hes looked very average this year. he looked very solid when he was called up to the NHL, now this? whats up? and then we have lebda scoring on himself... and bert and cleary hook it up! well at least this period had one redeeming moment with .9 seconds lef.t WOW LIDSTROM

i agree! i try not to take the yahoo NHL guy(s) too seriously though.. gotta love babcock though, we have a tremendously under-appreciated coach with this team

team just needs to wake up, maybe get ripped into a little bit by babcock and co. not take so many outside shots just absolutely frustrating...

not that i want to come across as standing on a soapbox but, ive stood by the position that datsyuk and zetterberg should be on the same line together.

thats absolutely key. i say lets see the Wings take in the 4th spot or higher and get the rest of the team back and go after the hawks.

extremely frustrating game tonight. apparently, as far as THIS current team goes (goaltending ups and downs, injuries) its the feast or famine situation..

im in the same camp. its just too early but i do see many promising aspects to his game: penalty kill role, finishes his checks speed if he can develop a scoring touch, then were all in for an even better treat.

agreed. although i didnt really mind these, or their "candycane" or jail bird - esqe ones from last year.

indeed, it seems as if the Wings play out like a tale of two teams on any given night. one night, you have an offensively balanced, defensively responsible team, other nights.... can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn.

interesting stats! as you noted, of course those two lobsided games will tilt the scales a bit, but lately, the Wings have been playing great. timely offense, very solid goaltending and defense.

that sure would be an odd line - two slow guys who cant really skate or pass well with someone who is elite in that regard. as for bertuzzi im expecting around 15 goals from him this season.

im not ambitious enough to look through pages, but werent people starting threads in the off-season speculating Leino as the Wings' next superstar forward? i guess its time to humble ourselves for now.
