I would DIE LAUGHING the whole game if they all wore those during the game. OR, OR if the coaching staff wore the beards AND those crazy cowboy hats they had on during the Winter Classic. Wings win 18-1, Pavel getting 10 points to reach 101. Hank gets six goals but it doesn't count as a hattrick as the ref waves off four because Homer was sitting on the bench. The people of Michigan go hungry for Arbys again. Kokopuffs gets 18 assists. Conklin plays the whole game half asleep, scaring the crap out of everyone on the boards. There is a meltdown when we give the Blues a pity goal, even though we're still 17 goals ahead of them.

I was hesitant to read this thread because I knew at some point, it would probably hit all my Feminist Rage buttons, but here we are. A little sexist? That would be an understatement. You can't possibly know what all women are and are not good at. I would agree that compared to male hockey, female hockey doesn't quite stack up, but that maybe has something to do with the difference in resources available to the male and female clubs. Could you honestly tell me that the male clubs and leagues don't get the better equipment and funding and access to rinks and coaching? And while that is most definitely not everything that makes a hockey club, could you imagine what might possible happen if female clubs had the same caliber of coaching that the male clubs do? Not that I disagree with you, but in general, just because a woman said something doesn't mean that it's not sexist. Agreed. It's pathetic they don't get a chance to play the real game. That it has to be 'dumbed down' for them. Honestly though, to those of you who say a woman won't ever be in the NHL because of toughness... I'm torn. Obviously men and women are not built the same way. But just because we aren't doesn't mean that women aren't as tough, physically and mental as men are. And just because most women don't try to enhance their toughness doesn't mean they could. I mean, it's ridiculous to assume that a woman couldn't change or work on her toughness, that there is only one 'level of toughness' that she could possibly be at her whole life. Given a chance, a woman could be just as tough, just as built as many of the Datsyuk-sized players. Just because that's not a "normal" build for people to associate with a woman doesn't mean it can't happen. And given a chance, and the same coaches and trainers and opportunities that male hockey players regularly get over female players, females could do so well. As amazing as some women play, I don't think any female hockey player has reached her full potential yet. And yeah, sometimes you can just run on talent alone, but do you think any of the extremely talented NHL players would be half or even a quarter as good as they are without access to the coaching and training they get? I don't know if I think that men and women will ever play in a NHL-caliber league together. It just hits too many people's squick factors. Most men aren't comfortable hitting women in that kind of situation, people aren't comfortable watching it, women aren't even allowed to hit in their own league, ffs. Oh my god, this post is getting out of hand.

I completely understand why it happens, and it bothers me. I hate that half the people that come on here only do so to ***** and moan about how terrible a player is or the team is. I understand why they do it and I know I can't change that, but it bothers me nonetheless. I also agree that some/most of these complaints are pefectly valid. That doesn't make it any less annoying when we're winning most of the game and the other team scores and suddenly everything is flooded with DOOM DOOM END OF THE WORLD EVERYONE SUX!!!11!! So honestly, I can't understand why people get to scream that on a GDT, but I say 'naysayers' and someone says I'm making a statement. I'm not trying to harp on you or start a pissing match or anything. I'm just frustrated. This should have been a nice, solid win, but we didn't show up in the third, I can admit that freely. And now the boards will implode in a bitchfight, and frankly, I've seen sorority houses full of girls on their periods who ***** and moan less than these boards after a loss.

Damn. We totally let this one go in the third. I'm disappointed.

Discuss it? Do you even see these boards after we're one goal down? It's as if the four horsemen of the apocalypse came down on them and it's raining hellfire. One damn goal as a lead and we may as well be the bottom of the league. There's a difference between being completely oblivious about a teams chances, and having faith in your team to get back a lead or tie it.
