wings didnt exactly look "just better" today against a possible 1st round opponent.

maybe we'll choke in the 1st round. the way the Wings played this game has been bothering me all day.

man some of you guys are so brutal. lillypads is not that bad. at least he's physical. oh and i didnt even notice Ritola on the ice today so....

in regards to the game, anyone know what the start time is? the start time on my red wings schedule from little caesars says its TBA.

games like this somewhat worry me. a hot goalie.. steals a game, no scoring from the Wings. Luongo seems like he could steal a series BUT has he ever even won a series? no. and there's a reason the Canucks are hanging on for dear life to get into the playoffs. but im still apprehensive about playing them in the 1st round simply because hot goalies can steal an entire series, but last year's 1st round between the Canucks and Stars went to seven games, canucks advance, and then precede to get destroyed by the Ducks. i think the Wings can take the Canucks - it'd be a hard series, and i am indeed a bit scared of them, but they've been having score problems of late.. im just trying to forget about this game. reminds me wayy too much of the Wings of past and struggling to score goals against a hot goalie, but im not so naive to think this is going to be the playoffs - its one game with a good amount of guys out, including our starting goalie for the playoffs.

when is mccarty supposed to be in the line up? :/ either way, hope the Wings can down the Preds, a possible 1st round opponent, and send a message to them if these two were to meet in the 1st round. go wings!

weird, yet true. im here to give him some well earned respect and props. he's hustling like i have not seen him before, he's crashing the net, take better shots, and overall looking A TON better than ive seen him.

Datsyuk has been going crazy lately. im a bit concerned about Z's current stretch of no to little scoring, but all i care about is what he does in the playoffs great win!

wings clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight, more importantly lets see the Wings stomp out the outside shot of the Stars catching the Wings in the standings. it'd also be nice to see Zetterberg score. go ozzie go wings!

i usually watch both, but i can barely watch around the horn. i can definitely stomach PTI and Wilbon has made it clear that he grew up watching hockey so at least they know what they're talking about. around the horn? mehhhhh i like Cowlishaw and i think Woody Paige is funny. Mariotti or whatever? tool.

hawks hung in there, but the Wings were too much in the end. great rebound game ozzie. Franzen still looking good as well as the entire team.

that maltby - draper - drake line is really starting to excite me.

see, thats the one team i wouldn't want to face. the Canucks have been underachieving in the playoffs for the past few years and a series upset would spark that city and team. Plus, goalies can steal games, that can sway a series. Luongo seems like he could do that.

he did indeed do that - and it was awesome. but let's get real here folks, during mccarty's first stint here, he was never ever called upon to score goals. it was always a wonderful sight to see darren mccarty of all people net three goals against Patrick Roy. any offense from Mac will be a huge plus, but just from already hearing him speak about his return, he understands that he is going to be a role guy on this team.

always love watching the hawks and wings go at it - especially this season. if Ozzie is in net, this is an important game to get his confidence back. the return of mccarty is still delayed :[ go wings!

Chelios just seems extremely competitive, hopefully he'll deal, and prepare for the playoffs where we need him the most. as for Homer, i hope he comes back soon, and brings his usual self with him.

Hawks and Wings would be great.

Lidsyukerberg, thank you for the stats and your thoughts on the debate. im all for a rotation, i like them both for different reasons ,some reasons alike. i think both Drake and Downey have been playing better of late - a good problem to have.
