This game is amazing. I can't remember the last time a game was this entertaining. I am so looking forward to Downey and Laperriere going again when they get out of the box. I hope they do, and I hope Downey kicks his ass again.
-
No no no no NO. Kubina SUCKS. I don't know why people think Kubina is this defensive God or something, because he's terrible. Yeah, he's 6'4, but he isn't really that physical at all. Plus, he's a terrible skater. He's doing ok on Toronto, but he's still not all that great of a player. I definitly don't want him.

Haha, cool stuff SWF! Metropolis Zone was such a hard level. That, and Wing Fortress Zone took me forever to get through. I love the old Sonic games. I feel nostalgic after listening to that now.
-
You sure about that?

17 minutes in penalties? Wow, the new NHL sucks. If this gives Laperriere time to go out and injure someone else, then this sport is officially screwed up. How is it that Laperriere get's away with only 5 minutes, while Downey gets 17? That's ridiculous.
-
That was great. He kicked Laperriere's ass.
-
This is terrible. If Lidstrom is out for a long period of time, this season is over. Go to hell Laperriere. F***ing *******.
-
Yeah, well, things weren't looking good for a minute there. I had to complain, you know.
-
The Wings should create a trophy named after him. Great fight. Downey with two clear wins in his last two fights. I love it!
-
Thank God the Wings have Downey. I feel much better after that fight. GO DOWNEY!!!!!!!
-
Babcock is an idiot. Samuelsson has gotten so many shifts since the game started. I mean, come on. Why is does he continue to play him so much? Same goes for Hudler. Whatever happened to sending a message to players who play bad?
-
Their not going to, though, so it's proof already. The Wings are weak. They don't care about each other, and they don't care about winning. If they let a hit like that on their captain, of all players, go un-answered, it'll show just exactly where this team is going, and that's nowhere.
-
This team is pathetic. Laperriere should not be able to get away with stuff like that. Everyone, once again, just stands around while liberties are taken. I'm getting so sick of this bulls***. Sign some Goddamn toughness Holland, and get rid of these f***ing creampuffs already. They serve no purpose being here anymore. The Wings should be embarassed after that. Absolutley pathetic.

Yeah, that's right. We need more one-dimensional goal scorers who aren't scoring goals this season. I'd take Bochenski over Hudler or Samuelsson, but probably would grow a disliking to him soon enough after getting him. He's another one of those guys who, like Hudler, is useless if he's not producing points. Then again, he might still be better than those two...

Just about every trade mentioned in this thread won't happen, so there's no difference. Heck, I mentioned the Wings trading Franzen, Kopecky, and Lebda all in the same day, which will never happen in a million years, because Babcock likes all three of them (too much, in fact). This topic is, more or less, just what we would hope to see happen.

