Hey, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I have to choose between the Ducks and the Kings if I want to watch a hockey game. vomit

Holy crap!! It's 90 degrees out here in LA!

Gross. What's your cat been eating?

My cat's breath smells like cat food.

Whatever. I dated Ashley Olsen BEFORE she was famous.

You mean Niedergate?

Dude, guess what... Zetterberg missed 20 games last year too. Should we let him walk when his contract expires because he MIGHT continue to have back problems? The fact of the matter is that over the course of his career, Forsberg has played in 697 out of a possible 950 games. That's close to 75%. True, it's not Lidstrom-esque, but I wouldn't call it horribly inconsistent. Besides, no one's saying we should sign him to a 15 year deal, probably just this year and maybe an option or something for next year.
-
What are you talking about? Forsberg played in 57 games last year (55 points) and 60 games the year before that (75 points) Not to mention the fact that he's probably only missed about 10 playoff games in his entire career, including the year he missed the entire regular season and came back and put up 27 points in 20 out of Colorado's 21 playoff games. He might be a gimp, but he gets it done when it counts.

Which active player will have his jersey retired?
Bannedforlife replied to timothy1997's topic in General
Didn't Wayne Gretzky himself say that Crosby is going to break every one of his records? -
We've only lost to Anaheim once so far this season
-
Actually, Howard started 4 games in 05-06, posting a 1-2 record with 2.99 GAA and .904% save percentage. And I'm sure he'll see a couple of games this year as well.
-
With our defense, spending 7 million a year on a goalie is a waste. Maybe after Lidstrom retires.

Hey Lou, hows the team doing? I have 4 yahoo teams, 2 of them are 2-0, one is 1-1 and one is 0-2. Pretty good, batting over .500 at least!

Both football and baseball are evolutions of several other games that were played in the British Isles and American colonies, i.e. rugby, cricket. Neither can trace their origin to a single time or place (however, it is most likely that their origins had nothing to do with Canada) Basketball's different though. Basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian P.E. teacher at Springfield College in Springfield Massachusetts.

This is the first hockey draft I've participated in this year, I think it turned out pretty good. Let me know what you think. It's a 12 team rotisserie league. C - Pavel Datsyuk C - Nathan Horton LW - Ilya Kovalchuk LW - Henrik Zetterberg RW - Jaromir Jagr RW - Martin St. Louis D - Dan Boyle D - Tom Poti D - Andrei Markov D - Michal Rozsival G - Cristobal Huet G - Chris Osgood Bench - Michael Nylander Bench - Paul Stastny Bench - Dustin Penner Bench - Nicklas Backstrom

First off, Chris Chambers is not going to put up the numbers you're hoping for. Miami offense is atrocious this year. Trade him. Second, you made a huge mistake by drafting a kicker and defense so high and it shows by your lack of depth in RB and WR. If Gore or MJD go down this year you are truly screwed. Also, why did you draft a backup kicker and backup defense? You can always find serviceable kickers and defense off the wire for your bye weeks. I do like Young and Gore, but other than that there isn't much to get excited over. My advice is to get rid of Quinn, Kasay and your backup defense and pick up either two RB and another WR or three more RBs. Maybe Ladell Betts or Brandon Jackson. Brian Leonard might breakout this year too. Trade for Vincent Jackson and Santonio Homes. And where is your tight end??? This is how you draft a football team. Feel free to kiss the rings... QB - Tony Romo RB - Larry Johnson RB - Brandon Jacobs WR - Steve Smith WR - Terrell Owens WR - Marty Booker TE - Todd Heap K - David Akers Def - Jacksonville Reserves - Jay Cutler, Ahman Green, Brandon Jackson, Vernand Morency, Mark Clayton, Heath Miller

Check out my first fantasy hockey team this year
Bannedforlife replied to Bannedforlife's topic in Other Sports
Pretty sick, isnt it? It was a combination of not picking a goalie until the 9th round and a couple of the othe rowners in my league being toolsheds. Plus the yahoo rankings are pretty messed up. Here is the draft order for my team. 1. (10) Jaromir Jagr RW 2. (15) Ilya Kovalchuk LW 3. (34) Martin St. Louis RW 4. (39) Henrik Zetterberg LW 5. (58) Pavel Datsyuk C 6. (63) Dan Boyle D 7. (82) Nathan Horton C 8. (87) Michael Nylander C 9. (106) Cristobal Huet G 10. (111) Paul Stastny C 11. (130) Andrei Markov D 12. (135) Dustin Penner RW 13. (154) Tom Poti D 14. (159) Michal Rozsival D 15. (178) Nicklas Backstrom C 16. (183) Chris Osgood G In retrospect I did make a couple bad decisions after Datsyuk, but alot of that had to do with the player I was going to pick next getting snatched right before my turn. All in all I think I'm pretty set at forward and I have some good trade bait to shore up my D and goaltending. I'm pretty excited about this team, but after seeing some of the other GM's draft I think making trades will be somewhat difficult. -
I'd be interested in getting in on a keeper league. Anyone know of one starting up this year?

