Real Wings fans know how great Ozzie has been and his accomplishments through out his career. There are always going to be idiots saying otherwise. I've heard the similar about Lidstrom and Brodeur. Last year Ozzie was treated with kid gloves. Ozzie played like s*** last reg season. Most other goalies play like that, their ass would be on waivers. That's reality. I hope it was just an off handed comment . Best thing he could do right now is mentor Howard and working his ass off in practice. When he is called upon he needs to make the best of it because that's whats best for the team and all he can control. Keep all the complaints private. Its not the ideal goal tending strategy, just the best one right now.

I remember hearing this. I dont remember reading or hearing about Yzerman going to the media with his displeasure though. I understand his frustration, but Osgood is going about it the wrong way. Especially with his latest comments which were way out of line IMO. Edit: I wish there was a video of the interview so I could hear Ozzie's tone of voice and body language.

No. Losing to the Stars or Wild would be worse because they are in our conference. Fighting for the same playoff spot the Wings are. More important than the Caps, who are in the east.

Right now, for all intents and purposes, Osgood is the back up. Howard is the starter. No 1a, 1b. Babcock has made that pretty clear, and I agree with him. Howard has started the last 12(?) games including a b2b a few days ago. He probably needed a rest. I love the guy, but it sounds like Ozzie needs to put his ego aside and be a team player. I dont know. What if an away fan throws something on the ice? I'd imagine if they made an announcement over the PA system warning the crowd the guy would stop or people around him would point him out.

Maybe the ref could call a delay of game penalty to the home team like they do for throwing stuff on the ice? Might be hard to enforce though.

There is a book called "When the Light Went Out" that goes into a detailed account of the incident. The author is obviously bias towards the Canadians, but a good read non the less if anybody is interested.
