Ah, right. I see. So in the upcoming Calgary matchup, I expect Lilja and Godard to have a go at it. Unless Godard is not in the lineup, or you consider Godard another one of those "small fish" fighters.

Hopefully Ericsson is as tough in the NHL as he seems to indicate in the AHL. He looks like he could be that physical defenseman the Wings have lacked for so long. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do up in the NHL. I hope he is physical, and fights, as he'd make a great replacement of Lilja.

Nice chart NFM. This will really help on the deadline day itself.
-
Downey is cool. I hope they re-sign him to an extension. It's nice that the Wings have a fighter again.

The Wings would have been best off putting him in the package for Stuart, if LA wanted him. Not that Ellis had any real trade value, but losing a guy for nothing (unless it's Samuelsson) is a pain. Especially since it was only for calling up Hartigan, who is about the same kind of player. No matter. I didn't care that much for Ellis, and if it means Downey stays instead, I'm all for it. Best of luck to him LA, as he should be able to crack that roster.

Hey, maybe you should go check Sundin's facebook. That ought to spice things up a bit.
-
Wow, what perfect timing! Nothing strange about that!
-
Who is it? Lebda?
-
The others could be real, but Mickey's is obviously a fake. The computer jokes he often makes with Ken on the air... well, those aren't necessarily only jokes...
-
Stop the presses! I didn't know Drake checks people! Sucks at fighting? Sure, McCarty's lost a step over the years, but he's still a decent middleweight fighter (which is all that Drake is), but will do it on a more consistant basis. Plus, he still hits guys, plenty more than over half the current roster does.

Come on Lou, you know it's Zhitnik their after! He brings the perfect combination of old, soft, over the hill defenseman that the Wings love, along with his high paid contract. Holland wants him, I can tell!
-
Fraiser has left the building...
-
Why do you guys all assume the Wings traded Filppula for Hossa? They might have, instead traded him for a real gamebreaker... like say, Alexei Zhitnik!
-
Haha, it definitly is. I wouldn't go as far as to say Eklund's wouldn't be as bad, though... I mean, remember last year's trade deadline? He had Bill Guerin signed, sealed, and delivered to the Wings... and what do you know, he goes to San Jose instead! Eklund should just do what Lyle Richardson (Spector) does, and just post rumors from other sources... not make up his own crap. It's ridiculous sometimes!
-
McCarty > Drake Just remember that.
-
Yeah, I'm aware of the facebook thing as well, and it sounds like a load of crap. Filppula doesn't seem like a guy who'd be using something like facebook...

Some people on these forums are so gullible. You'd think that Maltby's name being mentioned would raise the red flag right away. The Wings are too loyal of an organization to trade a guy that's been around for so long. Besides... why would any team actually want Maltby?
-
Thank God. Nothing against Modry, but he's a spent force. I would have been disappointed if that's what Holland's "defensive depth" aquasition would have been. Now, bring in Brad Stuart!
-
That's a beautiful stat. It's deserving of a medal, trophy, or some sort of award. I can't even remember the last time someone on the Wings had that many in one game.
-
Chicago? Why Chicago? All they have is Adam Burish, who's not even a good fighter. I'd rather see it against St. Louis. It'd be great if someone on the Wings would actually fight D.J King, and win! That would really make my day for sure.
-
Ugh, tell me about it. Of course, Modry is the epitome of players that fit the bill for this team... old, soft, weak players that are 100 years past their prime. Modry's best years were 2001-2004 with the LA Kings before the lockout. He's sucked ass since then.

I think people were more hinting for McCarty to replace one of the dead weight players on the roster, such as Kopecky, for instance.

What a ******* awesome game. That is the most entertaining Wings game I've seen all year. Downey =