Hey, I do what I can

What about Shane Stant vs. Nancy Kerrigan? Now that was a beatdown!

Oh crap! I can't believe it took me this long to realize that you're an idiot! This whole time I thought I was having a discussion a normal person. Boy, is my face red! Anyway, have a nice day retreading tires Corky.

1) If Ken Holland's first order of business when he wakes up on July 1st 2008 is to call up Hank's agent and work out an extension, HE WILL BE FIRED. I guarantee you that Zetterberg won't be re-signed until at least January 2009, to do so before that makes no sense and is poor business management. Also, this whole philosophy of saving cap space in order to re-sign a player over 2 years from now is completely ridiculous and is frankly getting pretty annoying. If we have extra money right now we should use it in order to address one of our weaknesses right now. 2) I don't know what your point is with this one, except maybe to exhibit your ability to perform simple arithmetic. Good job. You could put Dany Heatley and Pavel Datsyuk on a line with a monkey on skates and they'd all put up 100 points. Yes, they're that good. 3) Again, what's your point? I hope you're not trying to imply out of Savard, Heatley, Kovalchuk, Hossa, Datsyuk, Spezza and Alfredsson, that Marc Savard is the big swinging dick. Because I'd hate for you to look silly. 4) On July 1st, 2008 one of two things are going to happen for Dany Heatley. He is either going to sign with a perennial cellar dweller for 10 million or he is going to sign with a REAL cup contender for 8-8.5 million (which is exactly what Sidney Crosby just signed his extension for). How is Heatley and Rolston at 12 million any more unbalanced than Zetterberg and Rolston at 11 million? The more that I think about it, the more I'd really like to see something like this happen. First of all, Hank's already starting to have problems with his back, which we all know can have devastating effects on your career (Eric Daze anyone?) I don't see the point in committing to a long term contract with someone who is already starting to have problems at such an early age. Secondly, signing Heatley and Rolston would finally shut up everybody who go on and on about us being too small, too soft, too whatever. I don't understand the logic when you talk about being too small and weak and then you freak out whenever someone suggests getting rid of one of our small, weak forwards.

Number 1 - Please show me exactly where I said we should TRADE for Dany Heatley. You cant because I never said that. I said that he'll be a free agent next summer and that we have just as much of a chance of signing him as anyone else. (if he doesn't re-sign with Ottawa) Number 2 - He's also never played with Pavel Datsyuk before, who is just as good if not better than all four of those guys mentioned (Marc Savard??? Please, if anyone was being carried on that line it definitely wasn't Heatley) Furthermore, why would you put Heatley on a line with Homer and Sammy anyway??? Do you even watch hockey or do you just spend all your time posting non-sense on this forum? Number 3 - Dany Heatley is EXACTLY the kind of player this team needs according to probably 90% of the people who post here. He is a big, young, GRITTY, goal scoring beast, and he just so happens to play WING. We have too many centers on this team and in GR and not enough FINISHERS. And if I'm not mistaken, aren't you one of the people who won't shut up about this team being too small and not having enough grit??? Well, here is our opportunity and he would do alot more for our chances than signing Arron Asham. Number 4 - He would cost at least 1 million more than Hank because HE IS WORTH IT!!! I'm sorry, but if you have a chance to lock up Dany Heatley long term, you do it. You worry about your second line center when the time comes (which wouldn't be until AFTER we win the 08-09 Stanley Cup, thank you very much)
-
Dany Heatley is a free agent next summer and if he decides not to re-sign with Ottawa then we have just as much of a chance of picking him up as any other team. Maybe more considering there are only about 7 or 8 other teams with less money committed next year than us. Now I know that everyone is going to freak out about the fact that we need to plan ahead for Hank's new contract, but be real. Dany Heatley is better at almost every facet of the game than Hank and given the choice between the two, every GM in the league would pick Heatley over Zetterberg.

I would've just said fine, and walked out the door without paying the bill.
