Wasn't it with Lang earlier in the season that he was scoring all those points? I don't remember who he actually played with when he was scoring. I just remember the famous Cleary-Lang-Williams line that made me want to cry whenever they stepped on the ice.

Williams had it spaced out over the entire season last year. Clearys point production this year has been in a 2 month time span, and basically nothing sense then. That being said though, Cleary is still much better than Williams.

Johnson has retired. And it's pretty much a given that Fischer has too. I like Hudler. I was skeptical at first, and actually went as far as to say Krys Kolanos was more deserving of a spot. He really proved me wrong, and I hope Hudler finds a spot in the playoffs. He works hard, and has been scoring a lot of goals lately. He deserves it.

I'm sure you've heard of all the ghost rumors of things in New Jersey. The actual Jersey Devil being one of them. Not that any of it is proven true, just a fun thought to think about.

Cleary won't be back in time to hit 25. He's not worth much more than he makes now. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and all, but he had his 15 minutes of fame with his sudden hot streak in November/December. I don't think we'll see anything like that again. Energy line players shouldn't break the bank for a team. We already have one guy that does that now (Draper).

Very good point. Nobody really cares that much about the Devils anyways. In fact, what area of Jersey is really a fully populated area to begin with? The Devils have had attendance problems right through their whole existance. For one, nobody really wants to drive out in the middle of a haunted swamp which is basically where they play. The other, and most important, is the fact that the team is so utterly boring as you already mentioned. They have no goal scorers (sorry, this means you too Patrick Elias) and whenever they win games it's by a 1-0 or 2-1 score. When you look at these qualities, I'm suprised the Devils have any fans at all.

You can thank the New Jersey Devils for that.

Why are you so anti-Maltby anyways? While I admit Maltby isn't the same player he used to be, he isn't a pile of garbage either. He plays with more edge than people like Josh Langfeld do now or Williams when he still played here.

I think had Samsonov went to another team (even here for that matter), he would be having a pretty decent season. I like the Czerkawski example someone threw out there. This guy was a dynamic goal scorer with the NY Islanders, topping the 30 goal mark quite a few times in his career. He is then traded to Montreal (he was traded, for Aaron Asham, never went there on his own) and his career goes into a downspiral. He is eventually waived, and finishes the rest of the year in the minors. He did have one last hurrah in the NHL though, as the next season he did put up 25 goals and quite a few points with the NY Islanders as he returned there. But last season he was pretty bad, and as far as I know he isn't playing in the NHL anymore. Czerkawski used to be quite a goal scorer until he went to Montreal. He is a good example of a player that went into a slump once they started playing for the Habs.

There is a skill difference between the OHL and professional leagues in Sweden and Russia respectavly. The OHL is mostly guys under 20 years old. The leagues that Zetterberg and Datsyuk played in had former NHL players, and many prospects that were soon to be NHL ready. So there is a difference. My thought is to just give Kindl AHL time. Unless he's Sidney Crosby, it's very unlikely that he'll jump right straight from juniors to the NHL and make an impact. We have Quincey, Ericsson, Meetch, and a few others that will soon be ready. Or they can choose to re-sign Schneider if they want. I feel that Kindl should only be brought in if they have no other alternetive options. And right now, there are other options that would be better in the long run.

Samulesson isn't that bad. While I admit, the pointless shots from nowhere don't do it for me, you never know what can happen off of shots like that. And he is a pretty good defensive forward, which makes it good to have him on Langs line considering how lazy Lang is and doesn't backcheck. I'm happy with his play, and he certainly is better than Williams. And the other good thing about having him back is it means less ice time for Langfeld.

He's got Markovs number, that's for sure.

That's really weird, considering there was even a fight in the game today. I figured that being it was Boston people would have gotten up for the game. I guess the only time people will get up for a regular season game anymore is if it's Nashville. Honestly, I have yet to see a crowd in another game to really impress me. The Toronto game? The crowd was a joke. It was mostly the Leafs fans you heard, not the Wings fans. I'm really suprised about this. You figure that that when they play eastern teams the fans would get up for it more. In todays case like you said, I guess not.

Oh well. This loss is meaningless. If anything it will make Hasek want to play better against Nashville. On the other bright side, I'd rather see the Bruins in the playoffs over Carolina.

Like YoungGuns already said, Don Cherry is pro canadian everything. He doesn't like the Wings because their European. I remember about 2 weeks ago he actually made a duragatory comment about Zetterberg just because he's not a canadian. Zetterberg is probably about as good as any canadian you throw at him. While some things that Cherry said are true, like not enough grit, his solution would be the Calgary Flames goon squad of 2004. I know how much he likes McCarty, but McCarty is awful now, and hasn't played a game in months. Point being, I take really don't take anything into consideration for what he says, because he's so biased. If he had to pick McCarty or Krzysztof Oliwa as a fighter, he'd pick McCarty simply for the sake of being canadian. I agree with him in the sense that the Wings need grit, but his solution would be someone like McCarty that can't keep up anymore or someone else that purely fights and does nothing else.

Why does everyone want to play Kindl in the NHL now? Haven't you ever heard of developing players? They're have been plenty of players that turn out to be busts if they are rushed to quickly. *Former* Wing Dave Chyzowksi comes to mind. While I admit, Chyzowski was taken much higher in the draft, and he was a forward not a d-man, it's the same situation. He was playing the NHL at age 18 and just wasn't ready. Kindl is not very old right now, and I don't feel he is ready. I think we should wait a year or two so he develops and isn't rushed.

Hainsey is ok, but I don't think he is capable of running a PP on his own. Whatever happened to Berard? Is he hurt again or just out of the fold completly?

Who do the Jackets use on the PP? I can't imagine anyone beyond Vyborny and Nash being able to score any form of points. Edit: Post 700! Woohoo!
