If he comes back and plays to form, he'll be a major steal. Otherwise, it's not too bad anyways considering they didn't give up too much. Great Job Kenny! Nice to see you making a big splash!
-
I feel that if someone keeps Roenicks mouth in line, he might be an ok pickup. But really, let's not give up a lot for him. A draft pick or Lilja might be ok.

Norton is just as bad as Bootland! He loses every fight he's in!

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal
Kp-Wings replied to WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH's topic in General
Say what you want, this is a good trade. Calder brings a lot of energy to the lineup, and a hell of a lot more than Williams. You don't know how glad I am to see Williams gone now. Calder was a great player last year, and I feel he'll be a great contributor on the second line. Good job Kenny, I like this trade. -
He played only one game with the Wings. Why are you so brutal on him anyways? He's got to better than Langfeld.
-
He played one more season in 2002-2003 with Anaheim. He retired from the NHL after that, but still kept playing in Europe.
-
Smyth is the Edmonton Oilers. He's not going anywhere.
-
Unlike Norton, Downey has won at least one fight in his career.
-
He hits people. The Wings could always use more of that.
-
He may be old, but he is still a hard working-gritty forward who can chip in offensivly. If the price is right, I'd take him.
-
Hamel or Downey might suit fancy, but the others aren't worth it. I'm curious to know why Cajanek was waived though. He's having a pretty decent season with the Blues.

I utterly can't stand why he does this. Please, I really hope come deadline time Williams is GONE. This so called second line is so bad. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they moved Lang too. I have to ask: How does Babcock expect any production out of Hudler and Filppula when they usually (if lucky) play about 3 minutes a period? What could be so bad about playing them on the second line? It can't be any worse then the Lang/Williams combo that does nothing every night. I can't believe he doesn't see that Hudler and Filppula play pretty good when they get ice time. And now to really throw the book, he gives Franzen the second line spot. Franzen? What offense does he bring? I'm sure Hudler and Filppula have just as many, if not more, points than Franzen. I totally disagree with Babcock on this one.

Ron Hainsey has become a decent defensemen in Columbus. If Montreal wouldn't have waived and re-waived him so much (bad management), he probably would have played fine there.
-
He always tries the open ice hip-check. I can't believe the amount of times he's gotten beat on that same type of play.
-
I actually did ok this week. If not for an extreme letdown on Friday, I probably would have hit a little higher. Anywho, congrats sibriak on being the new leader!
-
I think that would actually break the deal in half.
-
Ideal situation: Give 'em Williams and a couple picks. Real situation: Probably the rights to the Grand Rapids Griffins. And no, they wouldn't take Williams either. I don't think it's even feasable to get Jagr here. And if we do get him, is it worth it? He has had shoulder problems lately, so I question whether he would be worth giving up an island full of draft picks and young talent.

I wasn't aware that the city of "Philidephia" had a team, wherever that is. I always thought the "Philadelphia" Flyers beat us. Ah, just messing around. Welcome to the boards, even if you are a Nashville fan.
-
I never said that to begin with.
-
It's about the same as Datsyuk and his 3 goals in 42 playoff games.
-
I really doubt the Wings are shopping Draper though.
-
I hate the Preds, but some good does come out of this. I picked them to win in the Weekend Picks topic.
-
Exactly. I'm sure he had no sad feelings for purposly injuring Fischer back in 2002-2003.

Garth Snow may be an inexpierenced GM, but he's not an idiot. Please, be serious here.
