Free Agents to target this summer

I like the dump Datsyuk idea the best.

    kronwall

I was joking. I believe what you said. Don't take it so seriously.

    Whatever.

    Huds proving critics wrong

I wouldn't count on that happening anytime soon.

    You have his number?

Free Agents to target this summer

If Datsyuk walked, it wouldn't hurt my feelings any. One thing depends on who Buffalo re-signs. I think Drury would be tops if he recovers from his concussion. Briere would be a really good choice too. There are a ton of others, and I don't know the whole list. I'll look it up later.

    kronwall

Why should it be a valid argument? Again, I go back to Wallin as an example. He had injury problems, and wasn't very good in his first season here. So why did we not cut any slack for him but we do for Kronwall? Granted, Wallin only played 32 games, but it's still the same situation. Why cut Kronwall slack? Because of what he did in the AHL and in international tournaments? Those are different leagues all together. I also want to say this: somebody needs to do something about Kronwalls horrendous play, especially over the last few games. I suggest benching him. He deserves it.

    Next Year's Roster

I'd suggest waiting for Montreal to buy out Samsonov, then signing him for nothing. If that happened, I'd be thrilled. Even though Samsonov is not playing well this year, I think a fresh start would be good for him.

    kronwall

Kronwall has arguably been the worst defenseman on the team right now. Come on, you don't see his constant givaways and never staying in position? And this all supposed to be Schneiders fault? Wow, I thought I heard it all. I have NEVER see Kronwall play fantastic. When has he ever played even mildly good? OH WAIT HE HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 His hits, when he actually is able to line somebody up, are so few and far between that if this is his good quality then he really sucks. This year he had the big hit on Lupul. Last year it was on Jay McClemant of St. Louis. One huge hit a year doesn't make him a good defenseman. He has a few other ok hits from time to time, but that is really overshadowed by constant givaways and mental breakdowns. And don't even think about throwing the cliche "Well he's always injured and this is first season" line because I don't want to here it. Jesse Wallin, when he still played here, was injured as much as Kronwall. Did we give him the amount of chances that we're giving Kronwall now? No. So what makes Kronwall any different? Tell me, what? Kronwall is 26, and hasn't shown dick. How much more leverage do we give him?

    Play off teams

So in that sense, Columbus or Washington could still make it? Even though they probably won't.

    Play off teams

None of the players like MacTavish, and I think Kevin Lowe saw they weren't going anywhere. Still, the thought to trade Smyth confuses me to no end.

    Mathieu Schneider gone next year?

Kronwall is no replacement for Schneiders offense. And Kronwall gives the puck away just as much or more than Schneider. BUT HE HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Why is it that we all continue to blow smoke up Kronwalls ass anyways? He's 26, and yet he hasn't shown any of this potential we so candily here about. The response to that is "Well he's always injured and this is his first season lolz!!!!!!11" Please, give me a break already. Did we all have this much patience for Kuznetsov, Eriksson or Wallin when they still played here? No. So what makes Kronwall any different? And if Schneider leaves, who replaces his offense? Kronwall? Right. One goal. Lebda has more then him so far. He's on pace to match Liljas goal amount last year. Case and Point: Until Kronwall shows this offense that he "supposed" to have, we need Schneider. Otherwise we have no Powerplay. I don't see any other defenseman we have (other than Lidstrom) that is capable of handling the Powerplay like Schneider does.

    Next Year's Roster

I don't think the current Wings players and Hartnell would get along. At all.
  14. Kp-Wings

    Vincent Lecavalier

I think he could make a strong push for the Hart. He leads the Lightning in almost everything, and he is part of the teams big 3 forwards. If he keeps this pace up, I'd give him the Hart.

    Huds proving critics wrong

He's played well all season. This is only the first time it's really noticed though because he is getting something other than fourth line minutes and a seat from the bench.

They still have plenty of fans.

Aww that's too bad. I now how realistic it is to win the Stanley Cup EVERY YEAR IN A ROW. God I am so sick of these posts that people expect the Wings to win it every year. Nobody can do that. The Islanders and Habs did it 4 times, but the NHL was a different league during those times. Nobody's going to be like that again. And because the Wings aren't, that makes them a joke? Wow. Typical fan I guess.
  18. That's hilarious! I saw that on HNIC when he showed that. I love how in the end he goes "Can you believe that?" That's great!

To retire or not to retire... ?

Alexei Zhamnov has already retired. He did so last summer. Side note on some of the other names: I always keep hoping Pierre Turgeon can get back with it. He was one of my favorite players in his earlier days with Buffalo and the NY Islanders. I think his time has passed though. Teppo Numminen could very well go as long as Chelios is right now. He still is a great defenseman, and has point up some solid points this year too. Glen Wesley is still a workhorse defenseman. I don't see him retiring any time soon. Jim Dowd has hardly ever been an offensive forward. He still is good defensivly, and on an ass boring team like the New Jersey Devils, will be welcome. Forsberg won't retire. As not will Nedved. Mellanby and Roberts still have some good years left in them too. As for the others on that list: I do see retirement as just around the corner.

    kronwall

The injury to his face was over 2 months ago. Surely by now it should have healed. I think he has a hard time seeing with that thing on. Either that, or he's just naturally that bad of a decision maker when it comes to handling the puck. He must lead, or be close, to leading the team in turnovers. That gem on Fridays game against LA was pretty bad.

    Pens are staying in Pittsburgh

And so ends this most dramatic chapter in the NHL. I'm glad something was finally worked out. Good for the Penguins and the fans too. They deserve to keep their team.

    Mikael Samuelsson

I like Tetarenko. For a fighter, he's not a horrible player. He does have mild NHL expierence. Yablonski on the other hand... Oh boy.
  23. Kp-Wings

    Mikael Samuelsson

I don't think there is one. Usually guys who suck in most aspects will still be fighters. So that's a lose-lose. How about Jeremy Yablonski? Ever heard of him?

    Next Year's Roster

Souray will demand much more money than Schneider. I believe the rumors that say he will demand Bryan McCabe type money. And even though he is a little more physical than McCabe, he is the same type of player: An offensive defenseman who can score points but can't do dick on defense. He can get beat by even the slowest of forwards. And since the demand for Souray will probably be high, I suggest we stay away.
  25. Kp-Wings

    Mikael Samuelsson

I'm wondering why so many complain about Samuelsson. Crymson, I agree with your proposal: Would Langfeld be better suited for his role? I'm sure that all Samuelsson haters can say no to that.
