no way Shanny is back. Like mentioned above him and Babs didnt see eye to eye, and his offense is declining sharply. Feds - im so sick of hearing about him coming back. just no Lapointe - i really dont see WHY we would want him back here unless to fill in what Drake did but not fight as much, and if it was a choice between Lapointe or Bertuzzi to take Drake's roster spot, im definitely going to try again with Bertuzzi.

reading HF boards it seems there was some serious love for Conklin in Pittsburgh. We all saw what a strong "back up" did this year..

so Rolston is off the board. most likely Hossa is off the board is he truly rejected the offer made by the Wings. sooo im still interested in: Naslund (no one seems to be talking about him) Bertuzzi Sundin ill be happy with any of these. my first choice out of these three is Sundin, Naslund, and then Bertuzzi.

if the Wings need to (eventually) let go of Filppula, Hudler,and Franzen for Hossa i dont knoww if Hossa is worth that...

i dunnnooo is losing Flip worth it, in terms of getting Hossa? as much as i lovee Val, it IS worth it... interesting stuff. but i can only give up Flip if Hossa is a multi year thing.

at least you're a reasonable person to toss ideas about players with! but my gut tells me he will NOT be coming back to the Wings. Too much seems to be going against that hope. His step daughter and wife living in California, and he just had a baby as many of us know. I just reallly dont see it happening... BUT i will say this: if Stuart ends up walking, i think the Wings should go after a player very much like him to pair with Kronwall, but the truth is, i have no idea who can really fill that hole in the FA market.

hey you're trying to bring up two issues and melt it into one. yeah i dunno why he seemed so... blase after winning the Stanley Cup. My "love fest" with Stuart is simply this: id MUCH rather have him out there all of the time, than Lillypads and Cheli out there all of the time. Stuart is quicker than both, throws his body around and is a great pairing with Nik Kronwall, Chips in a few goals, and like i mentioned in a post before, he made a huge keep in and assist to Rex Hudler. To be fair you have to know that anyyone could have done. Would you have torn into say, Lidstrom, the say way you are doing to Stuart? Of course not, even i woudnt, he's a hometown guy, and one of the greatest Defensemen ever. But i just think that the game 3 turnover is something that any dman could have committed,.

^ well said. he's everything everyone complains about wanting in a Wing. He will fight when he needs to, throws his body, in the time he's been here he has made ONE very noticeable and costly mistake to Selanne which everyone knows about.

i dont see how ANYONE could say that brad stuart was a liability in the playoffs. he threw huge hits, and was involved in one of the bigger plays in all of the playoffs where he held the puck in at the blueline and passed it off to Hudler right in front of the net where he scored and the Wings won that game. id MUCH rather have Staurt out there than Lilja, but who wouldnt? other than Lillypads himself...

im all about Naslund. ive warmed up to Sundin, but if we cant/dont get Sundin i say the Wings should go after Naslund hard.
