A 53 save shutout? Wow, that's amazing. Great job Craig!

Jamie Tardif has started to become a fighter this season. I remember reading an article about him on MLive saying he'd start fighting more to try and earn a spot on the Wings someday. Hopefully the Wings organization is taking notice. As a fight fan, you can never have too many fighters.

Yay! The Wings actually won a game! I'm liking the Brad Stuart trade more and more each day. He's played great in his first two games here. I really hope the Wings can convince him to re-sign in the offseason, since he brings great, all around ability for a defenseman. Hasek played great... nice to see him come back into form. We really need him for the playoffs, so it's nice to see him coming around. Good game by the Wings. Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come.

You know the situation well!

That fight was f***ing awesome! I don't know about you, but that definitly goes on my top 10 list for fights so far this year. Both of them threw at least 3-4 bombs in a row. It'll be interesting to see how long Boulerice stays in the NHL this time around... not really a big fan of his, as you know Lou, but if he fights like that, he might start to grow on me...

That must have been after the Sabres - Senators brawl last year, because he sure didn't tone it down when Biron and Emery went at it! I love Jeanerette. He makes the games so exiting. I would love to see his reaction if the Sabres ever do win a Stanley Cup, becaue it would surely be a moment in history!

When you consider how much the Blue Jackets management stated, numerous times in fact, that they did not want to trade within the Central Division, it really makes perfect sense. They asked for one of the guys that they knew Detroit wouldn't give up, so they didn't have to worry about trading Fedorov within the Division. I don't see why they couldn't be reasonable, since Fedorov sucks anyways, but it is what it is. It doesn't surprise me that the Columbus management raised the price for any divisional opponent involved.

I think it's the week leading up to the draft, or the draft itself. I know you can for sure trade during the draft, but I'm not sure if it starts before then or not.

I bet on the Wings a couple times on my last vacation to Atlantic City. Of course, they were in a winning streak at that point, not a losing streak...

I honestly can't understand why the Rags keep Strudwick out of the lineup all the time. I mean, he's a thousand times better than Marek Malik, who seems to have found his way back in the lineup.

Dear Brian, I'm sorry I ever complained about your defensive play, and underminded your value to this team. Please come back and never get injured again. Sincerely, Kp-Wings

I've heard that he is expected to play on March 10th. Not officially confirmed, but it's been rumored.

Yeah, I guess so. It just goes to show the Wings have no secondary scoring at all. I really can't believe the people who still think Hudler will have a great NHL career. I mean, what is it based off of? AHL numbers? For God sakes, Darryl Bootland scored 27 goals in the AHL, and he is by no means an NHL player. Don MacLean had 56 goals and 88 points that same year, and he's off toiling in Austria! And going a bit further back, for those who remember, Stacy Roest was one of the Adirondack Red Wings top scorers in the mid-90's, and eclipsed 92 points one year. Yet, where did his NHL career take him? A whopping 244 games between the Wings and Minnesota Wild. So yeah, AHL numbers are certainly an indication of a lenghty NHL career. Hudler may have skills, but that doesn't mean s***. He's too small, and he's a bad skater. And, unlike other small players in the NHL who are successful, he doesn't play with the passion that those guys do. I have nothing against small players. Though they are not exactly what the Wings need, I'd take a Marty St. Louis or a Brian Gionta any day of the week, and twice on Sunday's. The reason I don't like Hudler is not because he's small, but that plays a big part into it. I don't like him because he's an extremely one-dimesional hockey player, and if he's not scoring, he's probably the most useless player in the lineup (and that's really embarassing, since Samuelsson also plays on this team). I can't stand Hudler. If he was producing, I wouldn't say anything about him, but he's not. He may be getting decreased ice time, but he still get's PP time, a lot of it for that matter, as Babcock has seemingly taken a liking to that awful 2nd unit. Maybe if he made the most of those opportunities, Babcock might give him more ice time... *gasp*

I guess if you're looking at it that way...
-
But... BUT... he's on the 4th line!!!! According to people here, if he was on the 2nd line, he'd be a 30 goal scorer, so then it must be true! I was so extremely mad when the Wings didn't use their oppurtunity to get rid of Hudler, and I'm getting even more frustrated about it with each passing game. He f***ing sucks. He's never going to do anything productive here, and I'll bet he never does anything productive in his entire NHL career. It's just too bad the Griffins suck so badly that they don't have anyone they could bring up to replace Hudler and bring some offense. And no, I don't mean Mark Hartigan either.

I'm surprised Downey has played as long as he has. It's about time someone in this organization realizes the importance that tough guys/enforcers bring to the lineup. Hopefully Babcock deciding to keep up Mark Hartigan isn't an indication he'll be taking minutes from Downey, because Hartigan is exactly what this team doesn't need. He's a career AHL'er, and brings no special element to the game at all. Downey may have terrible hockey skills, but he brings grit, passion, and the ability to fight, something very few guys on this team have. As long as Downey plays 5-9 minutes a night, there shouldn't be any problem with him in the lineup. He hasn't been a detriment to the team or cost the Wings any games with one single play, and has helped a lot, in my opinion. I hope the Wings re-sign him in the offseason.

The terms "marketing" and "Red Wings" do not coexist together. Let's get real here.

I know! It's ridiculous that free agency talk has already started. I really can't wait until free agency starts, just to see all the disappointed people on this forum when the Wings don't sign Rolston, or whoever is the big name everyone. It's like they all didn't see it coming, and that's what really makes it so funny! Nothing to look forward to? You mean you don't love those usual cliches he throws out every year? Free agency cliche: "In a salary cap league, you just can't spend money on expensive free agents. Besides, we want to save money for the trade deadline, since we want to be active buyers." Trade deadline cliche: "We tried to make a move, but in the end, the price wasn't right. We couldn't afford to give up the kids. We're confident in the roster we have." This stuff is gold! I mean, you can expect the same thing every year, which is what makes the whole situation so funny. There should be a website celebrating Ken Holland's lame ass comments and broken promises he makes every year, because it would certainly make for some good entertainment! Glad I have your sympathy!

Don't we already have a rented mule, or did the Wings get rid of Franzen when I wasn't looking?

Thank God the month of February is finally over. What a joke. What was the record the Wings actually finished with this month? I can really only recall two wins the whole time. From losing streaks, bad calls, and a whole load of other crap that's too annoying to even think about, this is one month to forget. I really hope March isn't this bad, because February was beyond ridiculous.

If we played the Canucks in the 1st round, I guarantee they'd probably beat the Wings. They may not have the big scoring depth that they had before, but keep in mind that Dan Cloutier is no longer around to giftwrap the Wings an entire series in one game. Between Luongo, and a healthy Canucks defense, that team is scary. I want nothing to do with them in the playoffs. Again; they don't have much scoring, but defense, and goaltending, are the biggest key factors in the playoffs. They play a solid, trap style defensive game, which has always been a huge downfall for the Wings (remember Edmonton?). I would hate to face them in the playoffs. Really, there is no team I feel comfortable playing in the playoffs, since all of them posses elements that the Wings can't get around. If we play Anaheim, they'll smash the Wings physically; if we play any other team, they'll trap the whole game, and capatalize on the mistakes made by the Wings mistake-prone defenseman like Lilja and Lebda (because at least one of them will be in the lineup). We'll see what happens when the time comes, but I'm really not looking forward to the playoffs. I never liked this roster to begin with, even at the start of the season, and I like it even less now with this losing streak, and lack of moves at the trade deadline.

I feel no sympathy for Havlat, since he was once suspended for kicking another player. Of all of the no-no's in hockey, that is the biggest, and I have no respect for a guy that pulls that s***.
