How about Quebec City? jk
-
I can't believe the city payed all that money for the team. It's rediculous. I agree with his thoughts. The fans show the team no support. How does last place Philly have a better attendance than first place Nashville? Makes you wonder...
-
Exactly. Eklund is such an idiot sometimes. He might as well go on and say the Wings have had interest in bringing back Joe Murphy for another go around. As for the trades, big no goes to shipping off Filppula. He has a lot of potential to be a great two-way forward with some good offensive qualities also. I'm going to break the swede barrier and propose trading Samulesson as part of a package for Doan. Even if he is still hurt, theres no rule that forbids injured players to be traded. If all else fails, give 'em Lilja.

*rant* I didn't really watch too much of the game, because Jack Bauer and the boys of 24 have Monday nights under control for me. And thank god I didn't watch much of it. During commercials I would occasionally flip to the game to look at the score and watch a bit, and once it hit 4-1 in the third I had enough. To my dismay, it ended up being much worse. Now, after watching some highlights and little bits, the Wings toughness, as already mentioned in about 500 previous posts, was clearly exposed, and very badly for that. And after seeing Hatcher actually keep up with the Wings really made me think that something was wrong. I really hope that Holland was taking notes on this game, and he better get some toughness. I didn't watch the entire game, so I don't know how everything went. But judging by what everyone said and what I did see, it was pretty bad.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
Kp-Wings replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
I thought Filppula was part of the "untouchable" group. No way would I want the Wings to give him up for Forsberg. Grigorenko I don't mind so much getting rid, considering I know almost nothing about him. -
Let the madness begin! I love following all the trades that go on. It makes for an exiting part of the season.
-
Sure, if it's for Forsberg, or a winger, I'm in favor of dumping Lang. His turnovers are just so frustrating to watch. Not that he's a bad player, I just wish he'd play with a little more enthusiasm.
-
Time for Forsberg to showcase himself. I am in favor of getting Forsberg, and it would be even better to get Todd Fedoruk as part of the package. Oh well, mostly just wishful thinking anyways.

Is the information you have on number 30 correct? I can think of two guys who played for both Columbus and Hartford at one point in there careers, but not for some of the other teams mentioned. Also found another one: 25. Ray Ferraro
-
Yeah, Cleary and Lang are suffering with no show Williams on their line.
-
McCarty is a dinosaur now. I do remember him getting into a few fights early in the season, but those were only minor Brad Norton caliber fights. Considering his apparent injury problems, we'd have better luck with Eric Daze playing a full season over McCarty.
-
I advocate getting rid of Williams over Maltby. While Maltby's checks aren't earth shattering, at least he's still doing that. Williams doesn't do anything. He doesn't score, hit, fight. Nothing. Next to Lilja he is probably the most useless player on the team. He serves no purpose other than stealing ice time from Hudler and Filppula.

That's true. Though there have been occasions (like last night) where I called Philly to pull off a win, and they did it (over St. Louis, but still). So you never really know what's going to happen.
-
Other than the obvious need (scoring winger), I want to see Holland get Todd Fedoruk. He's found a little bit of offense this season, and he's physical and he fights. But it's those qualities that make it unlikely that Holland will get him. If only he had played for the Wings at least once before, we could count on him coming here.
-
Good deal for Calgary. Stuart at the top of his game is very good offensively, and Premieau is an ok player. Boston at least gets Ference, who is a pretty solid defenseman, but Kobasew? They could have gone after some young prospects like Eric Nystrom rather than Kobasew.

I wonder what it is that people see Bert as such a risk because of his injury this season, which is really the first major one of his career. It's not like he's Eric Daze, and has had 3 previous back surgeries in a 3 year period. Yes, it does make him a bit risky, but it's not like he's a glass statue. And to rephrase, once again, on the Moore incident for all doubters: That was 3 years ago. It's not like he did it last week, so let it go.

40. Sergei Zholtok 45. Radek Dvorak

Don't get your hopes up.

36. Jiri Slegr 39. Pavol Demitra

Souray would be a downgrade from Schneider. Everyone talks about how physical Souray is, yet he's so slow that he only hits people when they are blantly not paying attention and standing still. He's better than Hatcher, but who isn't? I'll say pass.

I'm a little late, but I suppose I'll join in now. Saturday: Anaheim @ Dallas NY Islanders @ Boston Calgary @ Buffalo Pittsburgh @ Toronto Ottawa @ Montreal St Louis @ Philadelphia NY Rangers @ Washington Phoenix @ Florida Los Angeles @ Nashville Carolina @ Minnesota Atlanta @ Vancouver Sunday: Colorado @ Dallas Tampa Bay @ New Jersey Chicago @ Columbus Calgary @ Detroit Atlanta @ Edmonton

Actually I trust more of what Andy Strickland has to say then Eklund. Andy may be a Blues homer, but at least he knows what he's talking about. The comment regarding Bill Guerin is interesting to note: I can't really imagine him and Chelios playing together right now after the lawsuits. If it is anyone from the Blues though, please be Guerin and not fatty Tkachuk.
-
There are quite a few here that would disagree with this decision. Normally I would too because he's a decent back goalie, but if he can't find a way to stay in the lineup at all, it's hard to make a case.
-
How about a deal involving a trade Lilja idea?
-
I was talking about this season alone.
