Disagree on the LA point. The Kings, despite being horrible, have a much better fan base than the Ducks. I think after seeing an attendance figure for this season, the Kings were still ahead of the Ducks despite all of the problems they've had this season.

Really, in all being, it's almost impossible to think the ratings would suddenly shoot up if there was a team in Vegas. Most people would laugh at that thought to begin with. And besides that, I highly doubt a Las Vegas team would make any news, even if it had Sid or someone of that nature on it.

Thanks for pointing it out.

The way I look at it, how can you ever expect Datsyuk to perform in the playoffs? It's not a question of ability, it's a question of the way he plays. This fancy stuff he does in the regular will not work in the playoffs. He's not going to be able to fishline the puck in the neutral zone and dance around the entire team. Teams step up the physical play a notch in the playoffs, and will knock guys like Datsyuk around like a paper bag. Granted we could Bert out there to give him some space, but I don't think Babcock is going to break up the Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom line any time soon. I'd like to see him do well. But until that time, Holland should NOT re-sign him. And I'd like to state something else: Stop being worried that Datsyuk will abandon us for Washington just to play for Ovechkin. Just because Eklund or whoever the hell said it doesn't mean it's true.

Would you say this if he played for the Blues?

Man alive, what is wrong with the NHL? Does Bettman really think he's going to get it as popular as the NFL by expanding to these completely idiotic markets that don't care? They need to get it into their heads that the NHL is niche sport. Either you like it or you don't. Stop trying to get all these bandwagoners who know nothing about it into the sport, because it just won't work. 30 teams is enough as it is. In fact, it's already too many. How many f-ing teams does the NHL need anyways? There should be some sort statue of limitations on this sort of thing.

I thought the Steve Duchesne signing was a good deal when Holland did it. For a man at the tail end of his career, he played pretty good in the time he spent here. Holland does get credit for what he did this year with Bert/Calder, and what he did in 2002 with Hasek, Hull, Robitialle and others. But I don't think the Larry Murphy comparison was very good, considering the point that was already made being that he wasn't even GM yet.

He must like me though. I compliment him. I do think the Maltby bashing is stupid though. He does his job just fine. Is there anyone that will go out and fill his role on this team right now? Don't say Bootland either, because he can't kill penaltys and is not a very good defensive forward.

Just take a look at his current point totals and compare. He's closing in pretty fast on Malkin: Paul Stastny GP: 70 G: 23 A: 44 P: 67 Evgeni Malkin GP: 66 G: 31 A: 43 P: 74 I know Malkin has more points in less games, but this really makes it a race now for the Calder trophy. Stastny is just 7 back of Malkin, and he's had quite a few multi-point games this season. This really is a better comparison for a Calder race then Don Cherry's favorite Jordan Staal, who has only about 40 points at the current time. Stastny is a pretty good player too, after watching him play a few times. So, any thoughts? I thought this was pretty interesting, as I never knew Stastny was that close to Malkin in points. It makes it a tightly packed race like last year with Sid and Ovechkin.
-
Yeah, really. Can a mod or someone change it to "Malkin or Stastny for the Calder" or something in that range. Obviously some people here thought I was making an idiotic trade proposal that would never happen in a million years to begin with. Of course, here at LGW, who wouldn't think something would be trade related?
-
I just wish last four games we play weren't against bottom feeder teams. We could then bring Zetterberg back without having to risk idiots like Lapointe taking runs at him.
-
Sean Avery, Maxim Kuznetsov, and a first round draft pick (that was used to take Jeff Tambellini). So basically we traded a locker room cancer, a traffic cone, and a budding young offensive prospect for Schneider. All in all, not much.
-
Wow. Let's bring up the Moore incident AGAIN.
-
If you really thought that's what I was implying, than you're an idiot. Seriously, that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If it makes you all feel any better, is there a way to change the topic title to avoid any mass confusion?
-
Where do you think the Power play would be without Schneider? Just because he has his defensive lapses doesn't mean he sucks. I really don't see anyone on our blueline who is even close to making up his offense. Kronwall? Please. Don't get me started.
-
No, he was playing with Lang pretty much since the beginning of November.
-
I'm starting to think this was more stupid than serious. UNLESS WE TRADE LILJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111111111
-
Oh yeah? GUYS HOW ABOUT WE TRADE LILJA FOR STASTNY THATS A FAIR TRADE!
-
So, how about those Knicks?
-
Did this seriously come up from the topic I posted? While I certainly think Colorado's new GM this year is a dunce, especially after letting Rob Blake go and not making any moves at the deadline, I don't think we'd ever see a trade like that. Edit: I forgot to mention whether I would except it or not, and I probably wouldn't. The Wings have enough goal scoring as it is, and Calder just brings too much that the Wings have lacked for so long. Sorry, but I'd pass.
-
Personally, I don't think Babcock likes Hudler. If we see Langfeld in the playoffs instead of Hudler, I will know something is up!
-
Oh, I looked. *BUMPING TOPICS IS COOL*
-
There's no way that could happen anyways. The trade deadline has already passed. I'm suprised we haven't seen that trade proposal yet though. jk
-
SHWOOP DE WOOP Bad choice if I might say. Playing on a line with *JASON WILLIAMS* will do nobody any good. I think during his roll he wasn't playing with Williams, so that could explain it. Or, we'll go with Crymsons response of "Lang sucks". edit: spelling
