I'm sure you have all heard the hockey cliche on the highlight reels,"and he beats the goalie like a rented mule!" How about this one,"our rented MULE beats Kipper!"

Let's wait and see how the playoffs go.Kenny made some huge gaffes last year signing Lily pads and Samuelson before the playoffs began, only to realize he has overpaid. It would be nice to bring up some young 'diamonds in the rough' defencemen and letting them develop. It seems to be a young man's game more now than ever. Take a look at Buffalo, where do they find these kids that seem to fit in and contribute? Thanks for the memories ,Schneids, but its time to say goodbye.

He's had a retinal detachment and repair from that injury. If he takes a punch in the eye,he'll probably lose the sight and his career in hockey. The visor is a must, and fighting is far too risky. Maltby always elevates his game in the playoffs when it counts.

This is a good deal if Bert is 50% of his old self.If he comes back rejuvenated and 100%,it may be the best deal of the year. If he is the Bert of old,and we resign him,it may be the steal of the decade. If he's a dud,we haven't given up much, but if he's healthly and motivated,it may go down as one of Detroit's greatest aquisitions.

This team seems to be missing veteran leadership on offense. Please don't mention Lang, and Zetts is great, but he needs some pressure taken off him.
-
He's a great skater and can handle the puck, but he needs to work on his finish. He can get the puck to the net,but rarely does anything happen. Having said that,he is a diamond in the rough and a big part of our future.(I'm sure other teams are asking for him in trade talks, just say 'no' Kenny)

Just checked the standings in the morning paper. First place Nashville would face Calgary, while we would take on Dallas. Fourth place suddenly doesn't look so bad, does it?
-
If San Jose takes 4th spot, then everything changes.I think they are the last team we want to face.

Trade for second-tier players are Wings' only option
Zeke replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
We'll take on Lapointe's contract only if they take Williams off our hands. -
If it reduces injuries and speeds up the game, lets do it.

Wow! Thanks for the insights,I thought he would be a good fit on this team, but if we needed an *******,then we should have gotten Tkachuk.
-
He may not be the next Bobby Orr,but at least he sticks up for his teammates.(when Koivu was hit hard,he jumped the guy and was thrown out).

Its nice to see someone thinking outside the box.If we can load up on prospects and draft picks by unloading our deadweight,Kenny should have the onions to go for it. If someone offered you 3x the value of a stock, would you sell? We can turn those picks and prospects into a solid long term portfolio.
-
Its good to see we are looking at long term investments instead of rental players. Having said that,we still need some muscle for the playoffs, but Blake can hopefully pot a few for us.

If Schneids is moved or not re-signed,should we consider aquiring Aucoin from the Blackhawks.I know he's getting 4 mil per year, but I'm sure Schneids will be asking for 3 to 4 next year. I believe Aucoin is better defensively, but what about as a long term investment? Will he be worth the $ in Detroit vs Schneids next year?

Tell Lang he's on the second line, just limit his ice time to 5 minutes a game to minimize his ineffectiveness.

Two weeks ago the Toronto Sun reported that Florida was asking for a 2nd pick for Roberts, but would settle for a 3rd. I started a thread stating he would be a valuable playoff rental for the price, but the majority scoffed at the notion. That may have been the steal of the season,if it were true.

I'd like to see his younger brother on this team,RYAN Johnson(in St.L) From the few games I've seen,he seems fast, gritty and goes to the net.Any one know much about this guy?
-
They claim this device allows you to watch TV through the internet or cell phone, without incurring any monthly fees or costs, but I'm unsure as to how well it works. I'd suggest to talk to a rep in an electronics store.

Reason #6: Holland has about one week to make the biggest trade of his career, and we all know he doesn't have a reason to do so.(1 pt out of 1st)
-
Can Franzen be the missing 'power forward' we've been coveting? He's big, goes in the corners and seems to have good hands.Do we have a diamond in the rough?
-
Maybe for a 5th or 6th pick, just so we can say we made a trade. (like Cory Cross last year)
-
How about if he is not allowed to sign with the team that dealt him for 1 year?
-
One point out of first overall (the kiss of death?),we have a good mix of veterans and players in their prime, and players giving it a last shot. We have to go for it this year, but if someone wanted Lang or Williams,I think you can pry them from our cold dead hands.

Analysis: Price for players Wings might want is going up quickly
Zeke replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
Here's a novel idea: why not trade for a younger player who' s signed and will fit into our long term plans? I know the price will be higher, but you 'll get a long term investment instead of a quick fix. This type of trade will be much gutsier than Holland has performed in the past few years.(and also more difficult)
