Hardly. Lalime got booed in that playoff series in 2003-2004 because of a lot of soft goals he let in. But other than that, it generally wasn't that bad.

Pronger blantently went after him, and ran into the boards because Yzerman ducked. So what should have Yzerman done? Stayed in the same spot so Pronger hurts him just because Pronger lined him up? Please, get real. Yzerman was protecting himself by ducking out of the way. There is no way in hell you wouldn't do the same thing.

I'm not one for supporting opposing teams, but that comment just doesn't fit. Considering that they've beaten us three times out of six this season, that's not the case at all. Clearly they've given the Wings problems at times, anyone can see that.

I don't know very much about Ryan O'Marra, so I can't say what their thoughts were on trading him. They probably are upset, and he was a top 20 pick. His numbers do look pretty good this year from what I've seen, so yeah, he is a loss. Nilsson, on the other hand, has somehow soured on Ted Nolan. He has not gotten a chance to play at all this seaon. When Yashin went down earlier this season, you figure that Nilsson would get called up. Instead they call up Eric Boguniecki. So you could see something was going on there. As the way it looked, I don't know if the Islanders are too upset about losing him just based on this season.

It's good he put family first. He would have been a decent pickup, but I'm just as happy with Bertuzzi.

Can anyone on the Blues really say the same thing? Besides the three year run where they went to the finals between 68-70, the Blues haven't done anything in recent years. And why do you bring the Tigers into the situation? What happened in the World Series is a whole different situation and a whole different sport all together. The Blues have had nothing to show for themselves the last 25 years when they made the playoffs all those years straight. Not to mention they have not made it to a Stanley Cup Final since the 60's, and didn't win then either. Edit: Do the Blues fans come here just when we mention them? Would giving up a lot for Laraque, who has actually stated he is tired of fighting to begin with, really have been worth it? Be a little serious here. I really think you're basing the thought of grit just on fighting ability. Maybe you're not, but just by looking at what you say, I personally think you are. The only fighter that I think would have been remotely worth picking up would be Fedoruk, and who says the Flyers would want to give him up? So then what? We sell a boatload of draft picks or prospects just to give Philly a deal they can't refuse? What's the point of that? Fedoruk has shown a little offensive ability this year, but he's not tearing it up out there. And you're out of your mind if you think Philly would even consider trading someone like Ben Eager. He's a typical Flyers player. So what else is there to do? I'd like to also touch on the subject of Mayers too. He plays for a team who is in our a division, and this team is owned by a man who can't stand the owner of the Red Wings. Honestly, very low chances the Blues would want to trade him to us. Edit: And also to note, Fedoruk is a UFA after this season. Again, trading future players or picks is not an advised thing to do, especially in the so-called new NHL.

It makes it even worse being on Mark Messier jersey retirement night. Last check the Oilers were also losing 3-0 to Phoenix.

The way he sounds in the interviews, he might actually be glad to play there. He has no pressure to perform anymore, so it might work out good for him.

Whoever doubts Garth Snow now should be shot. Look at the deal he made here. He only gives up one draft pick and two prospects for one of the best players in the league. Kudos Garth Snow. Watch out for the Islanders now. If they can now get a healthy and decent playing Yashin, they will be extremely deadly.
