Conklin is dressed to impress this season! he's really surprising me with his solid play

he's impressed me in a ton of ways and right there with Datsyuk, he has been the most consistent player this year. He's a big bodied superstar that is a good two way player - i dont think you can ever have enough of those types. great to see him as a Wing and his success thus far.

yeah im glad he got fired. is he still on the radio though? i remember i was initially excited when "parker and the man" came back to detroit radio but then i realized how little hockey they talked on their show, and how out of touch he and mark wilson were, and that was enough for me.

im digging the LGW unity on this thread. everyone realizes how huge of a game this is; and how the wings need to step it up in general; no more excuses. this isnt just another regular season game against an over-achieving sharks team - they look FOR REAL this time, and i could excuse this and expect to lose the game becaues Osgood is hurt but im not going to. im ready and waiting to see THIS red wings team do something. somebody to start a fight; somebody to throw their body around; waiting for team as a whole to play more consistent something!

what's to stop chris chelios from leading the team in scoring at the end of the season?

hearing that type of thing makes me think i dont appreciate Mike Babcock as a coach, that is awesome even though i think it's a no brainer come playoff time that it's Osgood that needs to go if this team will have any success. hopefully the Wings dont play down to their opponent tonight, that'd make me very sad. and is that a serious stat that the dallas penalty killing is at 57%?! go wings!

if the D keeps playing so average and the goalie situation keeps fluttering the Wings wont make it past the 1st round, and that scares me and its only december. take it for what you will.

i miss the zetterberg datsyuk and holmstrom line. they played amazing together. a win's a win, but i still feel a bit....weird after this one. still a good win though! rock on rex and cleary!

that'd be lovely. this whole up and down thing, is getting old. saturday's loss was just embarrassing; but i have total faith that the Wings can absolutely be the class of the league if they string together a few wins here. go wings! go duck huntin!

im not worried. the west coast thing was a thing with back to back games, and the Wings haven't played well on the 2nd end of the back to back in a few years now. but honestly, they havent been blowing everyone away like everybody thought, and that's okay, but i am slightly concerned but then again its only november.

i honestly am not sure if the Lions will even win one game this year. i have never seen such a bad football team. even the 2-14 lions a few years ago kept games kind of close, this is just a disaster.

they are so hideous. their 3rd from a few years ago looked fine, but these new ones.....no thanks!

i have been pleasantly surprised by Conklin. he's a very solid number two. and there should never be a goalie controversy here. what happened last year with Osgood and Hasek was something unique to itself i think. We had two proven, winning, veteran goalies on our team. Conklin cant and shouldnt be asked to lead the Red Wings back to the stanley cup.

plus could you imagine the talking heads on ESPN covering hockey? there is only a handful of people there who know about the game. but as much as i get annoyed with ESPN, it would be big for the NHL to potentially draw in casual fans to watch the league more; i cant be selfish about it. i wish there were some way that TSN could make a deal to be broadcasted in the US or at least places that are by Canada but i feel us fans would have the same problem we have with Versus. only people who really like hockey would want to see, and search for, networks like TSN. people who are fans of other sports could run into hockey games on ESPN and become fans. That's important for the league. There's no reason that hockey needs to be a "niche" sport - not when there are NHL teams in florida, california, georgia, and north carolina. Aside from all of the little annoyances that ESPN brings, its best for the league to be on that network, and if at all possible, Versus as well

that's the beginning of the entire problem with hockey on ESPN, even the idea of it. does anyone know that sportscenter has a "hockey night" ? its wednesday. its a joke. and even when hockey was on ESPN it was just thrown on espn2 and barely covered then. of course id be happy if the NHL was back on ESPN but at the same time i have to be honest with myself and say that i think people (myself included) would probably just complain about ESPN not covering hockey enough on the network. but at the same time hockey cannot grow in popularity in the US if it's on Versus albeit the ratings have been up, we all know it's nothing compared to even espn2

i got that feeling too. i actually like watching games when he does the color commentary. actually seems like a good guy who knows his stuff

i will be watching this one with great enjoyment. always love when the Wings and Flames hook up. any word on who's doing the game on CBC?