To Detroit: Brad Stuart To LA: Hudler, Meech, and a 3rd round draft pick The Wings absolutley need defensive depth. I'm a big fan of Stuart, and given the Wings style of play, he'd fit in great here, since he's an offensive defenseman. Hudler sucks, and is never going to make it here. Same goes for Meech. To Detroit: Vaclav Prospal and Chris Gratton To Tampa: Samuelsson, Franzen, Grigorenko, a 2nd round draft pick, and a 3rd round draft pick Like the Wings need for defensive depth, they need offensive depth as well. Prospal isn't the most ideal choice, since he's a very sketchy goal scorer, but he's having a career season, and could be what the Wings need up front. Gratton provides physical play, and good depth on the 4th line. He can also put up points, if need be. Samuelsson needs to go. He's becoming the worst and most useless player on the team, and it's sickening watching him anymore. Although Babcock, along with a variety of LGW posters, like Franzen, he is expendable. He's not that physical, and doesn't have much offensive potential at all. He's not the top 6 forward that some think he is. Grigorenko was a major bust, and he's need to be shipped out of this organization NOW. To Detroit: Michael Ryder To Montreal: Tomas Kopecky Ryder, like Prospal, is another sketchy scorer, but unlike Prospal he's having a bad season. His value has gone down considerably, meaning the Wings could get him for nothing. He has a lot of potential, as back-to-back 30 goal seasons will atest to. Kopecky is very expendable. He's become a little more physical lately, but he's still not a very physical player. He doesn't use his size enough, doesn't put up many points, and doesn't fight. He really has no role here. Physical Defenseman Option #1 To Detroit: Brooks Orpik To Pittsburgh: Ledba, Ellis, and a 2nd round draft pick Brings defensive depth, and even more importantly, a physical defenseman. Something the Wings don't have at all, which they badly need. Physical Defenseman Option #2 To Detroit: Jason Strudwick To NY Rangers: Lebda, or Ellis Costs somewhat less than Orpik. Brings needed grit on the blueline. Sign McCarty The Wings need grit. It's as simple as that. Downey is really the only purely physical player they have, and it's annoying that they have to rely on only one guy, who doesn't even play that often, to do all the dirty work. The Wings badly need grit, and McCarty will address that need. Final Roster: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Cleary - Prospal - Ryder McCarty - Draper - Maltby Filppula - Gratton - Drake Downey Lidstrom - Rafalski Kronwall - Stuart Orpik/Strudwick - Chelios Lilja Hasek Osgood

Marleau is a spent force. Havlat's iron man streak is about 3 games. Kaberle is a good defenseman, but I doubt the Wings have what it takes to give up enough to get him (if the Leafs even want to give him up). In short, pass on the first two. The third option, Kaberle, would be great, but I don't see it happening.
-
What??? You forgot about Lilja! He'll definitly attract teams with all that team toughness he brings.
-
Haha, exactly. If we dare bash the almighty Mikeal Samuelsson, we're looked at as cave goblins that should be burned at the stake. Even though he's single-handingly the worst player on the Wings (next to Hudler of course), and does absolutley nothing. I swear, Lang pulled his weight around here more when he was a Wing, so that really says something in itself.
-
I'm hoping enough so I can get some. I've gotten opening day tickets in the past, mainly because I was a season ticket holder, so I don't know about how easy or hard it is to get them without season tickets. I'm hoping by next season (not this coming season) I can become a season ticket holder again. The only reason I dropped it is because I live in Bay City now, and it's not practical to drive down to every game from all the way up there.

nevermind
-
Hopefully that won't happen, because he publicly said today he wouldn't waive his no-trade clause. Even so, if the Wings are going to giving horrible players like Hudler and Meech regular minutes in the playoffs, the Ducks will still eat the Wings alive. Call it whatever word you want, it's the truth.
-
Hah, tell me about. I agree you, by the way. Nobody on the Wings roster is untouchable (except for Lidstrom) if things came to pass that Tampa wanted to trade Lecavalier. He's that good.
-
Agree 100% Lou. Besides Downey, the Wings are nothing but a bunch of *******. All of them. They all need to see a plastic sergeon to get some work done on that ghostly outline where their balls used to be, because this is getting ridiculous. I thought things we're better this year, but obviously it isn't, and it's just going back to all those disgusting St. Louis matchups last season. Liberties taken, while everyone stands around and watches. It was that game where Ryan Johnson ran Hasek that I lost all respect for Lebda. Johnson, like Lebda, is a small guy who's not a fighter, yet Lebda stands around and does nothing to stick up for his teammate. Ridiculous. Oh... and by the way, I've had it with Lilja. I can't believe anyone would still like that guy after the way he's played lately. This "PAIN TRAIN" stuff is all a funny joke, but lately, it hasn't fit him at all. He plays like a damn flower out there. He was on the ice when Ott was taking liberties, but did he do anything about it? No. Of course not, this is the Red Wings we're talking about... the only team in the league that doesn't respect their own teammates enough to actually defend each other...
