You know well enough that will never happen. Those two are buttf***ing Babcock to no end. How else can you explain for the fact that Lilja, who basically gave Anaheim a goal and was s***ty the rest of the way, was still getting time on the PK? That's ******* insane if you ask me. I like that suggestion, especially for Gelech. He's a big, gritty, scoring winger that would sure help us right now on our small, pillow soft team.

More like a final exam on the 1st day of school. I firmly predict the Wings will get the s*** beat out of them against San Jose. Especially if Hasek plays. That was the worst display of goaltending I've seen on this team since Manny Legace in the 2006 playoffs against Edmonton. Absolutley brutal. This was disgusting to watch tonight. It truely was. The defense really stands out as being bad, next to Hasek of course. Lidstrom looked like a #10 defenseman out there, not a guy who's won 5 Norris Trophy's. Lilja cost us at least 2, if not 3 goals. Kronwall couldn't stay in position even if he was glued to a specific spot. Chelios and Rafalski actually played somewhat decent, but still not good enough for what they should be playing as. Ugh. This was a game to truely forget.

No, I would give Grigorenko a spot before Kopecky. Kopecky sucks. He is undoubtably the worst player on this team, next to Hasek of course. I can't stand even looking at him anymore. Either waive him, or trade his useless ass to Chicago, but please, get him off of this ******* team already. When the games on the line, why does Babcock play him? What does he honestly expect out of some useless pylon that has one point in about 30 NHL games is going to do? Seriously, it's ridiculous. Babcock's coaching was probably the worst part of the game tonight, next to Hasek's goaltending. He's putting out Zetterberg when the game is already over and at a prime opportunity to get run at. And really, I must ask: why can't Aaron Downey get some ******* playing time? He played 2 shifts the entire game. Unbelievable. Yet, Kopecky, who sucks ass more then anyone I can imagine, is playing regular shifts on the 2nd line for Christ's sake. Kopecky couldn't even put up decent numbers on the top lines in GR, and now he's all of a sudden a 2nd line player on the Wings? What the f***? Ugh. I am so mad about the game tonight. Bulls***.

That's how I roll. Honestly, I cannot even begin to comprehend how badly the team played tonight. Almost everyone looked like crap, especially Hasek. We might as well go with Osgood as the starter if Hasek is going to put on that putred performance night in and night out. Although, it's not fair of me to not give Dallas Drake credit tonight. When he did play, he did play good. His work on the PK was probably the best on the team. But, I disgress. My anger is obviously apparent. Real waste of time on my part staying up to watch this. My early morning wake-ups because of my job aren't friendly to me, especially when I'm in a bad mood.

Some great coaching by Babcock tonight! Wow, putting our sniper Tomas Kopecky out pretty much the whole ******* game, even though next to Hasek he's the worst God-damn player on the team. Hasek sucks. He absolutley sucks. I was giving him some leverage before, but he really ******* sucks. Those goals were so horrible. To believe this man is supposed to be our starting goalie, and making 2.5 million a season, and he comes out and plays like that? Horrible. Absolutley ******* horrible. You know what else I don't get? This game was etched in stone with about 5 minutes left that we lost. Why not try giving Downey a ******* chance out there? The whole team is playing like s***, yet he continues to put out his buttf***er Kopecky every chance he get's. Lilja... man oh man, where do I begin there? That was pathetic. He is so ******* awful. Anyone who tries to make an arguement for Lilja as a good player should seriously go jump off a bridge into a rock-filled ditch. That 3rd goal by Anaheim was completely his fault. He was like a -3 tonight, and yet, Babcock is still playing him on the PK! Why the f*** is bad play being rewarded? 24 penalties... for the most part, you can't blame the Wings on that. But, one guy I will point out as completely pissing me off to no end tonight was Holmstrom. Every second he was getting another unsportsmanlike penalty. Keep your God-damn mouth shut. When are the players ever going to learn that? It's common ******* sense. What positives can possible be taken out of this 3-ring circus? Honestly, Cleary and Zetterberg we're the only ones who had their heads not jammed up their asses tonight. Ridiculous performance by pretty much the entire team, minus those two. Meaningless regular season game it may be, but I'm still majorly pissed that I wasted my time staying up this late watching this s***. Ridiculous. Edit: I apologize for the large amounts of swearing in that rant. This game was just so completely frustrating to watch tonight.

See, I don't understand how shooting the puck from the far boards and it still counting as a shot, and being the 2nd assist man really counts as producing. There's no sense arguing about it, because we obviously have different views on the situation. I don't think Samulesson is producing, you do. I entitle you to your own opinion.

