i watched the game on NBC yesterday because i figured at least i could do my own part and help out the US ratings... the first two games i watched were on CBC and the wings were dominant back to CBC i go...

and if homer is really out, downey should play.

i could just tell it wasn't the Wings game last night. homer hit the post, the costly unfortunate "turnover" that hit Zetterberg's skate and led to a Crosby goal and yet the Wings were still RIGHT THERE. im expecting saturday night to be a real dog fight. but if the Pens win then.... i dunno what to expect.

hey, they're not as bad as around the horn. although i used to somewhat like PTI, lately i just always find something better to do than watch them talk about trivial sports things or the NFL in the off-season!!

let me say this, and this is coming from a don cherry fan. what he said about datsyuk really got under my skin. this is the 2nd time he's basically mocked Pavel in two playoff years in a row. Cherry clearly prefers Canadian type hockey, but when Euros do it, it just seems all wrong to him. when Steve (forgot the last name) from sportscenter mentioned to Cherry how Datsyuk was retaliating with punches Cherry literally waved it off and rolled his eyes. i like him usually, but theres NO WAY i can defend him on this one...

what an impressive first two games. Wings are perfect thus far, OZZIE is perfect thus far. id love to see a sweep, but im not getting ahead of myself, still gotta shoot for the split on the road. absolutely shut down. TWO more wins for the Stanley Cup!!!!!

i was so pumped during game 1 yesterday when Kronwall was throwing his body, and when a Pen (i cant remember who) seemed to slightly flinch while he was taking the puck down the boards and then dumped it in. it was awesome, i think yesterday was Kronwall's best game yet these playoffs!

if your hockey sense is anything like your common sense i think you should go back to trolling your own board. detroit is a great hockey town and despite your total ignorance of the real issues at to why detroit has a hard time selling out games the last year or so (im quite certain every game during the conference finals was sold out) but it seems like a nonsensical person like yourself doesn't really care about reality.

according to the Pens message board i now dont even understand why the Wings are even going to show up. lets just forfeit games 1-4.

oh boy the Wings really made it happen last night. im going to be completely unbiased and truthful about my observation: i have watched many pittsburgh games throughout these playoffs. and of course i have watched every single red wings game this postseason. indeed the Pens have a GREAT offense. Crosby and Malkin especially - everyone knows that. BUT i will say this: the Pens definitely have NOT faced a defense with as much shut down power as the Red Wings and also: many of their games (most noticeably against the Rags and the Flyers) were at a slower pace than what the red wings play at. now im not saying that the Pens couldn't hang with the red wings with end to end hockey actually i believe quite the contrary but the Wings style and defensive core as a whole (save the 3rd pairing, they can be a bit shaky) seems like they honestly could handle the Pens and their top 2 lines. heres to a great series nonetheless, i really do think the Wings have a real shot at winning. all they really have to do is hold home ice, and get one at Pittsburgh. Chris Osgood, you are amazing. hockeytown, the Finals are here again. GO WINGS!
