Hah, yeah right. I don't believe in that statement "We should win it for Feds", because what exactly has Fedorov done to show he deserves to win again? The Red Wings organization never did him any injustice, much like to what people around here like to believe. I see no difference between signing a 4-year contract and a 5-year contract, so I think it's ridiculous when people say the Wings not offering him 5 years was a major ***** slap to the face or something, and they never wanted him in a Red Wings uniform again. What's wrong 4 years? That's plenty damn long enough to sign. ...and yeah, call it greedy or whatever, but I don't believe in the prospect of leaving a team you've spent your entire career with for "greener pastures" or "bettering ones career" as some like to call it. Anaheim was definitly not greener pastures, as they missed the playoffs the only year he was there. He had it pretty good here, so what incentive did he have to leave? Oh, that's right, the magic 5-year contract I keep hearing about. I could understand if he wanted to leave because the Wings were in the midst of falling apart, but they really weren't. Unless he was under that impression after the 2003 playoffs, which he's a sorry ass loser if he was, I don't think that was his line of thinking, since the Wings managed to retain most of their players, and were beginning to see how good Zetterberg exactly was. ...but, I don't want to turn this into another Fedorov thread, so I'll stop now...

Oh oh oh, you got me now! Kitna is the most useless QB in the league, and I've said it numerous times. Just because Marinelli and the Lions organization is that stupid and believe he's a good player doesn't mean the actual fans of the team do. I think everyone thinks he sucks. In fact, when was the last time the Lions organization actually cared about the fans? I can't remember, since they haven't made the playoffs since the Stone Age, and continue to let Matt Millen run this team into the ground with nothing but an office desk and a telephone. Sorry to veer this so far off topic, but it's silly to compare Kitna and Farve, because Kitna has never been a QB in his entire life. Favre used to be good, but I just don't think he is anymore, so why does he keep playing? The Packers really don't have a legitimate shot at a SuperBowl. Kinda the same reason why Barry Sanders retired early, because he saw that the Lions were going nowhere. Then again, I'm not a Packers fan, so maybe I don't know everything that comes into play of his decision. I just think he's far past his prime. edited for grammar

Yeah, and how many years ago was that? I don't understand why you support Nashville, but not Minnesota, or other area's that did struggle once, but probably wouldn't now or don't now.

Well, with that option gone, I just assume play Quincey or Meech. I see no reason bring back Markov. None. He's not that physical, nor does he provide offense, nor is he a great defensive barricade either. Why wasted even 3 or so million on him? I'd rather play Quincey at this point, since there's nothing left on the free agent market, and Quincey played very well during the playoffs. Save the money for the trade deadline. Hopefully Holland doesn't flaunt his ass by saying he's going to make some big move, only not to because "the cost is too high".

It's a hard call for me... I grew up watching the Wings during the time when they had guys like McCarty, Kocur, Probert, etc. I'm used to seeing the Wings be a tough, blue-collar type team. And, believe it or not to the people who want to deny it (not saying you are SWF) the Wings were successful when they had toughness. This team did play well in the rounds against Calgary and San Jose. But, if you watched closely, you would see that Anaheim was much, much more physical than the Wings, and wore them down. Plus, when Corey Perry went and gave Hasek a nice old punch in the face, I didn't see anyone go after him. Point proven. I really don't care for the makeup of the team, to be honest. It's not just because there are no fighters either. This team has lost a lot of the charecter guys over the years, like Yzerman, Shanny, McCarty, and a whole list of others. I mean, we still have Chelios, Draper, Maltby, and Holmstrom, but after that it get's pretty bare. Plus, the guys we have now really aren't that likeable, at least for me. Guys like Samulesson, Hudler, Kopecky, etc. They aren't entertaining players, or charecter guys, or really bring anything important to the table at all. Their a waste of space in my opinion, and my criticism towards Holland is him relying on these guys. ...and yes, my other complaint is the lack of fighting. I like fighting. I'm sorry if that upsets everyone around here, which it seems to for some reason. You know, if we had a couple fights once in a while, it would make these monday night matchups against Columbus just a little bit more enjoyable to watch. Some of the regular season games are just patheticly boring sometimes, and it shows with just how little the crowds at the Joe ever get exited. I mean, they do in the playoffs, but that's another story all together. As a fan, is it so ridculous to want to watch something that's exiting for me? Everyone acts like I'm asking for the world just because I want the Wings to fight more, because that's exiting. If I wanted to watch an ass boring team that does nothing, then I'd be a New Jersey Devils fan. And even they have players that fight. I will always be a Wings fan, no matter how Holland continues to build the team. That said, I'm not going to kiss the guys ass like some do around here, because I don't think it's warranted. Going back to your original question: If the Wings did win the Stanley Cup, I'd probably not complain as much for not having as much toughness or fighting, but I still would. I don't care what anyone thinks of it, I still would. I like fighting, and I always have.

Pilar never collapsed on the ice or anything though. He had his condition diagnosed and treated. I don't think Fischer will ever come back and play, and if he does, I don't see him being a very effective player at his current state.

The Markov to NY Islanders rumor has actually been going on since he hit the free agent market. Markov must have some connections on Long Island. These other names he has going to the Wings are just ridiculous though. Janne Niinimaa? Why in the world would the Wings want a guy like Niinimaa, who's primaraly an offensive defenseman but hasn't up decent numbers in a long time, is on the decline, and is horrible defensivily? Same thing with the new one: Steven Reinprecht. I can't believe the Wings would have interest in another center, and one who has injury problems at that. You all know what I think of Eklund, so I have no reason to continue on. He's a tool.

Sundin won't leave the Leafs. Numminen would only be traded if Buffalo was way out of it, or they got a great package in return. At his age, he's still a pretty good defenseman. I can't think of any names off the top of my head. Maybe Dallas Drake...

Oh please. Another smart-ass comment. Most fans are the same way... they like fighting. For some reason, you don't. I don't know "the majority of Wings fans" but I highly doubt they'd turn away Cam Janssen because of something he did to a player on the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has done nothing to anyone on the Red Wings over the course of his career, so I don't how most people (other than you) would have a reason to hate him.

Do you really think that's going to bother anyone? Look at what happened when Bertuzzi was traded to the Wings. What he did to Steve Moore was "inexcusable", but that didn't stop the fans from buying Bertuzzi jersey's. Whether you like those type of players or not is totally irrelevant: the majority of Wings fans do.
