id have a problem if Nashvilel set the tone for the series and took the 1st game...
-
Datsyuk and Zetterberg. even better this year. lets keep it goin boys. great season to you both, now make it happen in the playoffs the way we all know you can.
-
good! now he can rock tootoo...please?
-
Robert Lang, ftw! seriously though, good lookin thread. gets me pumped. im so ready for thursday i cant even focus in school.
-
also from that article: Lillypads to play in game 1, Lebda to sit.

wow tazzer82, that playoff uhm... "preview" was so one sided. id think that Nashville was the #1 seed! im sick of Nashville fans seemingly want to play us. i dont like that at all. hope the Wings take it to them hard.
-
figures game 1 would be on Versus. i want some ken and mickey while i can get it!!
-
as much as id absolutely love to see the Wings in the finals again, not at the expense of refs making calls go our way. lets not turn into the Junior Anaheim Ducks.
-
i definitely understand that, but Calgary would pretty much have to play a total different game than last year: they were exposed, undisciplined and Kipper was not good. certainly anything can happen and to me, the best that could come out of that series would be it going to 7 games. but even that seems to be a tall order. but who knows. Nabokov isnt exactly known as a shut down goalie either who can win a game or steal a series. either way, ill be tuning in..
-
do you really think thats possible? i mean if all of the experts are picking the Sharks to win it all, do you think Calgary, is indeed a 7 seed for a reason can take down who are right now the "favorites" ? dont get me wrong, id love to see it, i just dont know how likely it is, if at all.
-
does that mean every game from that series is going to be on CBC? since Calgary is the only West Canadian team in the playoffs..
-
Ott scores. 4 - 2 stars. yay the sharks are losing.
-
im not able to pull up this game on sopcast right now but i looked at the box score on yahoo sports and it lists both san jose goalies as played, did nabokov get pulled?
-
tell me about it, i already wish tomorrow was thursday. but i have to put things in perspective here, a few more days rested, or at least not playing games will allow more Wings back in the lineup.
-
this is exactly the type of game i was hoping to see from the Wings and more specifically Hasek today. He put the bugaboo Hawks away and pretty much gave up one goal when the team was playing bend and not break defense. i feel much better going into the playoffs seeing Hasek and the Wings sort of right the ship with a nice win today. Lidstrom looked great. Hudler somehow gets a goal and an assist, props to him.

Nashville does seem to be a sleeper team. no disrespect to them or their fans but A LOT would have to go wrong for the Wings and a lot must go right for the Preds for them to bounce us. i dont know what to expect from this series, but i feel i am confident in saying that the Wings will take it regardless. my reasoning is this: last year 1st round the Wings played the Flames and many people predicted an upset simply because calgary was the big beast from the Canadian west and they forechecked hard and had a very talented goalie in Kipper and a big time scorer in Iginla. The Wings took care of business in that series and bounced them in 6 games. in my opinion, the Red Wings are much better than the team that bounced the Flames just last year and i believe that the Flames are better than the Predators we're up against. with this in mind, i do however think that the Preds are capable of stealing a game because of Ellis, but if Hasek goes into the playoffs the way he has left the regular season, i think its very possible the Preds get steamrolled. thats the beauty of the playoffs... well see.
-
im pretty sure it already is? and if thats the case, the Caps may be able to take them out the way they've been playing the last couple of months.
-
basically.

nashville fan: where's that there catfish to throw?
-
i can dig seeing Naslund in a Wings uni. i know he had a down year this year, but as you guys have pointed out, players can come here and revive their careers. and for Vacouver, heck , that whole franchise might be gutted. Obviously after tonight Linden is done, id be shocked if Naslund goes back. thats taking away two very good players on a team that didn't mean the playoffs this year (albeit they obviously underachieved)

i also dont think Chelios will ever get his number retired in Chicago. for one, he gets booed there every single time he touches the puck, and secondly Brent Seabrook is already wearing his old #7 on the Hawks. if anything i think itd be with the Habs. but who knows, maybe the Wings will honor him...
-
i dont think Feds number should be retired here.
-
i wish the Hawks would have made the playoffs, i thought they would - but they've played the Wings tough as ever this year. lets round out the regular season on a good note, GO WINGS !
-
this is unbelievable what the Caps did. so happy for them, good luck Caps! i was rooting for them. AO the MVP!

downey has earned himself a permanent role on this and deserves playoff time. ps. so NO ONE is getting rested on sunday? im actually quite surprised by that...
