I saw that hit on the highlights tonight and as much as i despise the Penguins and Letang, that to me is just battling for the puck. Unfortunately this is the one series I predict to be a sweep. Tavares is great, and Nabokov is a solid goalie, but wow did Pittsburgh lay the body on Tavares all night.

Say what you will about Samuelsson, I'm not his biggest fan either especially this version of him, but he has come up huge in the playoffs in the past. I'm not saying he will now, but he deserves a chance. Babcock needs to shift the lineup a bit after a loss. This is the perfect opportunity for it. He might have been injury prone this season, but that doesn't automatically mean he's going to be a liability for us in the playoffs.

Howard didn't have something to do with it, he was majorly the reason why we finished so strongly, but it overall is a team effort. In the media, almost nobody is giving Detroit this credit, everyone is talking about some defensive rebuild which is fine, I actually want Detroit to surprise people. In the past, the only reason Osgood had strong showings was because of our D, now the only reason Howard has a strong showing is because he's stolen games. I guess it's too hard for hockey analysts to realize it's both.

Edmonton is just so bad I don't see them really being a problem for such a desperate team...you never know though. I'm far more concerned with Columbus, and the possibilities tomorrow. If Columbus can lose in regulation, and Detroit wins, well clinch a playoff spot.

While I don't think St Louis is really all that underrated (he's widely regarded as a great player), the past 5 or so years has been so lackluster for Tampa as a team. Every year I look at their roster and see such a potent offensive, especially top 6 and their defense and goaltending just screws it all up.
