Dickie said that he didn't want him unless Buffalo was willing to take out our garbage. That's severely undervaluing him. Regarding the center prospects, yea its a problem. But right now we have NHL centermen. We don't have a single right shooting offensive defenceman, a fact that Babcock has bemoaned for years. We do have an overabundance of dman prospects that look like they will for sure be NHL players someday, but not right now. We will have to trade at least one of them in the next two years or so because there simply isn't enough roster space for all of them. Why don't we trade our highly promising center prospect to address an urgent need now, and then use our highly promising defenceman prospects to address a POTENTIAL need later?

Myers has more points in his career than Smith, DeKeyser, Kindl, and Lashoff COMBINED. In about half the number of games, too. He had a down year during the lockout, but last year he scored .35 ppg, .21ppg, .42ppg, .46ppg, and .59ppg the years before. Thats pretty good, especially considering that he's spent his entire career on the undisputed worst team in the league. Im not saying that he's the next Lidstrom, but to say that he is completely worthless is wrong.

Did you know that Myers is younger than Smith and the same age as Dekeyser? If they have room to improve, why doesn't Myers? Better throw in Emmerton just to be sure...

These are our last 10 first round picks:05 - Kindl 06 - Emmerton (traded down) 07 - Smith 08 - McCollum 09 - Ferraro (traded down) 10 - Sheahan 11 - Jurco (traded down) 12 - None (traded away) 13 - Mantha 14 - Larkin In the last 10 years, the Wings have had exactly ONE first round pick that has made it (Smith), two that had good first years but still have a lot to prove (Sheahan, Jurco), one that looks like the real deal but hasn't played a single professional game (Mantha), three that straight up have no shot (Emmerton, McCollum, Ferraro), one that straight up sucks (Kindl), and one that might get a sniff of first line duty around the turn of the decade (Larkin, if he even develops). So yea, based on our recent history of choosing and developing first round talent, I'd trade two guys who MIGHT play in the NHL 5-10 years from now for a young, giant, right hand bomb dropping, Calder winning, bona-fide NHL player and de facto number one defenceman who fills the single greatest need that our team currently faces.

If we had traded kindl in his draft year, maybe we couldve gotten ourselves something nice and shiny. Hell, maybe we couldve packaged kindl and smith and helm and a first and landed burns. Wouldnt that be nice right now?

You know who our last 'highest pick since Lapointe' was? Jakub Kindl. We decided to wait and see what we had in him, 10 years later he has become a waste of space that we can't give away.Im sorry, but waiting to see what you have with all of your prospects is dumb. You either a) find out that they're good and you want to keep them, or b) find out they suck and then no one will want them. Either way, it never allows you to make a trade to address needs and improve your team now. We need a top 4, right shooting bomb dropper. Do you really want to wait 2-3 years for Sproul to become that?

Tons of empty seats everywhere, really embarrassing. Every time they showed the lower bowl it was filled with empty seats. I was so embarrassed!
