i really like Huds. But seeing as how he had two games this year where he atually shot the puck and was more aggressive and then is kinda reverting to what his issue was last year is getting me a bit concerned and more open to seeing him traded. He, along with Filppula are playmakers. All they ever want to do is pass it off, but it gets frustrating as a fan to see so many of our guys just passing all the time when we need someone who just wants to shoot all of the time, along with Franzen. You make a really good point...maybe Huds and/or Fil need to go. I'm not saying this because of a bad 5 games, but i'd see how things go and if it continues like this i'd expect to see a major trade, if its back and forth (which is probably more likely) alongside with the cap we already have i'd imagine a bigger trade could be quite plausible. But let's not freak guys...Huds has shown he has the offensive ability. So i guess we shall see which Jiri Hudler decides to play.

Mirasty just looks like the tool who would do that in a fight

^ wow lol. he was pretty much all alone tonight. injuries/suspensions keeping this team from getting a real look at what they have this year though

andddd the Jackets will come in friday without a win. I'm hoping student tickets will be available for that game, itd be my first this season. and boy...does that team look so anemic outside of Rick Nash and a few isolated plays tonight. Then again, right now they basically still are last years team so i think they'll turn it around, but not til after friday ;]

True, but if he wasnt putting up points and the Wings were still winning people would be all over his case

Agree with OP. Patty Eaves is just someone you love to have on the 3rd or 4th line who plays very solid in every area of the game , great wrister, whats not to love? just dont use him in a shootout ;] seriously though, Eaves is one of my favorite Wings and i am pumped he signed with us for a 3 year deal

i just cant get it through my head...

I think you and others have brought up these points that seem to be a problem for them right now. They have one scoring line. Prospal has actually been a pretty good pick up assuming he continues the way he's playing right now. Their D last year was atrocious, so far they haven't really seemed to improve that. Like you, I thought (and still do) that Columbus will break out and be vastly improved aka contend for the 7th or 8th seed and be a tough opponent. They're just off to a really slow, sloppy start. Interestingly enough, when they started 0-3 it was the first time they've ever done that in their history. So it's a really slow start, but to get out of it, like any other team, they just need to do the little things the right way....stop trying to toss long passes when you don't have an open lane etc

always a great opportunity to beat the over-rated Canucks. Finally glad to have Red Wings back after too long after back to back games.

ESPN: who cares about hockey anyway, lulz.

as others have noted, Filppula in the first few games does indeed look more aggressive in the offensive zone, and if he keeps it up, eventually they will start getting buried more often than passing the puck all of the time. Looking for Fil to finally break the 20-25 goal mark this year which only makes him that much more of a solidified two way forward.

All Eastern time zone teams should just be in the EASTERN conference. How's that for logic? its probably too simple for Bettman and co. I know we have a huge draw in the West, but that shouldn't be reason to keep us in a conference we shouldve never been in to begin with. Heck, if it means going East, i'll take the southwest...as much as that doesn't make sense it's still better than this.

the top two teams are obviously us and the Hawks, as for the other 3, take your pick cause i can any of them making the playoffs-- just way too many scenarios to play off to really predict. As others have said in regards to Columbus, even though they have started 0-3 for the first time in their franchise history, Mason is the huge x-factor or question mark. Same with St Louis and Halak. Nashville will be a cusp team as well. Excited to see. 1. Wings (screw the pundits) 2. Hawks 3. Columbus (sleeper pick) 4. Nashville 5. St Louis

Wings > all else

how absolutely perfect that on Peter Forsberg jersey retirement night their opponent is the Red Wings. Now, let's see the guys ruin the night and take a 3-0 or 4-1 win. Who knows...maybe honor the old rivalry with a couple scraps? A guy can dream, go Wings!
