I'm sure Bettman is in support of that idea, since that is his aim anyways. Get all the fair weather fans or "bandwagoners" interested in the sport. I don't think Join the Red Wave sounds too fair weather like, but it's not my first choice either. Oh well.

And I find it so funny how Blues fans still make jokes about that. Oh the irony.
-
It was a joke. Wings_Dynasty is right, we do need a button to highlight sarcasim.

In *my* opinion Tootoo is one of the leagues premier power forwards who can score, hit, fight, and basically do it all. *dodges tomatoes*

I think someone has a crush on Lilja. *shot*
-
Eh, let 'em have their fun. It's their message board, so why should we care what they think?

I think it helps that he's a Blues fan.

I say this again: MALTBY WILL NOT BE SCRATCHED! Babcock likes Maltby for one. Also, Maltby has been here for a long time. And he still does his job out there. Just because he doesn't score doesn't make him useless. And I'd like to add this again: Would you rather have someone like Samulesson or Maltby on a checking line? Samulesson is by no means physical. Maltby, while not as much as he used to be, still is. Since Samulesson is mostly a goal scorer, he'd be relativly useless on a checking line. As far as Cleary goes: He'd be put on a line with whoever isn't scratched. More likely he'd be with Filppula, Samulesson, or Hudler. Whoever is playing out of that group.
-
Samulesson, Hudler or Filppula would be the most likely scratches. Samuelsson has missed a lot of time to injury, and is being surpassed by Hudler and Filppula. Those two would be scratches only because their rookies. I don't see anything else that would base them as being scratches. Maltby and Cleary will not be scratched.

Great news! Good to here.

For about the tenth time in a week I say this: MALTBY IS NOT GOING TO BE A HEALTHY SCRATCH! Just because we can come on here and play coach doesn't mean it's going to happen. For one, he's been on the team forever. Secondly, he still does his job just fine. Just because he doesn't light the lamp every shift he's out there doesn't make him worthless garbage. And it's better to have a grinding type player on a checking line then someone who doesn't play that way. Would having Samulesson on a checking line really benefit over Maltby? No, because Samulesson is not that type of player. That would be extremly weak checking line if Samulesson was sent out there to do Maltby's job. Samulesson, as I look at it, is the more likely scratch. I'm not coming on here to start the "samulson suks trad himz 4 a bag off puks lolz!!!!!!!!!11" trend that's been going around lately, but with the way the Hudler and Filppula have been playing it seems unlikely for him to stay in. Then again, he might scratch Hudler or Filppula based solely on the fact that their still rookies. The mind of the Babcock is a very complex organism, and you never know what he might do.

Let him take the time off. Playoffs are the real importance here. Besides, with the final 4 games left against Columbus and Chicago, it's probably better he doesn't play in those games. I can him being suseptable to some Marty Lapointe and Jody Shelley cheapshots, which certainly wouldn't bode well for his recovery.
-
Sorry I took so long to post. Hudler was just awesome last night. He's really proving he wants to stay on the roster come playoff time. Another hard working game by Calder. I swear, this was such a good pickup by Ken Holland. I can't say enough good things about the guy. And being it was an empty netter, I'm glad Maltby scored last night. He's still one my favorite players on the Wings, even if he has taken a step or two back. All in all, a good game last night. Great job boys!
-
Most people would probably like Maltby to be sat in favor of Hulder, but coming down to sheer politics that probably won't happen. It doesn't matter to me anyways. I like Maltby still. Heck, I must be the only Maltby supporter still left on this board. Though I won't be the first to admit he has lost a step over the years, he still does his job. He still draws penaltys and takes the opposing player off their game.

Where's Lilja?
-
Ah yes. I remember him. Ya know, I look back at it now, and he should still be playing for the Capitals. That team has absolutly no offensive depth, and earlier this season they cut Fata loose. He wasn't lighting it up, but he was still doing pretty good with them. I wonder if he'll get another chance though. He's beginning to run out of teams to do it with.
-
Actually, I really wouldn't mind at all.
-
A lot of teams fans do the "You Suck!" thing in the Gary Glitter song (or the " Hey" song if you prefer to call it that). I don't know how many NHL teams fans do it, but quite a few minor league teams fans do it.

Didn't former goalie Jeff Hackett retire of the same thing? I think I read that somewhere.
-
Yeah, you know, because Draper is just always dropping the gloves and taking peoples heads off whenever he can.
-
Yeah, you're right. Who knows if we could attract a big name right away. I'd so much rather have Chris Drury though! Hey, I can dream right?
