I would still consider Giggy a good goalie regardless. Roloson is overrated. Nobody really considers the fact that in last years playoffs the Oilers played a trap, forcing the Wings to take Samulesson esque shots from nowhere. It was basically that way when they played the Sharks and Ducks too. The Oilers trapped, forcing the opposing team to take shots that only Dan Cloutier would let in.

Vanek is very good offensivly. He is a dynamic goal scorer, especially because he's so young at 23 and already has 35 goals while at that time not playing top line minutes. He is definitly an offensive force. His defensive game is stil very suspect though. I kinda consider him in the mold of Mariusz Czerkawski, because he has such dynamic offensive ability, yet very little defensivly.

Malkin will win it, with Stastny and Malkin as runners up. No way Staal wins it. 28 goals yet only 10 assists? Those are probably numbers you'd expect from Jason Blake, who wouldn't pass the puck if it was on fire.

Grigorenko? Where are we pulling his name out of the hat from? IMO with a healthy roster we already have one extra guy. I know more than likely we will lost Lang, but I would rather have that void filled with someone that has NHL expierence rather than Grigorenko who doesn't. And I hate to burst your bubble Maltby haters, but unless he retires, he is coming back. His agent and Holland are already in discussions right now.

That's gold! I swear, I've heard Tommy call games a few times, and he really get's overexited. Not to mention he is the biggest homer since Bob Cole calling a Leafs game. Doesn't really matter to me though. Every broadcaster has their share of homerism. Besides, Tommy does make the game interesting.

Langfeld will stay on the Wings roster since GR didn't put him on their playoff roster (I wonder why ). Unless there is another slew of injuries though, he won't play, since we already have one man out as it is when we have a full lineup.

I was playing one of the old NHL games lately (2003) and saw him on the Wings roster. Then I said "Oh, I remember Kohn!". Actually in that game I put him on a line with Boyd and Joey Teteranko (who I brought on for toughness lol) and they did quite well together. I think Kohn had like over 10 goals too. Hey, I know it's a video game, but worth brining up anyways!

Agreed. While I am not the first to say some calls were questionable, and the refs certainly could have called a little more on Calgary, most of the calls were deserved. Just look at who is taking most of the penaltys. It's Lang. Is this any suprise? Even with Calder playing on his line, he still gets like he has a log jammed up his ass and is so lazy that he has to hook and grab onto other guys so he isn't burned. Really, most of this stuff is coming from Lang, not all of it, but most of it. He could show a little more effort out there, then maybe there would be less calls.

I don't believe in long term contracts. Just look what happened to Samulesson and Williams when Holland signed them to long term deals. If he must, then I say go for it with Calder. I just hope it doesn't effect his play though, as Kyle has quickly become one my favorite players on the Wings now. I'd go more in the 2-year range, but nothing beyond. I'd also say sign Hudler and Filppula to 2-year deals respectavly. But again, nothing beyond that. Same goes for anyone else really. Once you sign guys to long term deals, and they don't pull their own weight, it's really hard to move them to other teams (hint: Martin Gerber). This is why I'm so sketchy about signing guys to 3, 4 year deals. If they bomb, it's hard to do anything with them.

Hey everyone. Let's not respond to anything Tunbo Batman has to say, as he is in troll mode. In his mind he is clearly hoping for his hometown Habs to take a Stanley Cup.

Who really gave him the perception of being a Todd Fedoruk (which is really what your description was)? I never seen anyone come on here and say Kopecky would drop the gloves at a heads turn. He is physical, maybe not overly so, but I still like his style of play. But if someone did make him out to be Todd Fedoruk, then by all means blame the board.

Oho! But those Habs will eh? Please don't start this crap. This is a regular season game that, in my opinion, really doesn't mean very much from the Wings perspective. I want them to win of course, but I'm not going to bust a wall down if they lose this game.

This period is seriously airing on the side of lame. Calgary is basically holding the puck on the boards, and really not moving it much. Neither team is getting any chances. So far, this game has been rather . I mean, not just because it's a low score, but neither team has gotten a whole lot of chances. Dom looked great in the first though, especially on the save on Iginla. There have been a few decent plays (Datsyuks goal, Markovs shorthanded rush) but not too much after that.

Buffalo is going to have to let either him or Briere walk. They can't sign both of them.

I'll be watching the Wings game tonight more or less. That being said, Minnesota wins 4-2. Phoenix has very little firepower beyond Doan.

I really think the mask he wears now is extremly boring. The plain red just doesn't do it for me.
