I'd be willing to part with every first 1st round draft pick for the next 5 years, along with a boatload of prospects. Seriously. Lecavalier is, in my opinion, the best player in the league, because he can do just about everything. He can score, hit, kill penalties, fight, win faceoffs, set up goals, etc., etc. He is such a versatile player, and I'd willing to give up whatever it takes to get him. Will it happen though? Probably not. Lecavalier, despite his questionable leadership qualities and relationship with John Tortorella, is the face of that franchise, and they'd be crazy to move him.

I can't wait to buy my opening day tickets. I got shafted last year because of work, but not this time! Go Tigers!

"It's not just a tip calculator. IT DOES OTHER THINGS!!!!!!!"

Sounds like Samuelsson when he's facewashing guys in front of the other teams net.

Wow, it's about time somebody get's it around here. If you seriously don't expect the best from the team you root for, than you're either a blind homer, or an idiot who doesn't care. Seriously. The amount of people who act all s***ty because we complain over losing streaks, and the various loser deadweight players currently on the Wings roster (Samuelsson, Hudler, Kopecky, Lilja, Franzen, Lebda, etc., etc.) is so ridiculous. It's called an internet forum, and everyone has opinions. If you don't like it, then don't post here. Go get a job at Leafs TV or something if you want to be a raging homer with rosy glasses stuck to your head. I don't think it really matters, though, since this is an internet forum, and there will always be arguments on it. It's mostly the blind homers you can thank for that. But, I guess it's like that everywhere.

Belak? No! Trade him for Hal Gill! He's 6'7, so that must mean he's tough, right?

Ott is a pansy. The only thing he'd fight is either a speck of dust, or Jiri Hudler.

I lost complete interest in the game after that. I occasionally flipped back and forth during the commercials when Seinfeld was on ( ), and from what I saw, the game sucked. So, for the most part, NBC did not have the benefit of getting ratings from me.

Brad Stuart = Make it happen Kenny!

Downey didn't have anyone to fight in either game. Once I learned Dallas scratched both Barch and Winchester, I turned it off and didn't watch. And thank God I did, because judging by the outcome, the game really sucked.

McCarty is looking great down in GR. Hopefully this results in a callup in the coming weeks.

Kindl looks like crap in his first AHL season. Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be another Anders Eriksson or something. He needs to pick it up.

Great news! I really want Stuart on the Wings. My avatar is proof of that.

The Vogues - Five O'Clock World This is one of the many Drew Carey Show theme songs, which is how I first heard about it.

Like what? Ott and the PAIN TRAIN??!!

Jiri Hudler... no goals in 13 games. I'm sorry, but as somebody that's supposed to be picking up the slack for secondary scoring, this guy has been totally invisable the past month. If he's not going to score goals, he's extremely useless on this team, because he brings no other physical elements to the table. Before the anti-complain posters attack me for expecting Hudler to be "the next Steve Yzerman", please consider that a good team shouldn't have to rely souly on the 1st line for scoring. I'm not expecting Hudler to score 50 goals and 150 points, but I do expect him to produce more than what he's shown currently. The Wings need secondary scoring, badly, and since I don't expect Holland to make a big splash at the deadline, it needs to start coming from what they already have. Agree, or disagree?

I think we can also blame the Washington Capitals organization as well, because they also played a part. The NHL is a joke. Their just as bad as the US Congress. I can't believe they don't have anything better to do than fine teams for having a ceremony during an intermission. Why is that such a big deal? Because nobody's ever done it before?

Notice the part where he said "is not a liability". For the most part, Lilja is a liability, as his terribly slow skating and bad puckhandling skills make him exposed by better players. While that is the case with a lot of physical defenseman, I really don't consider Lilja all that physical. He may lead the team in hits, but who exactly is his competition? The Wings are not known as a team that finishes their checks in the corner. The only other guy on the Wings that ever hits anyone is Downey, and he's hardly ever in the lineup. If he played regular minutes, I guarantee he'd have way more hits than Lilja. I'd love for the Wings to pick someone else up for that role, but Ken Holland has the unbelievable love for Lilja. He now wants to sign him to a contract extension, so it looks like he won't be going anywhere for a while, which I'm not happy about at all.

Apparently Sandy McCarthy is making an NHL comeback... Lou, I know you'd like that...

That background music is what makes it so great. Scatman!!!

I had a strong feeling Detroit would lose tonight, yet I still picked them. Grrrr... 1/5 for me overall tonight. Good thing Anaheim sucks so badly against Dallas, otherwise, I would have brought in another 0 score for the night. The bad teams need to start losing! It's so hard to play this game when teams like LA and Florida win when their not supposed to!

Hah, this topic has existed for more than 10 minutes, and it still hasn't came up! That must be a LGW record! Oh, and I love it when people describe Samuelsson as a gritty, tough player. If the way Samuelsson plays is considered gritty, then the NHL, for all things considered, is doomed.
