I trust my game 7 victory to Pavel.

When "babies" act up,they need to be SPANKED!
-
At the beginning of this series I called the wings for the cup,and one of the babies will win the Conn Smythe. The NHL needs to make more commercials for next year on how great their posters boys are. Gotto make the fans happy at game 6 by giving them something to cheer about, before we lift the chalice.

Too Much! (but sooo true)

He would be better if he finished his checks instead of turning and skating away. Leino gives us another offensive weapon, which we seem to need.Give him a little time, its only his 3rd(?) game in the playoffs. He's got good hands and smarts around the net. He's got my vote over Malts this time.
-
Drapes gives us another faceoff winner, but leave Leino in and take out Malts. He needs to be more physical or he's not effective.
-
Just break them up...they have no chemistry. Dats,Zetts and Helm, and watch them go!
-
Assuming Lilja will not be back for the playoffs,is this our best possible lineup? Helm is here to stay (no arguments I hope). Draper in for Maltby is an upgrade on speed and faceoffs. If Rafalski stays healthy, that keeps Chelios and Meech out. The only question is Abdelkader. I thought he was very effective against the quacks, being a bigger body and he likes to hit,but now we will face a younger, faster and more skilled team. Is it the time to bring in our ace in the hole? Do we unleash our secret offensive weapon yet? Is it time for Leino now? Or do we play it old school and never change a winning lineup?

I agree, retooling should take place during the regular season, but throwing in Leino for 8 to 10 minutes a game in the playoffs won't hurt us,but I'll bet it will hurt the Hawks. These guys have to get playoff experience sooner or later. Remember Helm last year in the playoffs? Not bad for a rookie with no experience. I think adding a new ingredient to the mix will spice things up. Leino is not a spring chicken,I believe he will take his defensive responsibilities seriously, when he's not putting the puck in the net.
-
With all the talent and youth patiently waiting in GR,why would you want to keep Malts? His time has come, thanks for the memories, but let some of the kids play and renew the team.
-
I think that Leino gives us another offensive weapon that nobody would anticipate, especially the Hawks. He would have lots of room to manuevre since he would probably face their 4th line.Let them focus on Dats,Hossa, etc, and I'll be happy taking a goal or 2 from our 4th line. The only question is,do we take out Abdelkader, who gives us grit and hitting? Tough call,as I'd like to see them both in.

I know that our big guns have not produced (Hossa,Dats, and even Zetts to a lesser extent),but these players have proven themselves in the past playoffs and regular season. Filppula has had SO many chances to score (at least 4 last night),and he can't seem to put one away! The team needs a player making 3mill to score sometimes... I know,he can skate and pass and checks well, but around the net it seems he's has no "finish" Is he 'pine furniture',or just lost his confidence?

After watching and assessing Hossa's performance so far in the playoffs,is everyone still gung-ho on signing him long term for big bucks? I've watched this guy all year long and have considered him to be a sniper and a tank, and would be in favour of a long term contract, but he seems to be one dimensional offensively so far in the playoffs. I know he's a great backchecker, but his main skill seems to be the quick wrist shot at every opportunity. There have been times when linemates were open (Franzen today),and he chose to shoot, almost intent on coming out of his slump. Seven million in cap room can buy a lot of quality players out there. Am I off base on Hoss,or do we sign him long term?
-
While watching game 7,I was waiting and hoping that Hossa shows up,but I didn't see any cause to get excited. If he's at the height of his career and not a factor in our biggest game, please explain why we want him for the next 7 to 8 years, and mess up our cap long term?
-
Succinctly summarized. Good player, but needs to finnish sometimes.
-
I wish we had 6 Helms for our 3rd and 4th lines.
-
It will be the exuberance of youth vs the wiley veterans. Hoping the Wings in 6,but they may be emotionally spent for that first game this weekend, after dealing with the dirty ducks.
-
I think he's got all the skills and potential to be a star, but just put the damn puck in tonight!
-
Impact player with little ice time. Last year,I believe he was top 4 on the team in playoff scoring, again with little ice time.
-
I'll take the 1997 version of Maltby anytime over Leino for this series, but the new Maltby doesn't score,or hit,or intimidate. He doesn't bring anything to the table.
-
Tomorrow night, this is my Stanley cup.
-
He made if close with that nice pass to the Mule.
-
I'll take a little of Leino over none of Maltby
-
You also have to remember,he's at the height of his career right now. If we sign him for 7 more, they will be on the downside ,and tie up a lot of cap room.
-
We were down and needed a goal. He has shown some talent in that respect. Maltby however, not so much...
