I know what moment you're talking about, and I do believe he dropped the F bomb. It was more or less an accident though. I'm sure Larry has enough morale values to not swear on purpose on TV. It was an accident.

I give Tootoo the nod over Avery. Avery is at least *sometimes* funny to watch because he acts so weird, like how he does push-ups after he scores a goal. Tootoo is just a dick, plain and simple.
-
Another PP. Come on, let's get something going on this one.
-
Ok, thank you both for telling me. I didn't see the video, but knowing Tootoo I imagine it was bad. No PP goal. Damn.
-
And thus, the streak of Eklund being wrong continues.
-
I was flipping back and forth from FSN to CBC. Didn't catch the Tootoo thing. What exactly did he do?

The refs suck. The call on Calder was awful. With the exception of the refs, this has been a pretty good game. A high tempo, high energy contest. I keep hoping Bootland and Burrows get into a fight. Did anyone see Jim Hughson on the intermission with Ken and Larry? I thought that was pretty cool bringing him in there and talking about the game with him. He had a lot of good things to say about both teams. He talked about Vancouver and how their play style has changed over the past season. He also complimented the Wings, Dom, and Bertuzzi too. I thought it was cool bringing him in there. That being said, let's hope the Wings get the jump on them in the second. Go Wings!

Considering how bad the NY Rangers are at blowing leads, don't rule out a comeback yet!
-
Eh, I'd rather watch that thrilling Blues-Oilers game. Dallas has been pretty good lately. Let's see if they can keep it up. Go Stars!

How is Winnipeg MORE likely to get an NHL franchise? They already showed they couldn't support one before. And besides that, the NHL has already expressed it's desire to expand to more southern markets rather than another canadian team. And what's wrong with another team in Texas? The state is certainly big enough. And they have a good arena to put them in. Seattle doesn't. Key Arena, which is where the NBA's Sonics play, is in awful condition and is only getting older and older. Houston, meanwhile, has the Toyota Center, which was built fairly recently (2002). And it has considerable seating arrangements, which makes it easier than expanding the seating room in a smaller arena. So what is it that makes Houston unfavorable for a team? Because their from the south? Please clarify.

Since I'm bored and feel like getting some discussion going, I'll start by saying what an odd night it was in the NHL as far as bubble playoff teams. You think with both Montreal and Toronto fighting for their lives they'd pull out a win in these important times. But no, they both lost. Now, Montreal losing to Pittsburgh really doesn't suprise me, because Montreal does, for all intents and purposes, blow, but Toronto losing to Washington (yes you heard right, Washington) really shocked me. Washington has NOBODY. This really costed the Leafs in my opinion. As if their schedule down the stretch isn't hard enough, they have a chance to get a few points and blow it. Heh, oh well. So, any thoughts? I just thought I'd get some discussion going, since I'm bored and all. But yeah, what do you think about the East playoff race? It is certainly heating up and is getting interesting.

I doubt he'll make any difference in NY making the playoffs. They've been blowing two goal leads all season long, even when he was in the lineup. And we all know Shanahan is no defensive forward. Best of luck anyways.
-
Agreed. I'm sure most people in Seattle will pick up Sportsnet Vancouver, so they can easily follow the Canucks. The city is somewhat close enough for some fans to drive to Vancouver on a weekend game and go watch too.

I will be so mad if Babcock benches Hudler come playoff time. We need a skilled scorer like this in the lineup, especially if Zetterberg isn't back (being that if worse comes to worse). For the good of the team, bench Samulesson and play Hudler. We already Draper, Maltby, Cleary and Franzen to be the teams defensive forwards. We need Hudler more than Samulesson.

Good post. I like how you emphesized "cheap shots" on the Islanders. But I wonder though. If the Isles do make it to the Finals, and Simons 25 game suspension is up, will he play again? As far as Carolina goes, I don't know if Ward and Cullen were the difference makers. They both went to the NY Rangers this season (Ward actually was traded too) and it didn't seem to propel them to 100 point season. I think Cam Ward is one of the problems. He hasn't really played consistantly all season. He's come into form a little bit lately, but still is a ways off from the way he played in the playoffs last year. It's hard to say "sophmore slump" considering he was basically the backup to Martin Gerber last year until the playoffs.

Rumble was around long enough to deserve a cup. He wasn't a great defenseman, but he wasn't bad. Neckar was good when he first came into the league with Ottawa. I don't think he's around in the NHL though. I'm actually suprised he did get his name on it, considering the one game he played that year was with Nashville, not Tampa. I don't think he played in the playoffs either. Oh well.

Ack, I HATE picking teams to go against in the playoffs. Buf if I must, I must. If I had to choose, my personal choice to play in the playoffs would be Columbus, Chicago, or Phoenix. Who's with me?
-
Eva, the Coyotes have been LOSING money this year. If this keeps up, contracting just might have to be an option in their case. Even the worst attendance teams like Chicago have at least brought in profit. Phoenix has been losing money, which is really a cause for concern.
-
I don't think a few bad games a season would limit someone to not winning the Hart. Do you think Joe Thornton had played his best in all 82 games last year? No he didn't. Just because someone has a bad game or two doesn't mean they don't have a chance to win it.
-
You're stepping into unsafe waters with predictions like those!
-
Sounds like he'll be back on the 30th against Dallas. Hopefully.
-
You are thinking of Andy Strickland, who is a Blues fan anyways. I think it's kinda weird seeing the media actually compliment the Wings. Anything Red Wings related in the media is usually some offbeat Kara Yorio rant.

Montreal really, to me, seems like the team that wouldn't make it. I have to ask why they are playing this Jaroslav Halak guy anyways. They brought up Yann Danis who got a shutout in his first ever career game. I really figured they should have given Danis a chance. Tonight they played Aebischer though, and he did't look good from what I seen of the game. I still think Toronto has a chance. They just got Kyle Wellwood back, and before tonight they've been playing pretty good. Combine that with the suprisingly good play on home ice (where they've been bad all season) and they still stand a chance. Probably better than Montreal or the NY Rangers.
