than Hasek? He's not. He lost his starting job to a rookie. He's a flash in the pan. Really, if you ask most hockey analysts, they will say Theodore should not have won the Hart Trophy that year anyways. Iginlas 96 points was probably more impressive. And now that we're 5 years down the line, Iginla is still a dominant player in the league. Theodore? Hardly.

Who do you think needs to go?

The Hasek to Joseph/Belfour comparisons are pretty lame. Neither of these guys are having very good years at all. Granted, a bad team can really expose a goalie sometimes, but these two have let in some pretty weak goals this year that the defense can't really do anything about.

    the sharks just clinched

We'll have to play at least one west coast team, there's not going to be any way to avoid it. Unless we end up with Nashville, Minnesota, and Dallas in each respected round, then we'll be heading west.

    lilly pad fights moen! lmao!

What is your problem anyways? You don't have to call out the whole board on it and act like a jackass. Big deal. We seen a fight and thought it was cool. So what? We don't see that many fights around here anymore. Without Shanahan or McCarty, there hasn't been an actual player who really fights to play here (no, Norton and Bootland don't count). The other reason we all made a big deal about it is because of who was involved in the fight. Moen, a pretty tough guy, and Lilja, who we all pretty much know about now. Sure Lilja didn't win, but he didn't get smoked with about 5 blind haymakers or get his face crunched in like Todd Fedoruk. Calm down already and stop calling people out just because we were happy there was a fight.
  15. No question about it. They are probably one of the toughest teams ever going by fighting majors and fighters in general. Comparing it to other fighting teams of the day, Anaheim probably would wipe the floor with them based on size alone. Guys like George Parros, who are huge and can throw haymakers, are extremly deadly. Like someone already stated, if Anaheim played like Philly did in the 70's, most of the league would probably be dead.

    Any news on Zetterberg?

I'm guessing Fridays game against Dallas is now out of the picture. In that case, at least one of the games against Columbus or Chicago. He does need a few games to get back into game shape, so that's when they'll probably bring him back.

Good job Babs; Now win or else

I have faith in the Wings. We are a much tougher team than last year, with the additions of Markov, Bertuzzi, and Calder, and we also have a proven playoff goalie in Hasek. Lets Go Wings!

OFFICIAL Lets Go Oilers Thread of 3/27

...And so the futility continues. The Oilers might as well pack in and head the links early. This is awful for them. I don't know exactly what the record has been without Smyth, but I do know they've earned a total of 4 points in 17 games. Which means it certainly can't be very good.

Which Red Wing drives you nuts?

What is the deal with this anyways? Because we win a game we somehow have to keep the negativity flowing around here by creating a topic about players we "hate". I really don't hate anyone on the Wings. There are guys that maybe I would like to see play better or gotten rid of, but I don't hate anyone. Edit: For all intents and purposes, I'll say Lang. Because he is lazy (and sucks!).

Danton's Ex-Agent In Trouble With the Law Again

*gasp* No suprises here at all. Frost is a joke. He ruined Mike Danton, by simply refusing to leave him alone and kept getting involved with his life. He almost ruined Sheldon Keefe too. This guy needs to be put in jail already, before he spreads to other people.

GDT: NY Islanders VS New Jersey

Primeau is 35 years old. DiPietro is 25. Primeau has also had a history of concussions, so that was nothing new to him. This is the first real one of DiPietro's career. Unless it is that serious, I highly doubt he would retire after just this season.

    Islanders' DiPietro out indefinitely

Those are, at the very least, baby steps for that franchise. Which is all they can really hope for at the moment after continous dropoff seasons. The unsuccess of this franchise as of late traces back to two people: Mike Milbury and Alexei Yashin. Milbury, with his constant bad and errotic trades, has turned a team that should be a superpower right now with all the former first round picks into a bubble team that's just barely making it. Milbury is also still involved within the organization, and I have a hunch it was his input to sign DiPietro to such a long contract, amoung other things. Yashin is just an underacheiver, year in and year out. For the amount of money he makes he should be a top ten scorer in the league, far none. Right now, he has been playing on the fourth line. That's right, a guy that makes almost 8 million a year is playing on the fourth line. If the Islanders don't take the bull by the horns with this guy and get him to start performing, or just let him go, then they will never get anywhere.

OFFICIAL Lets Go Oilers Thread of 3/27

This is really a Catch 22 type situation. On the one hand, if Nashville loses, we could get the drop on them and take the division. And the other hand, it means we play Calgary, who I don't think we can beat. We'll see what happens I guess.

    Islanders' DiPietro out indefinitely

When you put it that way, yeah it is a loss. Unless they do re-sign Smyth, which again, is still very up in the air at this point. But then again, Charles Wang has a way with putting forward contracts that are too big to refuse.
