The idea of a Global League is unpractical because of travel. I had jet-lag for almost three days when I flew out to Vegas earlier this summer, and that's still in the same country. Can you imagine these guys having to fly from somewhere like, say, New York to somewhere else like Russia just for one game? Well, actually, I'm sure it'd probably be set up like the West Coast road trips we do now. Still though, that sounds awful.

This makes me happy.

Pre-lockout Jesse Boulerice was actually a pretty good player. Post-lockout Jesse Boulerice is more like watching living proof of a dinosaur. The guy can't win a fight to save his life, probably because of all the concussions he's had in the past few years. He'll soon be going the way of Stephen Peat (who actually was one of my favorite enforcers. It's too bad he couldn't stay healthy). Eh, it's not like it'll really bother me. I lost all respect for Boulerice after his lumberjack attempt on Kesler last season. I'd expect something like that from Tootoo or Hartnell or somebody, but not from a guy who calls himself an enforcer. He should be smarter than that.

Lebda makes the most sense to get rid of, since he is extremely easy to replace. You could probably pick up anybody from GR, give him Lebda's spot, and not even miss a beat. His only asset of speed if fairly useless when he basically can't do anything else to go with it. Lilja however, makes a lot more money, so for salary reasons (and also the possibility that YoungGuns mentioned about him being restless if benched), it makes more sense to trade him. I'm by no means a Lilja fan, but I'd probably still keep him over Lebda. That said, I don't think it'll happen.

It's pretty much as much of a girl's name as Valeri Zelepukin, Valeri Bure, Jody Shelley, Stacy Keach (even threw a non-hockey one there) are guy's names. It can all go either way I guess. Speaking of Zelepukin, I remember how great he was in the old mid-90's hockey games. He was always one of my leading scorers.

As per TSN The only reason I felt this was worth mentioning was there were rumors that Ottawa had signed an "unnamed winger, who would compete for a spot in training camp". The rumors had gone as far to even include Brendan Shanahan as one of the possible choices, but obviously it didn't come to that. On another note, it's pretty funny to see that this is his 5th team in the past 4 seasons. The traveling suitcase players are always an interesting story. Plus, it's news. Sorta.

The funny thing is about Radulov is he played junior hockey in Canada, so it's not like he's one of these guys that was drafted out of Russia, failed miserably after one or two seasons, and then left again for greener pastures (guys like Igor Knyazev, Alexei Kiagorodov, Alexei Mikhnov, etc. are just a few names that recently did such a thing). He had some pretty good seasons with Nashville. I highly doubt he's ever coming back after a stunt like this. Is it fair to call him a draft bust?

I usually buy pre-season games from Stubhub. That's mostly when I go, since even dead-winter Columbus regular-season games are often out of my price range (not that I'd want to go see a deadpan matchup like that anyways, just using it as a comparison). As far as regular season goes, I bought my home opener tickets last year from Ticketmaster. They were a pretty good deal; about as good as you'll get anywhere else.

Center Ice (usually) has an HD feed for at least every game their broadcasting, if that particular FSN, CSN, or whatever local sports station has an HD feed available (at least I've noticed that. I get Center Ice through DirecTV, but it could be different through other satellite or cable providers).

This is going to bring even more debate as to why we ever had a lockout. A guy who only had 36 points, and was a -23 should not be paid that much money. I know paying for potential is the new trend anymore, but after a horrible season like that, potential should take a backseat.

Isbister would be a better player if he ever learned to score consistantly, fight, or do something good on a regular basis. He brings various elements to the game, but he doesn't do any of them well.

This is the internet; whether it sounds ridiculous or not, you're not going to find a place where people have "friendly arguements". It's not like LGW is some toxic waste pool where this kind of stuff happens here and only here; it happens on pretty much EVERY forum on the internet. I'm not trying to sound like a ******, but arguements/name calling/flame wars/whatever tone you want to spin it as; it happens everywhere. Case and point; the TSN "Your Call" section can get pretty nasty. Heck, even the comment section on the Freep online sports page is the exact same way.

Those players are too gritty to play for the Wings.
