Agree with your post 100%. Do I think the person suggesting getting a forward similar to Ryan Clowe in his playing style? No, I think that's desperately what this team needs, but not Clowe himself.

Wow the person that posted and said the TSN, CBC, and Sportsnet are so much better than FSD. That guy has to be on something, or is just like most Canadians and think their version of the game is so superior to everyone elses - apparently broadcasts included. The ironic thing in reality is that neither are true, as your post supports. CBC is EXTREMELY biased towards ANY Canadian team playing. I too watch a lot of CBC/TSN/and some Sportsnet broadcasts. CBC focuses so much on the Canadian slant that it becomes very hard to watch and take seriously. Sportsnet is the broadcast equivalent to Bush-league hockey, and TSN is probably the lesser of evils.

At first I wasn't on board with trading for Boumeester but if Calary is selling and we can swing a deal, I think Holland needs to aggressively go after him and a forward this deadline. My 2nd option for D would be Yandle but God knows what Phoenix would want for him, if they're willing to take offers on him at all.

I Still think there are players that can be moved in particular filppula. I'm not saying he will acquire us a superstar but trade a piece for another wrinkle in our team. I'm the last guy to do an outlandish trade proposal in a thread but I think he is one of our more valuable players

The LA Kings would've been the LAST team most people would've picked to win the cup last year out of the 16 teams who made the playoffs. Hockey, more than any other sport when it comes to the playoffs, is highly dependent on how a team is playing leading up to and during the playoffs.

I'd debate that. Anaheim is on an incredible hot streak at the moment, thus making them look better than they probably are. and Minnesota I think would be a toss up. Special teams for the Wings on the road is the real issue, although recently they've looked a lot better, albeit there was nowhere to go up from the way the special teams were playing before that.

I don't think this is a fluke. John Davidson has actually finally changed the culture in Columbus from a team with absolutely no identity, HORRENDOUS defense and goaltending to a team that works extremely hard and plays a trap game. This worked for the Blues when they finally become good again. I don't think Columbus is a playoff team yet, but weirder things have happened. It's a shortened season so who knows. A Chicago/Columbus series (1 vs 8) would be very interesting.

I agree but HOPEFULLY this will also mean we have a stronger bottom 2 lines and just as importantly: our penalty kill.
