Sergei Samsonov goes back to Boston for Mark Mowers.

The Wings send Jason Williams to Pittsburgh for a role of tape that Crosby touched.

These are typical Don Cherry and Sean Avery-isms. Somehow the permanent safety of someones face is not very important anymore, at least to people like these two.

How about Winnipeg? *shot*

I just rememberd what a disaster him and Kariya were in Colorado together. Hopefully that carries over now.

PRICELINE NEGOTIATOR! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Anyways, after looking at this trade, I wonder what the consenses of this was to give up so much for Forsberg. Upshall and Parent are two budding young players, not to mention two high end draft picks. I'm actually not mad we missed Forsberg if we had to give up that much for him. Let Nashville suck on him for the rest of the year, and then he'll go back to Philly.

No I didn't think they did. And I really didn't pay that close attention to the matter, considering that about 8 years ago.

Kansas City? Their better than Nashville. ...And no, I'm not southern biased. Considering Kansas City and Nashville have almost the same demographics, there almost the same as being considered southern cities. The difference is that many report that fans are already inquiring about buying ticket plans, assuming the Penguins to move to Kansas City, and the team doesn't even exist yet. As for the Predators... Best team in the league, and their lucky to get 12,000 people in the game (in an arena that holds over 17,000). The Predators are a good team, and nobody is going. You look at the other teams that struggle in attendance, they all suck, with the exception of maybe the NY Islanders. Nobody goes to watch the Islanders because the team is run like a circus. Most every other team that can't sell out probably can't for a good reason, and that's because they suck. There is no legitimate reason that people aren't going to Predators games, except for the fact that they don't care. I'm sure the TV stations and newspapers mention the Predators enough to get people aware of how good they are. If they don't, then maybe that is the problem. But I just don't see that as the case. I see it as the Predators as being good, yet no one cares and nobody goes. And it's not southern bias I have either, as I already explained with Kansas City. And to add, Tampa and Dallas are southern teams, and they have no problems with attendance. The people of Nashville just don't care. Need I speak any further? edit: spelling

Hey guys, who's Scheider? Is he that 10th draft pick from 2000?
-
Pronger to Edmonton for Jesse Niinimaki, a 3rd round draft pick, and a bag of pucks.
-
Yeah, Toronto may still have hope. Chicago though... I don't think there's any for them.
-
Nashville is a good team. They have a well balenced mix of scoring, toughness, good D, solid goaltending, and enough depth to make up for any injuries they may have. I think they are beatable though, more so than San Jose. Nashville we could probably handle, depending on what Holland does at the trade deadline. San Jose would be a problem either way though, so I really hope we don't end up with them.

Which is an entirly true possibility. He's not very well liked in Philly, and they probably figure that if they have to give up Forsberg, they might as well tie the team he goes to down with a huge boulder in the form of Hatcher and is rediculous contract. It's this reason that the Forsberg trades looks less appealing, if this is indeed the case. edit: spelling

Since when was Howard a former first round pick? Anyways, they better not trade Filppula or Kindl. Those two have a boatload of potential. Hudler has impressed me, but if we are to get anything significant in return, we need to give up at least one good young prospect.
-
Dan Cloutier's not the goalie though. Those 50 foot bombs from the point won't go in as easy.
-
Cory Cross didn't play in the playoffs because the coaches would be afraid he'd have a hard time playing in front of an Edmonton crowd that ripped him a new one every time he stepped on the ice when he still played for them. So the saying goes anyways.

YES! LETS GET A MOVE ON KENNY!

Sorry, I missed the NHLer part. If it's from that point, then both would probably be on my list.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
Kp-Wings replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
Who pretell, other than Bertuzzi (who is a huge risk anyways). And don't even suggest Shanahan, because I didn't see him do anything to Pronger in last years playoffs when he was mowing everyone on the Wings down. -
Very good game. The Islanders end up pulling ahead 3-2 in a shootout. The Isles are now one point out of a playoff spot, while Toronto remains at two back.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?

Perhaps the worst post I've seen in this topic. While some people may have a dislike of Forsbergs dirty style of play, constant injuries, or just because he used to play for the Av's, you dislike him for a reason that isn't even true. Forsberg is far from soft. He may not drop the gloves, but he's not a wuss either. -
Some major disagreements there. First of all, Yashin would be very lucky to make that list. He is a good player, and can dominate the game when he's on top, but his past few seasons have brought him some really bad attention. He is a little better this season, but he's still not burning the charts. Add to that his rocky situation in Ottawa and nasty hate for Alexandre Daigle (who at the time was being looked at as more important), and it's hard to make a case for him, even though he has had some really good seasons before. Secondly, how are Sergei Makarov and Vladimir Krutov not on that list? Did we forget the famous "KLM" line which included Larionov that dominated the Russian leagues consistantly? While Krutov didn't have a very outstanding NHL career (only one or two seasons), his play in Russia certainly deserves him of a top ten spot. Even more so for Makarov, because Makarov had a pretty good NHL career to go along with his dominance in Russia. Thirdly, as an all time list some guys like Kovalev or Khabibulin don't really fit. Khabibulin might have a case, because he is one of the better known goalies, but it's still a bit sketchy.
