I ask: when the f*** are people going to let this go? I get so pissed when everybody tries to tie every possible free agent rumor with Uwe Krupp. How is this a comparable? Krupp got injured in a dog-sled race. Most of these free agents, such as Forsberg, have no history of ever being into dog-sledding. It's not a comparable, so stop with this idiotic crap of "Well, he could turn out like Uwe Krupp!!!!!!!!!!111". I guess the Wings should no longer sign free agents then. If everybody wants to use Uwe Krupp as the deterent, than there better not be anymore bitching about Holland having an inactive summer.

Out of that list, the #3 option. Overall, I'd say Lilja carrying the puck out of the zone, only to lose it and ultimately lose the game for the Wings. I still haven't forgiven him for that. It's not that hard to play it simple and just pass the puck up to an open winger. Makes me think his whole strong playoffs was a total fluke, since he went back to old ways real fast. Ok, enough ranting.

If he can help the Wings, then why does that matter? I hate Forsberg just as much as everybody else... he's a diving bastard. Fact of the matter here is that the market is really drying up: there aren't many good forward options left. I'd feel more comfortable having Forsberg, becacuse finally, for once, we'd have a capable 2nd line player. Let me ask: what you feel more comfortable with as a 2nd line center? A healthy Forsberg, who is arguably still one of the best players in the league, or Jiri Hudler?
-
If Forsberg stayed healthy, I'd be in favor of the move. He's a lot better than Jiri Hudler, who is currently our 2nd line option right now.

Balsillie group accuses Bettman of forcing Preds to break off talks

Green Bay is one of the worst choices I've ever seen. Clearly you're going more by the cities latitude lines on a map rather than if it actually cares about the sport of hockey. I also don't care much for Quebec City as a possible desitination. Sure, Lindros is a dickhead, but there's a reason he didn't want to play there: hardly anyone in the city speaks english. Unless you can somehow ice a team of all french-speaking canadians, it won't work out, because they won't be able to draw players. -
Why? Because they play in Miami and that's IN THE SOUTH LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I see no reason to move a team based off the fact that mismanagement has forced them to be bad. We'll see how the fan base is when they turn it around.

My favorite Leafs rumor: Antropov and 3rd round pick for Nathan Horton. That was actually going around at last years trade deadline.
-
Damn. I was hoping he'd come here.
-
It would have been set in stone had Fedorov not decided to leave. Now, it's up in the air...

What exactly does Smyth do other than stand in front of the net and score on rebounds? All of his goals have come that way. Yes, he is a good leader, but he doesn't do very much at a player standpoint. Holmstrom, while not very often, has actually scored goals before that do require skill.
-
Daze un-officially retired. Rumor was the Montreal Canadians were interested in him, but nothing ever came of that. He hasn't played anywhere in a long time.
-
Smyth is a better leader. Holmstrom works harder, and is, in general, a better player. Granted, Smyth has scored more goals a season than Holmstrom has, as Smyth just narrowly missed the 40 goal mark before, but Smyth also makes much more money than he's worth, and doesn't work nearly as hard as Holmstrom does. Overall, I'd rather have Holmstrom. By the way, comparing Smyth to Yzerman is a joke. Yzerman is far and beyond a better player in pretty much everything and better leader than Smyth could ever dream to be.

I'm surprised Wirtz was willing to part with all that money. Kane could potentially make almost 3 million in a very short amount of time. It's a ridiculous signing in my opinion. I didn't even consider this guy to go #1 overall, as I thought Kyle Turris was better. Kane is pathetically small, and from what I hear, has a bad attitude. Plus, one season in the OHL doesn't garner anyone anything, especially of the potential money he could make. If he knew what was right, he would have stayed another year. If he does play in the NHL, he'll get the piss beaten out of him. 5'9, 160 pounds is horribly small.

