I hate Monday games. I can only ever watch the first two periods because 24 starts at 9:00. Anywho, I'm expecting to see a fast paced, physical game out there tonight. The Wings have got to find a way to break out of their slump, and what better to team to do it to then the Ducks? Let's hope they can.

Chelios is not counted on to score goals. We have Lidstrom and Schneider to do that. Chelios best strength is his PK ability and being a good shutdown defenseman. At his age, he is still really good it.

Just for clarification... After this season Samulesson has 2 years left on his contract. He signed a multi-year extension at the tail end of last season for 3 years. Unless the Wings buy him out, which will never happpen, he will be a Red Wing for another 2 years. Just thought I'd get that out there for everyone who expects him gone after this season, which will not be the case.

Bear in mind that guys like Richards and Modin were fairly young, like Vinny, at that time period. They were also developing. Daigle was playing on a line with already developed players, one of them was a superstar with the Islanders and Buffalo (I assume you are talking about Pierre Turgeon, no?). If you aren't then I guess it's a different story. But I doubt you are. Guys like Ryan Cunneyworth have also been formidable goal scorers throughout his career, so it's not like Daigle was playing with fourth line grinders that would score one goal every 60 games.

No, but he did make the Rangers who are a better team anyways, and is on their roster now. This goes to saying that Carolina, in my opinion, is stupid for not giving Isbister a chance. He does float sometimes, but he is a decent player, and if he came for cheap, would be a good replacement for someone like Maltby if the Wings don't bring him back or he retires.

There are plenty of people who have steller junior numbers but suck ass or don't make the NHL. Take for example: Brad Twordik. Had pretty similar numbers in Juniors to Tootoo. Played his final year on the Wheat Kings the first year Tootoo did. Scored 69 points that year. Was a regular 70 point scorer for about 3 or 4 years in a row. Where is he now? Not even playing anymore. Case and Point: Juse because you have good junior numbers doesn't mean you're going to be good in the NHL. There are so many more examples, too many for me to list.

Exactly. Belanger is a third line center, whom they got rid of anyways. Tim Gleason has the potential to be a top defenseman, but hasn't shown it too much yet this season. What really got me was also throwing Oleg Tverdovsky into that trade. It was more or less a salary dump on the Hurricanse part, but with the lack of defenseman the they've had this season they surely could have used Tverdovsky to some aspect.

Brad Isbister, who has for some reason been in the minors this year, would actually be someone I wouldn't mind having here. He can drop the gloves, and could replace Maltby if we don't bring him back. He has shown offensive touch before too, reaching the 20 goal mark a few times.

Williams doesn't play for us anymore. And when he did play here, he was on the second line, not the third or fourth.
