so this isnt a rumor or anything, but i live in the greater phili area or flyers country and have many flyers fans. i hear many convos about what the flyers will do in the offseason and how they will have about 20 million in cap room left. they were talking about signing a good defenseman, and Datsyuk. i can see the flyers possibly shelling out the 7 million for him, cause they will have the room. does anyone else think this will happen, cause i hope not. but that is one team that i bet would shell the money he wants

we want bert because of his hard ass ways, but what if now after the moore incident hes not the type of player we are looking for because he will be to afraid to defend teamates after what happend last time. I know i would think twice after something like that happend to me. hopefully he wont and will still hit hard and stand up for teamates, but i know in the back of his head he will be having second doubts as to do so

other than lids, the only one i would love to see would be shanahan because he does deserve it. but feds would be good as well. imagine having the glory years in a nutshell looking up at the rafters and seeing 5, 19, 91, and 14. thats all anyone would have to say. that would be fantasmic

sooo the nhl really needs to get back on a major network channel, because the all star game rating was crap. maybe if people who watched sports were watching espn, could be filled in on when the game was happening, or even have it on nbc. like nobody watches OLN or now Versus...nobody, i hardly ever catch games on that channel because i dont usually watch it for anything else, center ice is what i use. but the nhl really needs to get back on espn, and have nhl tonight(loved that show) and back in the usual swing of things. cause if things keep going like this, things arent looking good for the league. even on nbc, where nbc would have commercials and keep the casual fan informed so maybe they would remember it. plus, half the people i know dont even have the versus channel. o and talk about making the all star game crappy, alright the game was good, but they really screwed up on pickin players. I dont care about the lets get someone from every team in. thats not what is gonna get u ratings, its gonna be star power, not skill power..lets be honost. even though some of these players were injured, how the hell do u leave out players like, kovolchuk, hasek, dats(for entertainment with his moves) jagr, kozlov, etc. for players likke justin williams. what u need to have is the big market players on big market teams, even though thats not the fair thing to do, thats what gets ratings and everyone knows it. plus they need to stop showing games on versus that consist of st.louis-chicago or colombus-florida if i could run the nhl, or anyone who knows hockey and the american people, im sure we could do a much better job than this. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/allstar2007/...tory?id=2746344

what is preventing versus from showing games all the time? is it the cost, because since they have rights to nhl, they can show all the games they want right? im sure they can put every other worthless show on that channel on hold, because some of the stuff they show there is jsut soo stupid

i was at an La kings game on vacation in cali and saw avery play, and i was impressed. in person, he looked fast, made hits, had a fight and scored the game tying goal with 20 secs left. i think that is exactly what we need for the playoffs. he brings energy and grit to our team. he is perfect, plus hes played here before and the players loved him. i dunno why u wouldnt want him, so what hes a punk. as long as hes on our team thats fine with me. he plays hard, hits, fights, and scores timely goals. perfect for playoffs. i would totally give up a pick for him and see what happens. make the trade holland. make the trade

everyone says they would take fores, but can anybody really picture peter foresberg raising the stanley cup in a wings jersey? how weird would that be, that would just put a sour taste in my mouth that i wouldnt want.. so pass on fores.

i remember that game so much, that was pretty much my first hockey game i watched, with my dad and h is friends watching, i remember crying after seeing all that blood from foote, cause i was too young to know anything, but anyways does anyone have a clip of that, cause i loved seeing it and would love to see it again

the ratings suffered with espn because towards the late 90s the game started becoming slower and more boring to casual fans, but now its diff so i hope we can get a shot on espn again, cause im very optamistic about a better showing, plus im sure anything is better then the crap ratings its getting on oln. and i hope, just hope that detroit meets colorado int he playoffs, cause who knows, thast what might add the edge to that rivalry again

i realize that hockey on espn was getting poor ratings towards the end of its run but the game was soo boring at many times. the "new" nhl is a more different game that could jumpstart the sport again with shootouts and faster pace and all. just think of how hot nhl was in like 97 or 98, i remember seeing a sports illustrated cover saying NHL HOT, NBA NOT. now with a new game, and hopefully a schedual change sometime soon, and a good detroit colorado rivalry jumpstarted again(im praying) , i think the nhl will do better then it did in 04. does anyone know if the nhl has the option of leaving versus and going back to espn, or are they locked in a contract with versus for a while?

those were the days, i really want detroit and colorado to meet up again in the playoffs, maybe that will spark up the rivalry again. Nothin, and i mean Nothing compares to watching those games and how intense they were, but at least it went out with a bang in 02. that series was the greatest hockey playoff series i have ever watched.

look at the team kolzig is on, a team with no defense that leaves him out to dry every night. you cant take his numbers and say that he sucks. Put him on a team with some support and he will be great, if u remember he did take the caps to the finals against the wings. he is solid and i would put him above mediocre, but at this point in his career, i would not say he is great
