Actually, Franzen for Whitney is not a terrible trade. I could see it happening, if we weren't completely stacked with defenseman that is.
-
The comparison I was making is the overall improvement of having Pronger on your team versus having Rafalski. The number of major individual awards a player has earned is an easy way to quantify his ability. Pronger has 2, nearly 3 as harold pointed out, Rafalski has zero. You can make the argument that perhaps Pronger didn't deserve those awards, but the fact still remains that over their careers, Pronger has more Norris and Hart votes than Rafalski does. Its not a mistake. I really don't put much thought into hating on various players. The Red Wings are in the business of winning Stanley cups. Chris Pronger would be good for business. Easy decision.

Rafalski is like half the defenseman Pronger is. Seriously. He's a midget
-
You're right. That Norris was probably a fluke. So was the Hart...
-
Where's Rafalski going to go?
-
I'm going to be selfish and predict 7-1 Detroit, with 7 points for Hossa, 7 for Franzen and 7 for Rafalski (They're all on my fantasy team, sorry)
-
Yea really. It doesn't get much dirtier than breaking someones neck during a game, and the majority of people here rooted for Bertuzzi. I'd be thrilled if the Wings signed Pronger because he is a great hockey player, and he would make the wings a better team. especially if we traded Rafalski for Pronger, who have virtually the same salaries. Lidstrom - Kronwall Pronger - Stuart Ericsson - Lilja Chelios That would be a scary blueline and it would cost us the exact same as we are paying now. Think about it.

I choose to believe this explanation. Thanks

what happened to jiggy?

I already bought my Boston jersey, so no worries

Who is Filppula blowing??? I voted Hudler, but I think I would change it to Sammy. Like someone else said, there is the potential to get a return for both Filppula and Hudler, and I think Sammy would be willing to sign for a nice hometown discount. Filppula and Hudler are replaceable and we could use their money to sign a nice free agent if Hossa goes elsewhere.

anyone got one for tonight?

Hey, I know that english isn't your first language, but this was too funny! Pulling your finger is an american elementary school joke, you tell someone to pull your finger and then you fart. Heck, its still funny even after elementary school! Ok, Im done

How was Lilja's fight?

If I read through this whole thread, do I win a prize?

I just cried a little bit...

That Brown hit on Robidas was wicked!
-
Perhaps. But how many cups will we win before then?

This period is much more enjoyable

Hossa is ridiculous

There is no way in hell Draper and Maltby will be traded. There is no way Rafalski gets traded. Even though I think it is extremely unlikely, the only way I see Hossa, Zetterberg and Franzen all on the team next year is to trade Filppula.

No, but i tried once. It took me an hour to drink about half. That's the day I realized that I am lactose intolerant.... The person below me likes green eggs and ham

That's why we have training camp and preseason. Hell, I've seen people make the case that the regular season is just the preseason to the postseason anyway! Thats almost 100 games to work it out. I know it feels like a lot of turnover for one offseason, but I really dont think it is. I think the best additions would be Helm, Leino and Abdelkader. I think Helm is a no-brainer to center the 4th line. Leino and Abdelkader, maybe one of them works out, maybe they both do, maybe neither, but you have 100 games and 3 or 4 other possibilities waiting in GR to get it right. Part of being successful in business is taking chances. Look at the Kronwall signing. Or Datsyuk's contract. Opportunities don't just present themselves, at some point you have to start making decisions. Sometimes they aren't easy ones to make.

See, I don't understand this. everyone's always screaming to have the young guys make the move up, but when a situation presents itself that might necessitate such a change, people say no way. And really, with the top 6 six we have now, does it really matter who's playing on the bottom 6? I dunno. I guess I just love the way the top 6 looks with Hossa in it so much, I can't imagine going back. Also, Franzen is not a superstar... You're a retard. Take that s*** to the political forum.
