    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

Yeah, really. I mean, Filppula has the potential to be a 20-25 goal, possibly making him a good 2nd line player (which would finally give this team secondary scoring), but the tearm superstar is really ballparking it. Look at it this way: Ovechkin is a superstar; Kovalchuk is a superstar; Lecavalier is a superstar. Can you really compare Filppula to those players?

    Bitter Canuck fans

Exactly what I'm talking about. They made the playoffs 25 straight seasons, yet couldn't win a single Stanley Cup. Yet, in their minds, greatness has still been achieved. I hate those people so much. They are just the most clueless, idiotic, jealous fans I've ever seen.

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

Whatever. As long as Samuelsson, Hudler, Lebda, and Lilja are finally off this team, and far away for that matter, I'll be fine. I just want those four losers finally gone, because they bring nothing of value whatsoever. I'd like to get Hossa, but the chances are so unlikely anyways. The Wings will probably aquire some depth guys, which hopefully end up helping in the playoffs.

    Bitter Canuck fans

You should see how we talk about Blues fans. I don't have a problem with Canucks fans... in fact, the only fans I really have a problem with are the fans of the other Central Division teams. It's one thing to not like the Wings, but some of the stuff these people say, namely Blackhawks and Blues fans, is just pathetic.

    Forsberg signs with Colorado

That'd be a great idea. I miss that site.

    Weekend Picks

Ok, so Lou finally won a week. When am I going to get a break for once? Congrats guys. I got stuck with an awful "9" myself, so that stinks. That's my worst score in quite a while. I should have done the wise thing and picked against the Wings, since really, it wasn't likely they'd win...

    McCarty officially signs with Wings

Good for McCarty. I hope he does well here, and get's a chance to renew himself. I'm skeptical if Babcock will even play him, but I guess we'll see.

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

I really can't understand how Ottawa is interested in bringing him back. Hossa was unhappy in Ottawa, and the team management didn't want him there anymore. So, why all of the sudden do they want him back? Do these rumors guys (not counting Eklund) know something, or is it all just speculation?

    Forsberg signs with Colorado

Mare-e-uz Chur-kaw-ski. The Islanders were the only NHL team he could do anything with. I wonder if the thought passed by them to bring him back again. You never know with that team.

Pronger leaves game with jaw contusion

Eh, go ahead and stab away. The Wings suck right now. This roster won't make it past 5 games in the playoffs. Ken Holland better make a move, otherwise, this team is going nowhere.

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

Hossa hated being in Ottawa before, for one thing, and the management didn't exactly mind getting rid of him. I really can't see why they'd want him back.

Pronger leaves game with jaw contusion

I didn't wish him dead, just for his career to be ended. ...and please, if anyone finds that offensive, go jump off of a cliff with an anvil tied to your head. This is Chris Pronger we're talking about. I'm sure pretty much everyone on this forum, minus Duck Guy, wants his career ended for good. If Pronger's career was ended, it would be the best thing for the NHL. Same goes for Chris Simon.

Moreau would be such a great addition. As would Staios.

Pronger leaves game with jaw contusion

I hope it ends his career. It'll have been six years too late, but I'll take it anyways. Prongers such a f***ing jackass. I'm glad to see him hurt.

    OFFICIAL: Sundin Staying Put

    Ok, Eklund.

    OFFICIAL: Sundin Staying Put

Yay. Now the Wings won't overpay to get him. The only bad thing that comes out of this is the price for Hossa just went up hugely. Watch now as Sundin is villianized in Toronto for not waiving it. The next Leafs home game should be... interesting, to say the least.

    2008 NFL Draft Thread

I hate the combine as well. It's just a place where bad players go to earn a draft spot, since we all know there are all too many teams in any league that have such bad management that they'll draft a guy because he lift more weight than anyone else, even though he may be the slowest thing on the planet.

    MIA : Secondary Scoring

Whatever the case, he's not worth what he's making now.

    MIA : Secondary Scoring

I hope you're not being serious. His salary would handcuff the Wings for years to come. While Hossa would make something of a comparable if the Wings got him and re-signed him, Hossa is a much better player than Richards. I have nothing against Richards, but he's more of a 3-4 million dollar player, not an 8 million dollar.

    Brian Burke

Briere and Drury were both extremely overpaid by their respective teams that signed them, and are both having pretty mediocre seasons. Buffalo get's the luxery of having cap space, something he wouldn't have had they signed Briere to that 8-10 million dollar contract.

    MIA : Secondary Scoring

So he's out of retirement then? I wouldn't mind Palffy. Always liked him during his Islander days.

    MIA : Secondary Scoring

Exactly. But... I'm still hoping the Wings get rid of Hudler, even if it's for nothing but a low round pick, or future considerations. Let's face it: if the Wings are going to depend on Hudler for secondary scoring in the playoffs, and he plays then like he's playing now, the team is in trouble. Hudler is too small and weak. Unlike other successful small players in the NHL, like Cliff Ronning, Brian Gionta, Theo Fleury, etc., Hudler has no upper body strength at all. He get's pushed off the puck by even the smallest of players. In a series against the Ducks, he'd be an open target. Wow! How could you say such a thing about Feds!1!!1

    MIA : Secondary Scoring

Hudler: 0 goals in 17 games Samuelsson: 0 goals in 7 games Filppula: 1 goal in 13 games ...and I know it's not his job to score, but... Maltby hasn't scored a goal in 34 games. He hasn't scored a point in 21 games. His last goal came all the way back on October 26th (!!!) against San Jose, and his last point came on November 27th against Calgary. I know he's been injured a lot this season, and it's not his job to score points anyways, but come on. I generally don't complain about Maltby too much, because he is a good guy who's been loyal to the Wings, but those stats are becoming too glaring not to notice. It's not just him, though. Look at the other three names I posted up there. Hudler hasn't scored a goal in almost two months. Samuelsson continues to be a total waste of a roster spot. Filppula has been an extreme disappointment, since he should not be wasting the opportunities he get's. The thing about these three is that it is their job to score, and when their not, their not doing anything else to help. I don't see any of these guys, minus an occasion where Filppula may be on the PK, being used in defensive roles, so their job is plainly to score, and their not doing so at all. The Wings need a major shakeup. Whether Holland has the guts to pull it off remains to be see. I really hope he does, because this roster will not go anywhere in the playoffs.
