    Markov

i wonder if he might actually sit out an entire year? because of $$$$ demands.....wow.

    Jonathan Toews

i think chicago is going to be a serious play-off contender this year. yes it's early, but they already look better than all of last year, and this is without Havlat.

    Eating crow

good for you guys. i like downey more and more. he should be a keeper, kopay on the other hand....heh.

10/18 GDT: Red Wings 4, San Jose Sharks 2

so much for Rafalski playing bad. tonight was a great game from the Wings (minus the 1st period) .. got the secondary scoring, zetterberg still on fire, ozzie was rock solid. downey stuck up for the drake (my dislike for McLaren grew about 10 fold in just one game)

Hanta Yo Baby! (go wings!) ps. im tired of seeing the west coast penalty fest 07 edition. let's see it end tonight.

im really surprised that a lot of folks on here are predicting a Wings win despite not having Lidstrom and Zetterberg (at least the possibility of it) were going into the shark tank. against a powerhouse, without arguably our two best players, and our back up goalie starting (looking at this from an outside perspective).

i dont see the Wings taking this one. too many injuries. Z has been THE offense, and unless the secondary scoring forwards can prove me wrong, i gotta go with SJ in this one. go ahead, make me wrong Rex.

    Markov to the Bruins?

if markov wouldnt bend and forget about the mil that he'd lose in order to play in the NHL thatd be nuts. if thats the case, then ive never heard of someone being so hard headed to get paid.

    Doan requests trade ?

remember back in july folks. kenny talking about how he'd move some players for a top six forward. shane doan? ohh yeah. id go this way: Flip, Hudler and a 1st round. but if that happened, the Wings have some holes in their lines. if kenny could do this, id be amazed, yet happy. but again, deep down i feel like Phoenix would just be asking way too much like one of the untouchables. ZDH or Lids.

    Why isnt Osgood starting

very good point. that is one thing about Dom, he is very proud of himself and what he does. im not a fan of that exactly, i just want him to play like we all know he can and win big hockey games. as much as i LOVE ozzie, if there is any type of goalie controversy with the Wings, that wont be a good thing. i just dont know if ozzie can take us to that level of winning the Cup. i mean this isnt 9 years ago, love the guy to death, love to see him prove me wrong but, maybe a goalie tandem to the Cup? im way into that.

Watch NHL over the Internet - link?

http://hockeywebcasts.com/ is also another site that i use to keep up with the games online. you don't need any type of software other than the standard windows media player to watch many games and other times you get a link to a sort of, online tv player through a website. and also stay tuned with sopcast, when it runs properly, its awesome. granted the video quality isnt always the best, but hey, its free.

    Finally Downey is playing

very true. i dont mind sammy. i do mind some of his shot choices. samuelson: shoot first, ask questions later.
  13. let's all laugh about robert lang right now. that lazy fool. hey, lets put Grigs on the 1st line while were at it.

10/15 GDT: Anaheim Ducks 6, Red Wings 3

but wasn't that the enigma that Detroit put to bed last play-offs? didn't the Wings get past getting burned by West Canadian and California teams? i thought so. but after tonight, i just don't know. Hasek has looked sloppy early. tonight especially of course. like many have pointed out. of course it's easy to say to put Oz in, and id be for it if we didnt have Hasek riding the pine because of it. i don't know, i saw someone reply that we should rotate goalies until Hasek gets it together, i could buy that. why not give Ozzie a chance again? but it's going to take more time for Hasek to have a few bad games and Ozzie to sparkle (like he has been) for me to actually seriously consider Ozzie taking Hasek's job. thursday will be big against the sharks. defense: that's right, Lidstrom cannot do it by himself. Lilja looked absolutely horrible and all of his turnovers reminded me of last may and the Selanne goal. i dont even know what to do with Lilja. he looked so lethargic and ho-hum about playing defense. and like many of you folks, i can also concerned about the lack of secondary scoring outside of Draper. hudler and filppula and kopecky (he's the worst) have been terrible and have given zero production on the ice.

Draper hopes to ink 3-year deal

well this is good news about Draper! i was actually wondering what was in his future and i read here that he's looking for a 3 year extension. love it. and as for pay give him what he wants, i think he's earned it with his hard work on the ice and his loyalty to the team. plus he's having a good start to the season to boot; very happy about this news.

So is anyone regretting we got rid of lang?

i was seriously thinking about that this afternoon. hey, id like them to meet in the play-offs, but in the 1st round, that would just scream of another red wings early round exit. look at the board after a few tough luck loses to chicago (and no, chicago is not the worst franchise in sports, that title belongs to our lions) just imagine the wings get burned in the play-offs by that team. also: langer got another goal and assist in chicago's game tonight against dallas. and he scored the tying goal with 1.5 seconds left in the game.

10/14 GDT: Red Wings 4, Los Angeles Kings 1

so ready for the WIngs to get back on track, and better yet, they can do it before the weekend is done. awesome to see that Osgood is getting the start. no prediction, just want a competitive and fast paced game. maybe see a goal from the drake? that'd pretty much be wonderful.

So is anyone regretting we got rid of lang?

im a big Lang fan, but to be fair, he did look A LOT different than he did for most of the time when he played with the Wings. if Lang keeps up with his forecheck i think he seriously could reach 80 points in chicago. and id love to see it. i was just wishing that "do lang" got a spin at the Joe last night on "accident"

10/12 GDT: Chicago Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

Friday, October 12th: Lang strikes again. ' hawks worked hard, came back and took the game. im not even concerned about the wings. not at all. they'll be fine. but i dunno, the hawks obviously have a fighting chance this year if they continue to play the way they've started. and ill be happy for them. zetterberg: you're a monster. rock on. here's to sunday gang.

the drake; love it. looking forward to this one. get one for me drake! like to see the wings bounce back against a tough loss.

    NHL Center Ice

yeah the online version is fine, but it shouldnt cost the same as the tv version. small screen size, when you full screen it, quality goes down, and when youre paying $150, you dont want that. i thought about getting it , im not, go for it on the tv side. handsdown to me.

    10/6 GDT: Blackhawks 4, Wings 3 (SO)

i agree. if Khabibulin can play solid like he has early on, the blackhawks i think, will be a team that is in fringe of the playoffs fighting for a spot. they DO look different, but in order to make a serious run, they need havlat to be healthy and productive.

    10/6 GDT: Blackhawks 4, Wings 3 (SO)

the intensity of this game was playoff - like. i have to hand it to the blackhawks, they stayed right up with the Wings the entire time. and in the end one of the red wings vices since the "new nhl" comes to bite em : the shootout. i almost got everything i wanted in this game.. almost- no win. but all in all, this is good to see, i want chicago to be better this year. positive side: drake, loving you more and more. this is what the wings need. a true grinder. i dont care if he wins or loses fights, knowing that he's willing to drop the gloves, play physical, that is definitely going to be (and already is) helpful playoff time.
