    Post Everytime You Look

Why are you acting like I was against the pirate talk? I liked it personally, and actually did it myself a few times. I agree that the whole banning thing was completely overblown. Aye, shiver me timber' I be a pirate!

Actually, I find it quite funny.

    Yzerman's All Time Ranking

Exactly. Bad defensivily or not, Gretzky is untouchable. Nobody will ever come close to the greatness he achieved. Maybe Crosby could, but not likely.

  5. I like the idea of moving the Capitals from D.C. to Salt Lake City. I've been to Salt Lake City, and they have a good hockey following there. It'd be a great market for a team. D.C. is a horrible market, and next to Nashville, are the team that I have wanted to be moved the most. They have no fan support at all, and the local sports media in D.C. couldn't give a two s***s about the Capitals at all. Even when all the D.C. teams are bad, they go after the Baltimore teams, and so on and so fourth. It's hard to believe Maryland is such an anti-hockey state, because technically it is a northern state. It confuses me why they don't care at all. I don't think Phoenix should be given up on though, because back when the Coyotes first moved there and were a good team, they had a great fan following. Give it time. If the Coyotes do turn it around, I'm sure the fans will start going back to watch. There are a lot of northerners in Phoenix too.

    2007 Baseball Season

It's the typical Monroe "5-game flash of brillance" he shows every season. He's like the Nikolai Antropov of baseball. I'd be surprised if he can keep it going on a consistant basis.

    Michael Vick

Vick is a disgusting bastard. I hope he does get the maximum term. ESPN is a joke in this whole matter though. I don't really want to watch 24 hours of Michael Vick coverage. I mean, come on. ESPN really manages to blow ass in the majority of it's programming.

    Mark Hartigan a Red Wing

Hartigan is a better player than Kopecky in my opinion. Hopefully Babcock thinks the same. I expect that Hartigan will be with GR to start with, but the guy does have a lot of tools to make him a solid NHL player. Given the right opportunity, he could be a good fit with the Wings.

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

So... you actually don't care that not a single player on the Wings stuck up for Williams or Lebda, and just sat on their hands and did nothing? That's the kinda thing that's been going on with the Wings recently that I can't stand. If someone goes after your teammates, you stick up for them. Not find the nearest payphone, call Bettman, and say "Did you see that?". That just makes the Wings looks like major wimps. But, you have no problem with that, so...

    Kelly Kisio vs. Sersei Fedorov

That he is. Mickey was great in that clip doing the commentary. I miss the days when the Wings used to play on PASS sports.

    Brad Norton

Haha, that song for the Norton video is hilarious. Scatman. Anyways, Norton is a pretty lame fighter in my opinion, and since he can't do anything else, I don't expect him to make the Sharks roster. Same goes for Brennan Evans, who has only played 2 NHL games so far (those being playoff games with Calgary during the 2003-2004 season) and isn't a very good player either. Although, it can be said that Norton is better than Josh Langfeld, who in my opinion, was the most useless player to ever play for the Wings in quite a while. Talk about dead weight on the roster.

    Brett Hull gone?

Very true. In Bettmans mind, the only way to reach American fans in no nothing markets (Miami, Phoenix, SoCal, Nashville) is to convince people that the NHL is the greates league in American pro-sports and not a single thing is wrong with it. Hull usually tells people the opposite, aka the truth, in the matter that the current state of the NHL does suck and has major problems. If this is indeed the case of why Hull is stepping down, that will really show what a rat bastard Bettman is. Which everybody already knew anyways, but just helps the case even more.

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

Philadelphia's coach teaches them to play that way. They have probably more fighters and enforcers than any team in the league next to Anaheim. Hell, even their better players like Mike Richards always fight on a regular basis. That's just the way the team is built and how they play. Don't confuse it with me actually wanting the Wings to play like Philly, because that would be a disaster. The Flyers are an awful team, are under horrible management, and are a losing organization in general. Still though, that comes to my point that they do have plenty of toughness, and badly outmatched the Wings in all apsects of that. On paper, there is no way the 2006-2007 Flyers should have even been in the same building as the 2006-2007 Red Wings, but as it happens, the Flyers kicked our ass. Not that it matters now, but I'm just saying...

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

Thank you. Finally, someone else understands that example. Everyone thinks I'm talking out of my ass here with this enforcer business, but it's an all to real reality. Just take a look at that Philly game. The Wings were totally outplayed in every physical sense of that game, which is the main reason why we lost 6-1 to the NHL's worst team. Not because they had more talent then we did (which is obvious they don't), but because their players clocked the hell out everyone on the Wings, and the lack of an enforcer made it all the more easier. But, no. Everybody seems to think the Wings are perfect just because of one playoff year. Any questioning of the team or Ken Holland us all spoiled fans apparently.

    Chris Simon re-signs with Islanders

Oh? Then what is it? Everytime a suggestion is made about a gritty player, you come off like he'd be a cancer to the team because he has over 100 penalty minutes. Sorry, but a group of classy soccer dads isn't going to win a Stanley Cup. Like it or not, gritty players usually aren't classy. Guys like McCarty, Kocur, Probert, and players of the like were far from classy, yet we still won with them in the lineup. Edit: I should clarify that I do not want Chris Simon here, because he isn't the same player he was 5-10 years ago, but this isn't the first time you always throw in the question of intergrity everytime a gritty player or fighter is mentioned.

    Brett Hull gone?

There goes his 10 seconds of TV fame. Half a season isn't a very long time.

If he signed with an NHL team, then yes, he would be.

Favourite Moment of the 06/07 Regular Season?

Steve Yzerman retirement night. Not a single event during the season even comes close to that. That was just a purly amazing night.

    Yzerman's All Time Ranking

No, Jagr will never recieve that kind of recognition, mainly because of his attitude. Especially the year Lemieux came back out of retirement and Jagr wouldn't let him be the team captain again.

    Chris Simon re-signs with Islanders

I love when you talk of team integrity like that, like it's mandatory that the Wings be a group of classy old Englishmen that would rather spend their time playing golf. I guess we should hand them out tea and crumpets before each game starts, and have them wear bibs while their skating so their jerseys don't get dirty, right? Oh, I'm sure it would have been 450k, but not much more. Maybe, at most, he would get 1 million from a team that needed toughness, but nothing more than that.

    The "Sports Leader" killing hockey?

The coverage of events on ESPN isn't that bad. I think their college basketball coverage is very good since they got into that. It's SportsCenter that really makes me want to throw gas over the TV and burn it. The highlights are basically bare minimum, and like I said before, the news anchors they have on there anymore are the most illiterate people I've ever seen when it comes to sports. You think some of these women anchors have never seen a baseball game in their entire life they way they describe things.

    New preds Jersey

I thought 3rd jerseys were being eliminated starting with this season. Their going to brought back again? Eh, no big deal. I don't forsee the Wings making a drastic change for the 3rd jersey if they have to do it. If it is anything, it might just be like you said, being the style they used in '92.

Wings interested in Forsberg, Selanne, Markov

It's basically the same thing. Discussion or not, I can pretty much guerentee neither of those players will play for the Wings. I would like them to sign here, but I don't see it happening. Especially Selanne. He'd be leaving a situation he's very comfortable with in Anaheim, and for what exactly? These guys didn't say they would never play for the Wings. All they said was that they had teams which they wanted to sign with, none of which included the Wings as one of them.
