speakin of Mac. whats his deal? is he gonna retire after that injury? i know he still needs to play cause he needs money, but what teams would take him and i wonder what hes got left in the tank. would anyone be opposed to signing him as like a 13th forward to fill holes if players get hurt? pay him league minimum and only play a couple games a year. i doubte it but thats the only way i ever see him being a wing again

can someone please explain to me once and for all why everyone is in love with ryan smyth? i really do not think he is worth the time. honestly i think its a joke how every other team wants him so bad. why? what does he bring that homer doesnt? especially after seeing homer in these playoffs. f*ck smyth. if we can have bertuzzi id rather have him. plus lets not forget that we have grigorenko who will pretty much have to get a roster spot or he will leave our organization for good. so lets look at lines for next year flip-dats-bertuzzi homer-zetter-grigs maltby-draper-cleary sammy-hudler/FA-franzen lids-kron lebda-markov/schnieder/FA/quincy/lilja cheli-kindl(almost made team last year)/quincy/any other prospect/lilja hasek osgood i think this team would be fine plus with the addition of a good deadline player (feds?) also if we were to sign anyone in free agency to replace lang, i think a good cheap option would be kozlov. if hes cheap. if we cant afford it then stick with this. id like to hear your opinions . thanks

guys, i think that u toss away the colorado rivalry too easily. the red sox and yankees have been playing each other for like 80 years. do u think that a fight starts in every game, or they are both great every year? no, but that doesnt mean u just stop disliking them. same for carolina and duke. longtime rivals but some years arent as good as others. i think the reason we dont have any is cause we easily toss away a team after they arent that big of a challange. just wait, i can see colorado getting good again next year, witht he right signings, and then all we need is a close playoff series and were back in the saddle. so instead of picking one, lets just let it come to us. plus, i do like the point about calgary. i do have strong feeling of hate towards them as a team and their fans as human beings. haha well maybe not that bad. but we'll see

yeah i started playing hockey in middle school. now i play for penn state. but after that i plan on playing in adult leagues all my life no matter what i do, because i cant imagine not playing.

this isnt a thread for morozov comming to detroit. i was just wondering if anyone thinks he will be in the nhl next year. what kind of salary would he command? and what team would take him. i personally think that if things dont go the red wings way in free agency and they have alot of extra cap room to play with, why not bring him in. i dont think i would call it "taking a chance" anymore, because this guy is really in his prime and tearing up the second best league in the world, plus he was also amazing at the world championships with nhl talant. any thoughts?

you know, i never really appreciated holmstrom untill this playoff season. i knew he was great and the chemistry was good, and he was great in front of the net, but now he really is such a HUGE player for the team. i never really noticed untill recently how big he really is for them and how they need him in the lineup

i think with the exception of a few calls, we wernt really screwed, we just took bad penalties (bertuzzi). i think that we had some chances and if we didnt stop playing in the second, we had this game. so if we can play a full game on wed. we should be fine

i used to love cleary alot because i thought in a way he reminded me of doug brown, and i loved doug brown who used to be one of my fav wings, but now cleary def surpassed that and is on a whole other level.

more like PK is attrocious. but hasek has been crap the last 2 games. it really makes me mad. they just suck playing on the road in canada. maybe im fuming, but this game made me see glimpses of last year which makes me really angry

if the avs get foresberg int he offseason(which by the looks of it, they will) and maybe drury, they could be very dangerous next year. i think with the return of fores and drury, we could be getting into some pretty damn good hockey between the two teams again, which is great news

guys, if we boo him, he wont wanna come back here. even though it doesnt offend me that he gets booed, i think we should start cheering for him, so when hes a free agent he will come back and play for penneis just to be a red wing again....i know, its a pipe dream
