yeah, so what's preventing a team from signing Someone for a 20 year, 10 Million dollar contract, with 9 Million the first year, and the extra million, spread out over the next 20. Would that then be a cap hit of $500,000 a year? What would then stop them from "renegotiating" that Contract at the end of the year, and come up with the same deal?? Using this method, you could pay a player anything you wanted, while maintaining a minimal cap hit.

Wondering around what people are paying for their playoff tickets. Just read that someone paid 250$ for 2 5th row lowers. that's not bad actually. I'm looking to get in at around 40-60$ and not be in an upper corner. I've been to 7 games this year, and not once paid face value for tix. Wondering what the Scalpers were saying last night. They usually start real high, but can be talked way down. Last game I went ot I got 3 76$ tickets (lowers - Value 228$) for 180, 60$ a piece. I'd advise everyone to stay away from ticket brokers and those other sites....you can sometimes find a steal on ebay, but you should never have to pay Face value to get into a sporting event.

You Need to really appreciate the Team for the next year or two then. Pretty soon, you'll be saying "Remember the good old days when we Still had our core? Thinkingabout Trevor Linden, playing possibly his Last ghame for Vancouver. I just checked, he only has 895 Points, this being his 19th year in the leage. that's an average of just over 50 points a year. not spectacular. But really, he's been the Face of the Canucks franchise over the the past 20 years, Even when he wasn't with the team IMO. He never scored 40 goals, and his best year, (95-96) he had 87 points. will his Jersey Be up in the Rafters? I think so, here's some other potential players for other teams. Let's see some replies with yes or no, next to each name, with reasons if you want. Anaheim - Only potential players I think would be Kariya and Selanne. Kariya was the original Face of the Franchise, Played 9 years for them, and no one will ever forget what he did for them in the 03 Playoffs. Selanne Spent 6 years with the team during his original run, and now is in year number nine. Not so much the Face of the Franchise as Kariya, But Scored 50 goals twice for them, and Did win a Stanley cup with them. whether Selanne REtired last year, this year, or even plays another year, i think you'll remember him as a duck. Atlanta. Kovalchuck He's played 6 years. If he were to Get traded in the Off Season (not going to happen) Has he done enough in a thrashers jersey? It's a team by team look at players who could potentially have their numbers retired. Pat Falloon, IMO the Greatest Player Not in the Hall of Fame. The Fact that #17 is Still in Circulation is a disgrace to Hockey. If I don't See Pat in the Hall, and His Number Retired Within the Next 3 years, I will stop being a fan of hockey.

I went to the game too, and I thought Hudler's looked better than he has in the past 2 months. The first 2 goals, I said ozzie didn't have a chance on. The third, Osgood coulda have saved, but he got beat. That happens in sports. you get beat sometimes. OT Goal, I left right away, I dind't stick around to see it anymore on the replay Didn't think McCarty looked like he belonged on the ice tonight. He was skating hard, and giving everything he had, but just looked out of place so many times. Has a lot to do with not playing for so long, but at this point in the season, I have no problem giving him a "5 game tryout", but come playoff time, We need players that can help us win hockey games.

Wow, yeah, geez. Isn't it Terrible, when we've come to the day in age, where players actually LIKE TO SCORE??? That's awful. I'd rather when my team scores to just put their heads down and go to the bench. Better yet, when My team wins the cup, I'd rather see them not celebrate either. Everybody just go to the locker room, have the captain go shake bettwoman's hand, and then skate off....Don't want to show up the other team now. Better yet, lat's just build a bunch of Robots. that way when they score, we KNOW that there's no emotion there. Instead of some of these punbks that have emotion, but try and hide it. Anybody that has a problem with ovechkin isn't a real fan of hockey, or sports in general. You have no pride, no emotion, and no recollection of what it was like to be a kid and actually love the game. It's sickening to see people trash on A guy who, along with Crosby is going to revive this game, and make it exciting to follow again. And PS3 is way better than 360.

Well. it says right there "Single layer screen-printed twill personalized name and number heat pressed on the back " So they Are advertising heat pressed as opposed to stitching. I'd advise just taking them in to your local shop that does stitching. I got my Zetterberg from the Joe, and as was discussed before, the actual numbers on the back are too small. I knew that going in, and thought 155$ was still a decent price for the jersey.

Hell, Terry Sawchuck recorded 103 Shutout, let's dig'im up and Sign him too. Hey, I loved D-mac, I actually went to school with and grew up with his Cousin. I loved how he pummled Lemieux. But it's 2007-08, and not 1997-98. He isn't that player anymore. Without his goal in 1997, we would have still had a 1-0 lead, up 3 games to 0 in the series. Without his goal, we might have kept the pressure on and someone else scored. Or at least kept Philly From Scoring, and won 1-0. With out his goal, the score might have been 1-1, and we win in OT. Or if we lose that game, That team would have won one of the next 3 games. WE still would have won that cup. The entire Championship did not rely on 1 goal. It was a great goal, but being game 4 of a 3-0 series, I think it's kind of an overrated goal.

heh, Tickets in the REd.....WEll, they're all red Seats here. Right now, your best bet would be to come and get them from a scalper, for a weeknight game. I've been to 3 games already this year, and haven't payed face value yet. I spent 65$ for 2 Tickets valuing 108$ (total) On Wednesday. Tonight, I spent 50$ on 76$ Tickets. If your'e worriedabout that, you should be able to get tix at the Box office, or, if you don't want to risk a sell out, there's always ticketmaster A good idea would be to get cheap tickets via Ticketmaster, If you want to be sure you'll get in, then Find a Scalper with Great tix, offer a trade up...say an extra 20$ a ticket, for lowers.....the best seats I've ever had At Lions or Tigers games were by going with cheap seats and trading up for a little extra. cheli's is either a 20 Minute walk or a 5 minute drive away....but with traffic around game time, it'll probably be a 20 min drive anyways. You should go to Cheli's for lunch, then go to Hockeytown (around the corner, kinda, from Cheli's) for a few beers.... 3$ Miller High life's Hope you Come and Have a great time! Bought my 155$ Zetterberg Jersey at the game last night. Must say I'm pretty happy with what I got. Remembering this thread, I did indeed pay attention to all the numbers. I noticed the size of the numbers on the players on the ice. the Number takes up pretty much the entire back. These Jerseys, it looks like the number's about 5 inches shorter than the real numbers. I looked at the 330$ jerseys and they had the actual sized numbers. I'm wondering if maybe they ran out of the right size??? Anyway, I looked aroung the areana, and saw many people with these smaller numbers, so I did not feel that they were fake. You know that feeling you get when your jersey is made by pro player instead of CCM or if you bought a jersey for 5$ cause the name was spelled wrong, or if you're wearing a Hatcher jersey. I still felt that my new RBK jersey was superior to a CCM Jersey with the correct sized Numbering. It would have been nice to get the real size, but I'm still happy. Especially since over here in windsor, the blank jerseys are going for about 130$, and with the lettering they're around 200. And since I paid 155$ American, (no tax) after Conversion, that's like only 10$ Canadian
