this is probably the most exciting end to the season in the last 10 years. so many teams battling for not only the playoffs, but the seeds too. the flyers who are in 8th, can be 4th withing their next 2 games. its all so crazy, yet awesome. i dont know about you guys, but i am really glad that our team has clinched, so we can sit back and enjoy all of this, without worrying if our team will be affected by any of it.

the average salary may have been around 45 mill. but there were teams spending on both sides of the spectrum. sure colorado, detroit, and new york were spending 80 mill. but there were teams like edmenton, nashville, and colombus spending like 20 mill. therefore some teams really had no chance to compete or sign any players. now its alot more even and the cap FORCES teams not to be cheap and spend the money to get the players. the cap floor now is like twice of what nashville was spending for their roster 4 years ago. this gives fans hope that their team can land any free agent= parity. at least for the most part

if someone can answer me this question. at the end they said that vernon had a clause in his contract that said if the wings win the cup, he gets another year on his contract. well they won the cup, but he was playing for the sharks the next year. how did that happen? i was too young to know contract talks and stuff. did he get traded?

unrestricted means that the player can sign anywhere he wants to and nothing can stopp him. REstricted means that a player cannot sign anywhere he wants, and that any team an make him an offer sheet, but the team hes from can match that and he would have to stay with that team. or they could let him go and be compensated with draft picks, which vary depending on the skill of the player, hope this helps and welcome

i remember a couple years ago, everyone on this board was all about him and wanted him in a wings jersey. well that didnt work out and now hes been bounced around and hasnt done much. but hes a UFA after next year, and with the leafs kinda sucking(except recently) do u think we could trade for him. i mean, hes a big body guy that hits and can pitch in if in the right place. what do u guys think?

the red wings have always been a team where someone like this has come, and blossomed, Dan Cleary for example. If we can get mark bell dirt cheap, say for like sammy. he plays hard and turns into that power forward that everyone thought he would be, it would be a steal. if not, hes only got one year left on his contract at 2 mill or so. i think its worth the risk.

the preds are one of two teams that i would actually WANT to play. then or the avs, even though a healthy avs team scares me a little. we wipe the floor with nashville. i see them as no threat. their goaltending is beatable, they can play dirty but we will have the likes of mccarty drake and downey to whoop ass if any of the players try to be dirty. i think this team is ALOT more gritty than last year with mccarty, downey, cleary, drake, lilja(pain train), franzen, holmstrom all big bodies and can dish and take punishment. this is a totally different team and a team that can hang with the likes of calgary nash or others

if u watch caps games, like last night for example. the thrashers had their goalie pulled when they were still only down by one with a min to go. who did the coach put out there? thats right AO, the poor defensive player. im pretty sure in a game where you really need a win and cannot afford to lose any points, that you really have to trust the forwards you put out there to kill that last minute.

i disagree. because u said brad pitt is stalkable, because hes an entertainer. well thats what they players are too. they are idols and they bring us great joy and memories. for that i think it is worth talking about meeting them. tell me if u saw steve yzerman in person where u were, ur heart wouldnt skip a beat and you would treat him like anyone else. bratt pitt, steve yzerman, to red wings fans, its all the same.

ivve never had an HD tv before, but this year my roomate in college is buying a plasma screen thats pretty nice. and we usually get center ice. since i have no experience with hd i was wondering how many games center ice offers in hd and what channels would those be on? and does every versus game come in hd? for anyone that knows this, thank you

one thing i never understood. Why dont they show replays at the arena on the big screens. or do they, cause i thought they didnt

yeah, its done all the time. just sit in your seats for the first and scope out a certain area where u see empties. monitor that area and if u see its empty at the end, ur good to go. just go there when everyones moving around during the intermission. plus even if u get caught, all they will do is tell u to go back to ur seat. plan B. go right to the front where the players entrance is, and just sit somewhere, when people start filling in, just move around ur area and u might get lucky enough that nobody has those seats and ur right there, front row from the start. this works for me but not always. hope this helps....everyone does it

i dont really blame him. if i was in his position i would do that exact same thing. why wouldnt u want to leave that s***hole that is the blue jackets for ur old team where u didnt want to leave in the first place, and which is reuniting the old gang with forsberg returning. as much as i dont like him, i dont blame him one bit for what he did. if only other players had more loyalty.