What I listed above is not that hard. Cleary does all that and more for less money. I'm not asking Samulesson to be a 30 goal scorer, because I know under no circumstance does he have that potential at all. What I listed above are things that players who make 450K can do. Yeah, I do. Because I see that he's not needed on this team at all for what he brings, yet he get's tons of ice time that he doesn't really deserve. I don't want to sound rude here, but how can you not see them? Every time he get's the puck he tries to do some fancy Datsyuk-esque stickwork, only to lose the puck because he has no natural talent. Or, he takes a useless shot even when there is someone open for a pass. When did I ever say Downey should be playing Samulesson's minutes? When? The guy I want out of the lineup for Downey is Kopecky, because Kopecky is the worst player on the team, in my opinion. He does absolutley nothing at all, and I don't see why Downey can't get a spot, since he and Kopecky are pretty much on the same talent level. The difference is that Downey brings grit and charecter to the lineup, while Kopecky is a waste of air. See, I really don't think he is. But hey, that's just me. I will probably never like Samulesson. I don't like the squishy soft style of hockey he plays, I don't like what he tries to do with the puck, I don't like his constant useless shots from nowhere, I don't like him on the PP. I just don't like him. Sorry, but just because someone plays for the mighty Red Wings doesn't mean I have to like him.

Nah, I'm in that catagory too. Zetterberg excels over Datsyuk in virtually every catagory, except Zetterberg isn't as pinball flashy as Datsyuk is. Still, when it comes down to other things like offensive ability, defensive ability, leadership, physicality, and a whole crop of other stuff, having more flashy dekes really doesn't mean anything. Not to take anything away from Datsyuk, but Zetterberg is a much better player in my opinion. I feel as though he's the cornerstone of the team, not Datsyuk. But hey, that's just me.

It'd be nice if he... A. Didn't take useless shots at every possible moment. Pass the puck at least once in a while. B. Wasn't so slow and lazy. Sometimes he makes Lang look an Olympic Speedskater. C. Played with some actual grit and passion. Again, he makes Lang look energetic at times. He plays with no fire at all. All he does is just goes through the motions. D. Actually used his size for once. The guy is 6'2 but he plays like he's 5'5. Is it really that much to ask that Samulesson not suck so badly? I mean, can he for once put out an effort? You got guys like Cleary, Filppula, even Hudler who put forth a decent effort every game, and they all make less money and get less ice time then Samulesson does. If Samulesson was a 40 goal scorer or something, then I could let his lazy and non-passionate play slide accordingly. That's why I never complained about Shanny in his later years (until the playoffs came around anyways, which was a different story). But he's not that at all. He's a fringe player at best, who reaped the benefits of good linemates 2 seasons ago. Holland then signs him a ridiculous 3-year extension over one 20 goal season. I think it's funny how people defend Samulesson now, when before everyone wanted him gone faster then the plague. My oh my, how opinions quickly change here.

Exactly. He played only about 5 or 6 shifts the last game, at least by my count. And yet, Babcock is putting King Useless™ on the 2nd line now? (I'm referring to Kopecky if you don't know) I'm not saying put Downey in the top 6... heck no, since he's definitly not a top 6 player. But at least give the guy some decent minutes, even on the 4th line. He's a better player then at least 2 players in the lineup right now that see more ice, and I don't understand why. We're playing Anaheim, who were the fight leaders of the NHL last year. Since Downey is playing tonight, I hope Babcock gives him some playing time to see what he can do.

Boulerice is a ******. This guy will never qualify as a legitimate enforcer, because of his stupidity and temper. He doesn't fight fair, and has done that ninja-stick swinging crap before. If he can't learn from his mistakes once before (in the OHL), then he has no place in the NHL. He's a terrible hockey player, a dirty fighter, and an all-around *******.

What's to stop Chris Chelios from just playing Osgood himself without the consultation of Babcock? This is Chris Chelios we're talking about. What's to stop Chris Chelios from doing whatever the hell he wants? Nothing at all! Exactly.

Bernier has a lot of potential. He looked great in that first game against Anaheim in London. It's just too bad he has no team playing in front of him. His overall play was a lot better then what he's stats currently indicate.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Because the West is full of unpopular markets that can't draw fans, so they rely on the Wings fans who live in those areas for revanue. Let's face it: the majority of teams in the Eastern Conference have excellent fan-bases that don't need the help of the Wings to sell out a game. The Toronto Maple Leafs could lose 81 straight games, and still sell-out the 82nd. Hell, you all seen how bad the Philadelphia Flyers were last season, and they were still in the top 10 for attedance in the league. Look at the west, on the other hand. With teams like the Predators, Coyotes, Blackhawks, Blues, Blue Jackets, Kings, etc. These are all teams that either don't have fans (like Nashville) or their fans are so pissed off at the management that they no longer attend games (like Chicago). So they rely on the Wings coming into town to meet the montly revenue goals. The Chicago Blackhawks will win a Stanley Cup before the Wings move east. It's not going to happen anytime in the near future, at least as long as Bettman is commish.

Another terrible week for me. Man, I'm on a cold streak dating back to last season. Congrats to Elshupacabra.

Draper is on pace for 49 goals. Seriously, he's playing great. Him and Z are the best players on the team right now. Now, if we could just get some other guys to start scoring, we'll be fine.

I really hope Downey is in the Anaheim game. Should be some great scraps in that one.
