*Hudler Anyways, Kudos to Hasek for yet another great game. Caught some of the saves he made on the DSR, and they were excellent. Great job Hasek! Also congrats to Datsyuk on his 100th.

Guerin was horrible last year with Dallas. If I can remember, there was NO bidding war to get him in the summer, mainly because he wasn't worth s***. The only team that would take him was desperate for players, and was willing to give him anything to fill the roster. To say that it was a mistake for Holland not to sign Guerin in the offseason is just plain stupid. He was awful last year, he was actually contemplating retirement over the summer, and was not very happy over the summer. He really proved he's still got it in St. Louis, so it's smart to make a push for him now. But over the summer he wasn't worth it.

I feel that someday the NHL will return to being more popular again. Case and Point: The NBA right now. Everything has a way of evening out. If anything does even out though, it will be when Bettman is gone.
-
Oh come on. Spend about 10 minutes at that board and you'll see what I'm talking about. ARice already put it forward: The MLive forums are nothing but arguing and Holland bashing. There is no actual conversation that goes on there, just arguing and saying Holland sucks.

I know that, but most people act like he already is a complete defensemen and can take over for Schneider instantly. While Schneider does makes mistakes, he doesn't make nearly as many as Kronwall. I'm not saying Kronwall won't get better, he probably will, but he's not better than Schneider as of right now.
-
Wow... Finally somebody here (other than me) thinks Kronwall is extremely overrated. THANK YOU! FYI I really don't see how Kronwall has played any better than Schneider when he was gone due to his knee injury. Kronwall gave the puck way just as much, if not more, than Schneider. To say that Kronwall is better defensively than Schneider makes no sense to me.

You don't read MLive much, do you?

The Capitals are 23-27-9. Not going to make it with those numbers.

I'll be out tonight, so I'm sticking to radio. Oh well. Go Wings!

Just like Lang!

I think it's safe to say Kolanos is a draft bust. If he can't find any solid ground, which he clearly hasn't playing for over 10 different teams in a 3 year period, nobody will want him. I thought after the strong pre-season he had with the Wings that he could become a decent player, but his attitude is what's killing him.

Just doing what I can.

If it's Eklund, then I don't believe a word of it! Sometimes I really wish Eklund did have more credability than the writing on the bathroom wall because his "rumors" have actually been players that I really want to come to the Wings (ala Ryan Smyth). But I just can't believe anything Eklund says. His Zherdev to Montreal rumor, which he kept at for about a month, was too much.

Are you serious? He only played six seasons in his NHL career, and only two were full seasons. He was an ok player, but did play long enough or was a dominant enough regular season player to warrant him as an example of a non-playoff performer. And even though he was Marcel's brother, that doesn't make a difference. I also disagree with saying that Sandstrom was bad in the playoffs. In 1992-1993 when he was with the LA Kings he had 25 playoff points in 24 games. Just because he really didn't much when he was with the Wings in the playoffs doesn't make him a bust in general. Datsyuk is the only example of a truly bad playoff performer.

All right, you got me. I don't know his exact weight now, but he still looks pretty fat out there. Especially his face.

Lilja for Lapointe.

Standing room tickets, or the worse seats possible will equal to about $22 or around that much.

Kuznetsov a pylon? No way!

TSN's reasoning of doing things sometimes is pretty weird. In the power rankings, a team could be on a 5 game winning streak, yet drop a few spots if they lose a guy to injury. Yet, a team that loses 5 in a row could go up if they get somebody back from injury, or make a trade (ala the Preds still holding on to 2nd on the power rankings just because they got Forsberg). If it was by wins or losses the past few games (like it should be), the Preds would probably be in 10th place on the power rankings.

Pass. Seriously, if Guerin is avalible at the same time, why in the world would the Wings take fat ass Tkachuk over Guerin? The cost of feeding Tkachuk alone would be too much for the Wings to handle. Unless St. Louis moves Guerin, and Tkachuk is our last and final option, than I suppose we might as well take him. But other than that, I say no to Tkachuk.

Defensive play or not, I would never give Datsyuk 7 million. With the exception of when we had to pay Sergei his money when Carolina *almost* got him from us, Russians and money don't exactly bode well for good play. Case and Point: Alexei Yashin. But, this is another subject for another day. Let's not turn this into a Datsyuk topic.
