Hey guys, what is this so called "power play goal" thing?

I don't know why it bothers me so badly, but whenever Rinne plays the puck I get so annoyed.

Some people on here need to be talked off the ledge. We're not as bad as we are right now, but we're not Chicago stellar either. This team doesn't deserve a fair judgement until (if) all players are healthy. I'm as frustrated as the next person with this up and down, hot and cold play the Red Wings have shown thus far, but I will stand firm in that this team is going to make the playoffs. If the injuries persist like this, I'll have to say a 7 or 8 seed. If we get healthy and play like they're able to, we'll be anywhere from 4 to 6. I don't think we're going to catch Chicago at all, but with that being said, we're not as bad as Columbus.

I don't want to jump to conclusions same as anyone else but that looked REALLY bad because his head was turned to the side and it looked like all of Quincey's weight on his shoulder fell on him. I really really really hope and pray that's not a high up vertebrae injury of any kind...

Solid arguement. But would you rather have a two way forward who (probably) will never have that break out year, or a forward who plays like he's half his size and scores the quietest 30 goals you've ever seen?

I can't find the article because it would take me eons to find it on Mlive, but I remember last season Holland saying more or less that the organization wouldn't entirely mind if he never developed a legitamite scoring touch because he is so good as a two-way forward. My early guess is that they give him a long contract after his current one is up. Holland is in love with two way forwards, which isn't a bad thing, but that's just my take on it.

I think Filppula is more valueable to this team than Franzen. So there. Good luck finding someone to take on a lifetime contract given to someone for one good playoff season.

I think the only thing that can stop them from making a legitimate run at the Cup this year is their goaltending. Otherwise, they're a very deep team especially with their forwards.

I agree with most of what you're saying. Ovechkin looked like he was going to score 50 goals for 10 years straight. But I think Stamkos is more of a natural scorer than even Ovechkin. That being said, I don't know if he reaches Gretzky but he definitely is the best young goal scorer in the NHL.

I don't know if that sounds like doghouse as much as it sounds like Babcock being a coach and calling out a terrible few plays from yesterday's game. Glad to have Sammy back, we really need some depth right now and even though he'll likely play on the top 6 tomorrow, he's a welcomed addition. We need all our of players healthy to be a team that can contend.

Just wanted to also comment that I did not see the CBC coverage of the game, but as a rule, CBC is terribly pro-Canadian and regularly over-hypes any Canadian team. I watch a lot of CBC and it's a reoccuring theme, and is pretty pathedic. If a player is great, talk about them and cover them. I couldn't care less if they're from Kingston Ontario or not.

Yes, Cleary has looked pretty bad overall. He's been slow, easily knocked off the puck, and is losing all the puck battles. I thought this would be different since he had time to heal from his injuries and come back rejuvenated, but unfortunately, I just think Cleary has just lost a step.

Hard fought win. Responded after going down a goal after 3 straight penalties. Overall nice to see Tootoo giving us a much needed physical presence.
