Already a topic on this situation.

Does anyone have a clip of Forsberg falling? I laughed when I heard he fell, so I want to see how bad it was. Glad the Habs got the win tonight. Good on Samsonov scoring such an important goal too, since he's having a pretty hard season.

How is the article from last summer if it says "Greg Johnson joined the Red Wings once before, but briefly retired due to a heart condition". That article is recent, it's just not true. I just wonder where the author got his sources from.

Any status of his production with Omaha this season? I can't believe that Calgary hasn't given him a shot to play this season. Did something happen to him, because I remember over the summer there was talk that he would get a better shot this year. He's only played 2 NHL games, so Calgary should give him another chance.

Oho! This sounds great! Can't wait until tomorrow to see the highlights.
-
With the asking price for Roberts, I think we can cross him off too.
-
Craig Patrick might have actually done it. I don't know much about Ray Shero though.

Calm down. Ozzie isn't chopped liver. While I'd rather start Hasek against the Preds, I have no problem with playing Ozzie.
-
The other rumor is Toronto would have to give up Alex Steen for Roberts. While Steen is in the midst of a sophmore slump like no other, he's definitly worth more than Roberts. Jacques Martin needs to really get his head checked if he thinks a 40 year old with injury problems will really land him young prospects like Steen or Patrick Eaves.

Case dismissed folks. Let's return to our lives.

...And Williams. And probably a few others. Does this mean a big name is coming at the deadline? Only time will tell...
-
What in the...? Is this actually true?

Babcock benched Williams ONE GAME. That's it. There was no fairy tale about it. Babcock benched him against the Av's, Williams complained like a little girl, and came back the next night against Chicago. No lie in that. And Williams "produced" against one of the worst teams in the league (Chicago). So when Williams "produces" against an actual good team, then maybe we'll talk. But as of right now, I have yet to see it. And excuse me for getting the Cleary situation wrong. I'm sorry I don't remember every little situation and every little stat that goes on with the Wings this season. With the way that line is playing right now, how can anyone ever believe they played good? Way to really blow it out of proportion.

I went to the November 10th game against Nashville, and that was a great game. The crowd was really into it, there were quite a few Let's Go Wings chants, and everybody was really into the game. I, like many others, think it's just the teams that were playing on that night that has something to do with it. Think about it... A weeknight game against Chicago? Most people won't get very exited over that. If it was a weekend game, than there probably would have been some more exitement. Or if it was a better team, than there would have been more exitement. I was listening to the game on the radio, and I thought the crowd was actually pretty loud from what I could hear. Maybe it was just me, but the crowd sounded pretty good.

With Mike Babcock as coach, there's very little chance that will happen. Edit: I'd like to clarify why I say this. Remember when Babcock did bench Williams about a month or two ago, and Williams threw a little hissy fit over it and immediatly get's back in the lineup even when he clearly doesn't deserve it? Well, I do remember it, and will not let it go anytime soon. Plenty of players complain about being scratched, and their respected coaches don't care, telling them if they want to play they need to play better. Babcock immediatly gave Williams a spot back just because Williams was "upset". This is why he'll never be a spare. Babcock will give in if he so much as blinks.

Nope. He last played for Pittsburgh, but is currently a UFA. If he keeps up the pace he's on right now in Russia, he'd certainly be an interesting option over the summer if he does come back to the NHL.

Our second line is probably the worst in the NHL. Williams and Cleary are NOT second line players. Cleary had his fun and scoring tear, but it's time to get back to reality people. Also notice that Cleary was on Zetterberg and Datsyuks line when he was scoring all those points. He didn't do any of that when he was with his current line. Maybe Cleary could be a goal scorer, but it's highly unlikely. And Williams... Well, we all know the story there.

Why does everyone assume Turco will blow if we play Dallas? Both times it's happened Dallas played the Av's in the playoffs. It could be just because it's the Av's. I never really seen Turco do that bad against any other team in the playoffs. In 2002-2003 Dallas did go to the WCSF (round 2) but lost to an Anaheim team that eventually made it to the finals anyways. Please people, let's not call the shots before they happen. I'm sure everyone here thought we were going to blast Roloson when we played Edmonton last year too, right?

I know! I was already getting my "Trade Williams" cannon ready.

Still though, I highly doubt he'll go to Washington. Or for that matter Washington will take him. GM George McPhee has stated numerous times that the Capitals plan to re-build through the draft and not sign any high priced free agents, trying to avoid a major bust like they got when they signed Jagr. So even then, the chances of him going to the Capitals are next to nothing.
-
Datsyuk has a lot more chemistry with Zetterberg than he ever will with Ovechkin.
-
You're extremly right though, HR. Watching him play in recent games made me realize just what a lack of effort he shows out there. Granted, he does play with Williams and an extremely overhyped Dan Cleary, but still. If he cared about his point production at all, he'd try a little harder than the way he's been.
