I keep hoping Oakland decides to take him. I don't think Quinn would help much. As for the trade, I'm glad to get rid of Bly. I remember the Dolphins game (yes, the Joey game ) and that was probably the worst he's ever played. I never was a big fan of his before, but after that game I really had it in for him.

Calder can easily play on the second or third lines respectivly. I like his chemistry with Franzen so far, so we'll play that one out and see what happens. Personally, a line of Calder-Filppula-Franzen would be a pretty good line. You have Calder who can play physical and score points. Franzen can be the big body in front of the net, and Filppula can be the playmaking center. I'd like to see Babcock try something like this down the road.

One of Mickey Redmond's best quote's ever!

I was about to say the same thing. Kenny always makes a computer joke every once in a while during games too. Although that would be really cool of Mickey did come and post here. Heh. -

I love Mickey. He's the absolute best commentator. He always has a good sense of humor. -
I had some trouble last week, so I'm hoping to get a better showing. Still have a long way to climb though! Anywho: Friday: Pittsburgh @ Carolina Toronto @ New Jersey Ottawa @ Atlanta Chicago @ Detroit Montreal @ Buffalo Columbus @ Dallas San Jose @ Anaheim Saturday: St. Louis @ NY Rangers Nashville @ Los Angeles Montreal @ Boston Buffalo @ Toronto NY Islanders @ Washington Tampa Bay @ Florida Columbus @ Phoenix Calgary @ Edmonton Sunday: Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh Colorado @ Detroit Carolina @ Atlanta Ottawa @ Chicago San Jose @ Dallas Boston @ New Jersey Nashville @ Anaheim Minnesota @ Vancouver

Oh, I'm exited! This is the most I've been exited for the upcoming Tigers season since... ever! Considering I was born in 1983, I wasn't really following baseball when I was 1. AL Central looks really tough so far. The Sox only barely missed last year, and were pretty good other than that. Division winner Minnesota looks pretty good too, so the Tigers better come ready! Not sure about the Indians or Royals, since they were pretty bad last season. Oh well, I'm getting really anxious now! Go Tigers!

How does the Islanders attendance look? Did people actually go to the game tonight? Congrats to Smyth too. Making an immidiate impact.

What? Are you kidding me? You would go as far to say as you would take Anson Carter over Bertuzzi? I swear, I thought I've seen it all until this. I've seen just about every nay-saying comment about Bertuzzi when we got him, but this is by far the worst. Anson Carter? You're joking right? You must be joking. Anson Carter SUCKS. He's a lockeroom cancer, and he's a s***ty player on top of that. Why do you think he's been traded 7 times? SEVEN TIMES! This is not like Mike Sillenger who often just signs with new teams. This is Anson Carter who is being TRADED 7 times. You really want that here? Wow, I can't believe I'm even reading this. I'd take about 20 Williams over Anson Carter. Ugh.

Good for him. Good job Mark!

I would feel more comfortable with Hasek in net next year. To think Howard, who's only played, what, 4 games or so is ready to be a starting goalie is outrageous. He's been injured a lot this year, and when healthy, he's been inconsistant at best. And this is in the AHL. Despite Hasek's wandering antics, I'd rather have him next year. Save Howard for a farther future, not next year.

You're just mad because they didn't get Fedoruk. You do make a case though. But at this point, I, and many others, really aren't thinking about that with Bert soon ready to play, and of course the playoffs coming up.
-
Yes they did, but got beaten by St. Louis in 5 games.

Question here for anyone who knows. Does anyone remember how the attendance was when the Blackhawks made the playoffs in the 2001-2002 season? They got knocked out early, but had a pretty good season and still made the playoffs. Does anyone remember if they were very popular that season or not?

Pretty cool read. It's weird to see what Brian Burke was thinking during this time. Now we just need Kenny to make one...

This is so redundent now. Why do people continue to bring it up? Let it go already. This is worse than the constant "cylle kalder iz teh nexst correy cros lolz!!!!!!!!!!!11one2" or frequent questions of "iz bertuzee teh nexst ewe cruup????? doz he wace dawgs in alazka?????!!!!!!!!!11one2". Just let it go already. I'd like to add that power forwards were all the rage at the trade deadline, and there was/is a scare amount of them. Now the Wings finally get one of these coveted beuties, and people complain. I don't get the logic here people. We get a power forward like we've wanted, and then complain about something he did 3 years ago? It's just not making sense to me.
-
Sign of good things to come? I sure hope so. Just take your time Bert, and come ready for the playoffs!

As I said before, I think Bert's presense can already be felt.

Another Angle Of The Bertuzzi Trade...Florda Got Hosed...Luongo
Kp-Wings replied to Sleight's topic in General
This almost makes the Markus Naslund for Alek Stojanov trade look like a good deal. When you seriously take a look at things, Florida could easily get a nod as one of the top 5 worst run sports franchises. I remember last season how mad Paul Laus was when the organization didn't even so much as make an attempt to honor the 1995-96 Florida Panthers team that went to the finals. Yep, they can sit right up there with the Blackhawks, Lions, Chicago Cubs, and a handful of others as pretty bad organizations, -
Exactly. This cprice guy is a joke.

Again, let's bring up the Uwe Krupp thing. Is this the only thing that crosses peoples minds? And to answer the question, I certainly hope not.

I agree with your statements earlier, Mack, that the Leafs probably will become a better team once Ferguson Jr. is gone. Resigning McCabe for almost as much money as Brad Richards was probably one of the worst deals ever. And the constant investment in Antropov, even though he is injured every other week. And the Leafs certainly could have done better at the deadline. I don't watch the Leafs all the time, but their on CBC enough for me to see just how they are. And they could be good, if they get a better GM. By the way, was Ferguson Jr. GM when the Leafs *almost* made it to the Cup final in 2002?

Wow. I can't even read that load of crap. All of the Red Wings are raging homos? HAHAHAHAHA! I've never heard anything so stupid in my life! This is the best they can do? And now they like to point out the 1-0 and 2-1 fluke losses! CPrice is hilarious over there! For an admin, he doesn't got two s***s for a brain! OH YEAH SUCK IT DETROIT LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11one2

Where does Shanahan even remotely fit in this topic?

Oates had personal problems here. Though I do agree they could have gotten more than Federko and his rapid fall skills. -
What is the greatest defenseman in red wings history doing today?
Kp-Wings replied to Patrick Roy's topic in General
My vote leans more towards Maxim Kuznetsov. Though Yan did give him a good run for his money.