They suck. To the average, untrained eye, they look the same. But the way the word "Rangers" is scrunched in like that really turns me off. I don't care for it. Considerably, I'll see how they look in actual gameplay motion before I make a final decision.
-
The majority of them are. It's unfourtantly the new trend. There is something about these jerseys that make me like them more, though. I don't know what it is, but they look way better than most new jerseys that teams have come up with.
-
Well, it depends. If you're talking about the old Sergei Fedorov, then I can actually agree with you. He certainly was a special player in his day. I wouldn't have traded him either. Now, though, he isn't. I really don't want him here. But, if it came down to it, and he was the best name left... and we wouldn't have to give up too much for him... I might think differently...
-
Grapes should like Jordan even more now. He drinks.
-
Thank God. Finally, a new jersey that doesn't suck. I really like those. Florida may just have one of the best jerseys now.

35 goals? What a brash prediction. Sorry, but the pre-Steve Moore Bertuzzi has long been dead. He should just hang up his skates now. He's nothing but dead weight garbage anymore. Except for the one game against Anaheim, he did nothing to impress me during his short time here. And during that game, he happened got injured again. That's basically showing that everytime Bertuzzi actually plays hard, he's going to get injured. I'd be surprised to see Bertuzzi hit 50 games this year. Heck, I think 30 games would be a shock.
-
What's the difference if he hates playing the position though? You said it yourself. Fedorov hated playing defense. If he is brought in to do that, he'll have a bad attitude about it, and things won't go well. Yeah, well I'm surprised people are so nice to forgive him over that. I'd like to disgress that I don't go out and boo the guy everytime he touches the puck like some do, but I certainly don't like him. I'll remember all the great things he did for the Wings, but the current Sergei Fedorov is not someone that I really care for. Bertuzzi had no emotional connection to the Wings, other than the fact that he and Chelios did not get along. Bad example.
-
What is this based off of? Because Bowman played Fedorov at defense a few games back in the glory years makes him a better defenseman? Ok, I understand that Qunicey is unproven, but honestly, I'd rather have Quincey than Fedorov. I have too many other reasons for not liking Fedorov.
-
Good point, especially on Bertuzzi. Like I said before: if Burke could put his man-love for Bertuzzi aside just once in his career, than maybe the Ducks would be ok right now. Call it stupid if you want, but I think this thing between Burke and Bertuzzi is ridiculous. 4 million for a player who only played 15 games? Not to mention he's known as one of the biggest thugs in hockey, comes with more emotional baggage than any player in the league right now, and has injury problems now also. I mean, come on. The Bertuzzi signing just released a tornado in Burke's office, and thank's to that, will either lose a great young power forward, or be way over the cap and the amount that the Ducks organization is only willing to spend. It's his own fault. This whole fiasco should put an end to the "Brian Burke is the greatest GM in the world and everything he touches turns to gold" thing that keeps being said across the hockey world. edited for grammar
-
Again: what does that have anything to do with him being a top 6 forward? I don't give a s*** if Fedorov can play defense. The Wings need a forward right now, and probably will again at the deadline. Unless Kronwall goes down to injury (again), I see no reason to pick up Fedorov. Just because Bowman played him at defense, and now Hitchcock takes a page out of that book doesn't mean he's some great defenseman that you make him out to be. I consider Quincey, who is currently our #7 defenseman, far and beyound anything of what Fedorov can do at that position. Besides that, I think it's time to move on. You know, if Fedorov wanted to play here so ******* badly, he would have accepted the 4 year or whatever deal the Wings threw at him. That's still a long term contract in my opinion. I don't know why he felt playing in some s*** market like Anaheim was any better for him, but to me, it was a slap in the face the way he left. Oh well, it's not like what I'm saying will actually mean anything to you.

Mlive: Russian club Vityaz Chekhov courting Markov
Kp-Wings replied to SuperCalaFilppulastic!'s topic in General
Fine by me. Screw him and screw his money. -
Ok, YoungGuns, you've got to admit that Kopecky is pretty useless. The other names I can agree was overblown on, but Kopecky is neither physical, nor provides any offense. He's a 1 inch taller version of Josh Langfeld in my opinion. On topic: Franzen won't play on the 1st line, as that seems pretty unrealistic. I like Filppula on the 1st line more than I like Franzen there.
