I love stupid rumors. Forsberg is going to retire, as the man can hardly walk anymore. Even if he doesn't, he has stated that he only wants to play for 3 teams: Colorado, Philadelphia, or Nashville. The Wings have a better chance of landing Dany Heatley for Kopecky and Lilja than ever signing Selanne. He has also said he would only play for one team: Anaheim. There, end of story. Let's go after a realistic option here people, like Jeff O'Neill.

McLennan sucks. That's why he's going to play in Russia, not just his one incident on Franzen. Calgary has no use for him now that Brent Krahn is ready to be the backup.

Not a word of that article surprises me. I do agree with the people who say ESPN has become a pretty horrible network in general, even without the NHL. Some of the guys they have on for SportsCenter (or girls shall I say) are damn airheads when it comes to sports. I could do a better analogy of a baseball game blindfolded with the TV on mute better than the morons they have on that network now. I don't even watch SportsCenter anymore, because it's garbage. FSN's Final Score is a decent highlight show, and the people on there aren't a bunch of bricks that don't even know sports like the people on SportsCenter now. It's ridiculous to see a good sports network like that go down the s***ter. ESPN sucks for a variety of reasons not including not having the NHL. Sigh... unless Versus becomes the next big network, things won't be changing anytimg soon. I kinda hope Versus does come out on top though, because ESPN blows. edited for grammar

I think Cloutier and Crawford are both ***. How else could you explain the fact that he actually thinks Cloutier is a decent goalie, and a starting goalie at that? Cloutier is a nutcase, so his sucking could come from being such an *******. But, Patrick Roy did beat his wife, and he was one of the most successful goaltenders ever to play the game. So I guess in this situation that logic is flawed.

The Islanders will probably overpay up the ass to get him too. Not a big loss in my opinion. He was being a real jerk about the money. I don't know how he comes off like he's worth 4 million a season or something, because he's not.

Usually these games come around once or twice every season. They appeared to have shown their heads a little early this year, since the last blowout by KC came before the playoffs started last season. Eh, oh well. We're still ahead of Cleveland by a game at least.

Exactly. This guy is nothing but some blowhard who sits around and spews his hate for the Wings, like Detroit and Chicago are still rivals or something. Note the fact that the Wings and 'Hawks rivalry has been dead for about 12 years now, or more depending on how you look at it. Chicago has done nothing the past 10 years. In fact, during that time period, they have made the playoffs only once, and were docked in 5 games by St. Louis. Nothing to be proud of. I don't mind a little good natured ribbing and what not, but this guy is just a troll, and a pretty damn stupid one at that. The guy acts like Havlat is an instant lock to the HOF.

Bryzgalov sucks. No. Huet is ok, and would be a decent stop-gap goalie to have. I wouldn't mind having him. Halak isn't that good, and I highly doubt he'll be NHL by that point. Plus he's an RFA, and that would mean trading or making an offer sheet. Montoya is totally overblown for what he's worth, and at this point, still hasn't played a single NHL game. Again, also an RFA, and would mean trading or offer sheets. Huet would be my #1 choice, since I generally like him and think he's a pretty good goalie.

That's a pathetic argument. Yashin wouldn't be getting "minimum wage". He'd be making almost 2 million a season. That's the confirmed amount teams were offering him. Considering that he's also making 3 million a season from his buyout, that's 5 million total, which in my opinion is already overpaid in his case. If his wallet isn't full, he's not happy. I can see that unless he's making the most amount of money he possibly can, he'll just be a patetic baby about it. Like his marketing ploy of saying teams "low balled" him. 2 million dollars for a players of his laziness isn't lowballing at all.

That's something I can't figure out. Everybody acts like we're speaking in greek or something everytime Holland is involved. Those of us who don't believe in the fact that Ken Holland is God have generally good reasons why he isn't, but yet again, it's like talking in a foreign language to them. I really appriciate the attacks that I get around here at that same time, like if I question Ken Holland, it's insulting the entire Red Wing organization, and all of a sudden I'm labled as a spoiled fan. I don't see any of this making a difference though. These people all seem to believe that Ken Holland is the highest authority in the entire world, and if you talk down to him, you'll be banished to hell.

Well, that is definitly a true statement. The Arron Ashams of the league are all very important parts of teams, much to the disbelief of those who always try to discredit players of that role. It's the way you worded it before. I probably did misread it.

Because apparently complaining makes us bad or spoilied fans. That's a good example though. Everybody else acts like Holland is the only one who has a say in things, because people around here compliment the guy until they turn in the face. I don't hear any "Good signing Jim Nill" or "Good signing Steve Yzerman" topics or anything like that, even though they all have just as much as much say in the matter as Holland does. But, whatever. Like you said earlier in the topic: Holland has brainwashed everybody into his line of thinking, that toughness does not belong in the new NHL.

So I guess the majority of the Wings front office prefers weaker players then? I love how you like to brand me in the same group as Lou, but I'm not on this purely for entertaiment sake like he is. Look at our team right now. Over half of our forwards are under 6'0. The ones who are over 6'0, like Samulesson and Kopecky, all play like Grade A pansies. Not all of them, but most. They have nobody that will go out and defend each other. I know earlier you questioned that logic, but look at it in a different view. Look at what Raffi Torres did to Williams. Look what Dallas Drake did to Lebda. Did anybody go after those guys after they did blatent cheapshots? No. Those plays were not big checks that were clean. They were dirty hits that should have been dealt with by the players, but weren't at all. Instead, everybody sit around and waits for the referee and Colin Campbell to deal out the punishment, which I'm getting really sick of. It makes the Wings look like wusses. Why is it so God awful that I question Ken Holland? I don't understand it. He hasn't and doesn't replace the toughness that's been lost over the years, like Harold said. Look at all those guys we lost. Who have they been replaced by? Nobody.

Oh please. Don't give me that typical BS. Even before his injury, Kopecky wasn't doing anything at all. Hudler, for as much as a rag on him, was at least producing, in what was probably even worse minutes. Kopecky is 6'3, and yet, doesn't hit or fight at all. That doesn't over very well in my book. Guys that are big, yet soft, are pretty useless if they can't score goals either, and Kopecky's 1 point in 26 games is proof of the fact that he has little to no offensive ability at all. I love when people try to make a case for Kopecky, because really, it's quite pathetic. I'd rather play Matt Ellis, because at least Ellis showed desire when he played, and he was mildly physical. edited for grammar

Because Bettman is a puppet, and the team owners are the puppetmasters. The greediest owners like Bill Wirtz and Jeremy Jacobs love Bettman, and they play him like a flute because he's such a wuss. They basically have control over whatever he does. The owners are Bettmans bosses. Sigh... I don't think Bettman will be going anywhere anytime soon. The fans may hate him, but the owners love him. And when was the last time Bill Wirtz and Jeremy Jacobs actually cared about the fans?

Too bad we can't just re-up Dom until then. Honestly, I'm skeptical about Howard, because he's inconsistant. And this is in the AHL, so why should I believe he will be NHL ready? Hopefully he does have a great season in GR so I feel better about him being the starting goalie.
